201.07.2020zephyr9.0Between his excellent BoSJ last year and some tremendous matches in this year's NJ Cup I feel like it's safe to say that Sho will be the next big singles ace of the junior division. Just an amazing wrestler.

1003.06.2020ElPolloLoco6.0He's basically the slightly better and less goofy version of his tag team partner Yoh. He's generally better as a singles competitor than Yoh and his offense is somewhat more convincing but so far, while he's had plenty of entertaining matches, I am still to be truly impressed with him. I think he has a nice spot waiting for him in NJPW but I don't think he will be able to replace any of the guys in their 40's who are winding down their careers, at least not with his present "package". As an aside his ears look somewhat even worse than Tanahashi's, which is no mean feat.

1815.04.2020boymeetsworld6.0For some reason I always see SHO as someone who almost desperately tries to make himself look bad. Either because of his 'super-tryhard' way of carrying himself, weak offense, or because of his underwhelming run in BOSJ. He has potential, and sometimes he decides to flip the switch and be really fucking good, but it's never consistent.

2322.01.2020EthanWrestling9.0SHO is the best of Roppongi 3K, it is excellent solo and team unlike YOH (which is very good in team), it is a little underrated, it is very charismatic and a very good powerful and agile wrestler! I like very much SHO! 9/10

2904.11.2019arrancar7.0Sho was always my preferred guy out of him and Yoh when they were young lions, and now Sho is a full-time roster member, a fantastic junior powerhouse, and one of the most promising youngsters in the company. His intensity is off the charts and his offence is always suitably explosive. I easily foresee him as a future junior ace, or at the very least a future multiple time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champ. He far eclipses his partner, Yoh, in almost every field. He sadly doesn't have the best of chemistry with him in Roppongi 3K, even though they've been together for 2 years now, but he always manages to steal the show either in singles action or in a tag match. He still has a ways to go to unlocking his full potential, but he's shown quite a few glimpses of greatness already.

4112.07.2019PunchInTheNuts8.0Since the Best Of The Super Juniors 2018 he proved he has a great potential as a singles wrestler, way more than as a tag team guy unlike his partner. He's great at striking, power moves and can even have some mat-based wrestling matches so he can have different types of matches. He is not tall but that's not a problem for a junior (maybe if he wants to move in the heavyweight division) and he has a great look. The only thing he lacks a little is confidence: I know he is a silent badass type of wrestler but he is clearly genuinely a little shy when it comes to talk. I guess it will come with time and it's not really a major flaw because fortunately New Japan still focuses on the storytelling in the ring and not being a great talker won't really slow him down. He can be a huge star in the junior division.
4207.07.2019BongStroman10.0My absolute favorite Jr Heavyweight. Also the MVP of both super juniors he was in. And probably will be for several years to come. Highly underrated, Anyone who has doubts go watch Sho vs Shingo Takagi Night 1 Super Juniors 26 Or Dragon Lee vs Sho Night 3 Super Juniors 26. Keep in mind these matches are only few days apart, and both are unbelievable pace and hard hitting. Sho for IWGP Jr Champ, Or a Heavyweight push eventually.

5015.05.2019xPETERx8.0Noch kein deutscher Kommentar? SHO wird in den nächsten Jahren sicherlich einige Single-Titles in New Japan halten. Den Look hat er. Obwohl er ein Junior ist. Aber das waren Ibushi und Kenny auch. Gutes Move Set. Aktuell zeigt er im BOSJ26 dass er 20min Main Events worken kann. Aus dem wird noch was!

5613.05.2019PuroresuLover8.0SHO is the future of NJPW's Junior Division, he has everything to be a good Champion, he just need to be built. Also, I hope he becomes a Heavyweight in the future, he has a good body and move-set to become one.

6508.12.2018liveru9.0SHO is the best thing about the Junior Tag Division at the moment. He's a future main event heavyweight. He has the look of a heavyweight and the moveset of a junior. The sky is the limit for Tanaka and whilst I don't want to see Roppongi 3K split, I think New Japan are missing a trick by not pushing SHO as a heavyweight singles competitior. He is special.

7430.07.2018Malay Boy9.0Sho is step up big time in the last Best of Super Junior tournament. He has the biggest physique junior heavyweight in NJPW right now. I really like his combination of Powerhouse and Technical which make him great in ring. I hope he focus on his single career match in the future.

8803.02.2016sevendaughters8.0Very good basic wrestler with a intense and watchable mat game. Watching his development has been a pleasure. Not the biggest guy in the world but has a frame that might see him as a Goto-esque heavyweight in the long run.

9204.08.2015mrjoshdude7.0Similarly to the other young lions in his class, Tanaka is showing a lot of potential. Although it's too early in his career to really see how he'll do, things look bright at the moment
9321.12.2014WrestlingStats14.0Sho Tanaka is still very young in his wrestling career, where he predominately appears for New Japan Pro Wrestling. He's developing some flair in his move set and should hopefully compete in the Junior Heavyweight division once he gains more experience. He seems rather slender (even for a cruiserweight), so he may need to add a little more meat on his bones to get ahead.
