[6.0] "Eminently competent in all he did. A natural comedian who was of real benefit to AJ and NOAH in that area, a capable tag partner to Kimala II and Honda, and participant in a handful of excellent singles matches (e.g., vs Slinger, both vs Kawada)."

[4.0] "I don't think Izumida is great, but the rating here putting him in the category of wrestlers like Nailz seems extremely wrong. Was at least competent enough to do his job, and it's hard to hate that hard on anyone that was apart of the incredible All Asia Title Match w/Shinzaki and Hayabusa... even if he was largely the 4th wheel."

[7.0] "This is an insanely harsh rating for someone who knew his role and did it well, he was involved in plenty of decent tags in particular. I have no idea why so many folks have rated him a zero. He did not set the world in fire but his place, Meg om the card did not require that"

[8.0] "Izumida having such a low rating is really messed up considering how fun he was. He definitely wasn't a workrate workhorse like AJPW's top guys, but that's not what he ever tried to be, so judging him on that just isn't really fair. He always filled his role as a lumpy hard-headed midcarder really well, bringing some great violence to any match he was in with sick headbutts. His times teaming with both Tamon Honda as the Headbutters and Akira Taue as the Violence Bulldogs are really fun and even in singles matches he tended to do very well for himself. Just an overall extremely good wrestler who worked exactly how he should've."

[7.0] "I'm not gonna act like Jun Izumida was a Main event Star or anything but he was a good Tag Wrestler with headbutts that can kill, Him and Tamon Honda were a beast of a Tag Team. I sort of put him on the level of Tasutoshi Goto of someone who's fun to watch in tags and can be good at singles, Izumida's matches with KENTA from 04 and Takayama from 01 are the ones that stick out to me."

[6.0] "At the moment, Jun is near the likes of Giant Gonzalez, Eva Marie, and Nailz in terms of his rating, which I feel like is a far more extreme variant of the Ogawa backlash he got from Puro fans because he wasn't as immensely focused on high impact workrate like Misawa and co were. Izumida wasn't god's gift to wrestling but he wasn't terrible at all considering his role was a undercard moving up to a mid in tag teams when needed. As a wrestler, he's admirably simple, focusing on vicious headbutts and power moves for the grand majority of his matches, mixed with sharp kicks and brawling. He was quite versatile, able to play a underdog babyface to more established talent or be a bully himself. He's been apart of multiple good pairings (from his more comedic NOAH stuff with Taue to his quite solid run with Honda in AJPW as a headbutting, brawling duo) and was actually quite agile in his younger days, being able to do flipping sentons, suicide dives and moonsaults. I honestly don't get how he could be so low despite all of this, it's outrageous. The guy could go."
