[6.0] "Rawley came into WWE with high energy, a football background, and a catchphrase-driven persona built around staying hyped. Unfortunately, the act never evolved beyond surface-level enthusiasm. While his initial pairing with Zack Ryder as The Hype Bros gave him some visibility, Mojo never stood out as a solo performer. His in-ring work was passable but lacked finesse, and his promo style often came across as forced or overly intense without much substance behind it. There were brief attempts to repackage him with a more serious or edgy tone, including painting his face and delivering cryptic promos in front of a mirror. None of these changes ever clicked. Each reinvention felt more like an experiment than a meaningful push. WWE never fully committed to developing his character beyond gimmick tweaks, and fans never fully bought in. Despite having a strong athletic background and clear passion for the business, Mojo Rawley never found a role that played to his strengths in a lasting way. He had energy, but not the presence or skillset to rise above the lower card."

Comparing with many other stars of that time Mojo wasn't the worst wrestler as people have been saying here. Mojo acted like a man who left asylum and needed some dr*gs, but I always found it funny and kind of passionate. Rawley had always had some problems with his gimmick, rather its absence. WWE would try to give him chances, but he, perhaps, was never able to cope with psychological character. People were just not ready for him, because he Rawley was always hyped, but the audience - not"

[4.0] "WWE's penchant for hiring any NFL talent they can makes sense as they normally have the qualities that make a good pro wrestler: size and athleticism, of which Mojo had. His wrestling was not bad just very formulaic WWE style, he clearly did his best with the work he was given, putting his all into the characters of hype bro and then a heel who talked to himself in the mirror. I think his wrestling and acting felt too forced. The gimmicks he was given was terrible and he was never really given anything of a sustained push, it seems he is thriving post-WWE so wrestling simply wasn't for him."
WhatIsLooveee wrote on 25.02.2023:

AlDente01 wrote on 25.09.2022:
[2.0] "I don't think anyone made me feel as embarrassed as Mojo. Being a face in The Hype Bros. was downright annoying. It wasn't even the level where someone was so bad as to be good. You couldn't see him. The actions barely resembled wrestling and everything around him, the whole facial expressions, reactions, leading the character was very tiring. Later, as a heel, he was bland - a series of segments where he talks to the mirror, and then nothing. Definitely one of the worst wrestlers in WWE in recent years."

SSEighty7 wrote on 17.04.2021:
[6.0] "Promo and personality wise, he's probably an 8. You really saw that when he turned heel and started uploading his own promos from his cell phone. They were really engaging and you saw a lot of potential there that you wish was utilized more. In the ring, he's like a 5. Fairly standard with some intensity, but nothing real standout, so I feel like a 6 is a perfect rating for him. Time will tell if he can get better in the ring."
CodyHawk wrote on 08.01.2021:
[4.0] "The hate is a bit much for this guy; he is your average in-ring talent. Good energy, but no direction. Has yet to find the right character. That said, I understand why the WWE keeps him around. His famous friend aside, Mojo himself does have a lot of upside. He has charisma and athleticism; here is hoping he can finally put it all together. Could use an actual program, like many others, but he hasn't really garnered the fan interest to warrant that on such a crowded show. Maybe some time as a bigger fish in a smaller pond would be good for Mojo."

[5.0] "Mojo Rawley has potential, and sincer he's 34 he still has years to spend in the business. He's obviously strong and athletic, however he's very limited in the ring. The heel person just doesn't suit him that well, his "hype" gimmick was great in my opinion. All in all, had he managed to execute more moves inside the ring and kept on being a face, he could definitely be good US Champ or IC Champion"
Ma Stump Puller wrote on 20.09.2020:
[2.0] "Idk, there's just nothing that really connected properly with Rawley. He looks the part, sure, but his wrestling is slow and for a guy with a "hype" gimmick, he's really lacking that explosiveness that a guy his size should have. Bland on the mic and lacking any sort of real presence in the ring. Even having a seasoned worker like Ryder behind him couldn't really get a lot out of the guy. Nothing about him really works and we've gone way beyond the point where size could get you far in the business by itself."

I feel like he is also getting more comfortable with being an heel. However, he definitely needs a manager. Sami Zayn showed up and managed Mojo, and maybe this is a turn in the right direction."

[5.0] "Mojo Rawley is stale in the ring. That's mostly due to his limited superman hype gimmick - basically an even more limited Super-Cena gimmick. His worst gimmick, which was still cheered by fans (in other words: once again we're part of the problem and blame it on the WWE management). Therefore he couldn't really evolve much in NXT. Apart from that he has a lot of potential. He can cut good promos, even with bad gimmick his character work is good. But he's suffering from one of the most inconsistent character developments. I don't understand how Mojo is supposed to be annoying, when he never had a lot of TV time. He's definitely one of the weaker wrestlers in the current WWE's roster, but definitely not someone to be rated with 2-3. The rating here tells you more about the wrestling community than about Mojo Rawley."

[3.0] "Rawley is a bad wrestler, and quite unlikeable. His whole gimmick alongside Ryder is that he is a stereotypical "bro", but for some reason this is played off as a babyface persona. This makes no sense, since 'bros' are usually immature, rude, and obnoxious. Trying to make Rawley likeable by giving him characteristics most commonly associated with totally unlikeable people is extremely stupid. I am almost convinced that Rawley is meant to be heel however, given his extremely cringeworthy catchphrases, his unintelligent and obnoxious tone and dialogue, his embarrassing football inspired moves, and his forced passion for excitement and 'hype'. This really leaves Rawley stranded, as he has all the makings of a heel but is positioned by WWE as a babyface. His general offence is fine but limited, as he usually just plays the hot tag role alongside Ryder. He could actually work as a good heel if allowed to push this 'bro' gimmick in that direction, but for now he just comes off as a total geek because he wants to be adored by fans for his passion but acts far too unintelligent, arrogant, loudmouthed, and disruptive to ever actually achieve that."

The whole pointing at a guy mid match to shout "he ain't hype" three or four times is rather strange. Having watched him in NXT and the main roster, I'd imagine that he won't get that much further than the Hype Bros or something similar, so perhaps his gimmick is fine for where he will be in his career."

Until Mojo gets some character development, the fact is that he will rank low. He is not a draw, not a top guy, not a mic man. However, with that said, over the last year he has shown a lot of improvement."

The fact is that shouting can't mask his lack of charisma, and that running around like a maniac can't mask his lack of skill. He's energetic, but he's not a natural performer and his cardio still isn't good. Beneath a "hyped" facade, it's plainly visible that Mojo is well out of his league and trying desperately not to wash out of NXT. Sadly, I just don't think he has what it takes to cut it in the big leagues."
