[9.0] "This man doesnt need to have a good gimmick. Barnett will literally fuck you up if he wanted. That goes for all of wrestling period. Aside from maybe lesnar but that's still a verry big maybe on that. Very Japanese strong style. Which lends to his name as the war master."

[8.0] "Josh Barnett is an underrated wrestler and deserves more recognition for what he can do as a pro wrestler. He was a solid MMA fighter, but his true calling has been pro wrestling. His stint with Game Changer's Bloodsport show had turned him into a pro wrestling darling in many circles. His submission style is great for him, especially as he inches closer and closer to 50. It allows him to set a more steady pace while limiting the impact that taking bumps will cause. It's a great idea that more should pursue, but few could truly pull off. His brief stint in TNA (IMPACT) in 2017 showed that he could be a big-time player with a big-time promotion. He had great chemistry with Lashley and I'm hoping they run it back in the near future."

[5.0] "The "Anti Kota Ibushi" in that he could have been a huge star in anything he did: pro wrestling - Western, Japanese or shoot style or a multiple belt champ in MMA in multiple orgs but... Didn't. One of the true "what ifs" in wrestling and in legit shoot wrestling. Walked into NJPW with their main star Yuji Nagata and had a banger of a match, that was laid out perfect to get a loss but not take any aura hit from it - and then did... NOTHING after. Has size, a scary presence, legit skills both in fighting and in the ring and passable promo work. He could have had a long career as a bully MMA style shit-heel for an IC belt, and been an high midcard star in any major organization. Makes you wonder WHY no org wants to work with him for very long. Could have been anything he wanted, but now in his mid 40s, the sun has set."

Barnett can do a lot of stuff, he's extremely technical and work shoot-style matches pretty well... he's always showing nice things in his matches, I love his Bloodsport events, so creative and unique."

[10.0] "Not only an MMA legend, but also a proper professional wrestler, this guy just gets it. Unsurprisingly, he's in that suzuki tier of incredibly skilled legit grapplers who understand wrestling as narrative and make it work. Its kind of a shame that he's never had a continuous run, but whenever he gets in the ring he brings it."

[10.0] "Speaking mostly about his MMA career, Barnett was is and will forever be one of the best EVER ! So much athletisism and charisma. You dont see many fighters pull pro wrestling moves in a fight, but Barnett does, like the german suplexes against Yuki Kondo. An amazing guy in the ring as well as the mic. Barnett is the complete fighter !"
