2225.05.2022Conquistador378.0The Great Kabuki was a groundbreaking, mesmerizing piece of wrestling GOLD. I've seen some of his work prior and he was random Japanese wrestler #396, so the gimmick was certainly necessary to further his career. The precursor to The Great Muta and very different from all other performers at the time. Maybe his actual ring work hasn't aged like fine wine - but the contrast between himself and anyone else DOES. The Great Kabuki was quite the spectacle. I also found much joy in his tag team with The Magic Dragon. Aside from the one-off Royal Rumble appearance, I have only seen his work up until around mid 1986; so admittedly I have only seen a very small fraction of his entire career.

2621.12.2020Strong Zero Machine10.0Legendary heel, charismatic, longevity. Of course not the best in ring skills but good brawler and great psychology. Huge inspiration for the great muta gimmick (First wrestler to use the mist)... 10 cause of the global ratings, real rating 8.

2902.09.2020ElPolloLoco3.0I don't think he had a whole lot going for him: he went through a ton of gimmick and image changes both in Japan and the US before striking gold with the Great Kabuki in the early 80's, and apparently even that gimmick was Gary Hart's idea. Despite being in his early 30's at the time, meaning at his peak as a wrestler, he was extremely limited and I'd say 50% of his mystique was thanks to Gary Hart hyping him up a sinister threat and another 30% due to us all slack jawed yokels wondering what was in the Asian Mist. Now a whole lot left after that.

3205.01.2019JEK 199110.0Great wrestler and heel. He was great at his role. First wrestler tom use green mist in his opponents faces. Later on Killer Khan, Tajiri and Albert (Giant Bernard) used the mist.

3431.05.2018InactiveGuru6.0He was a great heel in his NWA days and he was the first wrestler to incorporate the asian mist in matches which is awesome. A very old school heel who did well with what he was given. He just wasn't as talented as other wrestlers who used the mist after he innovated it.

3618.09.2016Luv all wrestling6.0The Great Kabuki is noticable for being the first wrestler to incorporate the mist into his character, and being something like a template for the Great Muta character, and while he does have a long storied career all over the world, his matches have not aged well.
