[8.0] "Out of all the OG members of The Elite, Adam Page has certainly surprised me the most. And he's very interesting to me because it feels like the presentation (theme music, character, storylines) and his moveset has some form of alchemy that's so solid, yet I can't figure how to put it with words. It hasn't always been all sunshine and rainbows with the start of Page's career, as he failed to stand out back during his ROH/Bullet Club days. But ever since his quest as AEW's main protagonist, his storylines have been an absolute joy to watch as we got to watch one of the best portrayals of a babyface in all of wrestling. As a character, he's a subversive representation of what a cowboy or decent masculinity stands for, and he did it while not falling into the trap of having unpenetrable self-confidence. As a wrestler, he's very athletic and his moveset suits him very well (special mention to his Orihara moonsault), and out of eveyone who set foot in AEW, he's one of the top 5 sellers in the company. Just like his character and stories, his wrestling is very textured and on point that he feels like he's always in control. Great talent, I hope to enjoy the rest of his run in the company."
[8.0] "Hangman Adam Page has been one of the breakout stars of AEW. In NJPW and ROH he was a developing star associated with the Elite who improved every time you saw him. In AEW was when he got to shine with his team and then feud with Omega. His world title run was admittedly less than stellar."
"A wrestler who seems to divide opinion quite a bit, understandably. I think when Hangman is given the right programme - versus Omega, Danielson, Moxley and Swerve - he makes the absolute most out of it and has some of the most memorable rivalries and matches in AEW, during which some of his fiery promos have been awesome. Hasn't always been booked the strongest, his World Championship run post-Danielson was booked poorly and came to a damp squib of an end versus Punk in a face v face programme which made zero sense from the beginning. I thought his infamous "worker's rights" promo was a ham-fisted attempt to blend fiction and reality like Eddie Kingston and MJF had done with Punk but which went badly wrong, perhaps hitting a sour note with Punk he'd not envisioned. Personally, I am a big Hangman fan and hope to see more great rivalries and bloody blow off matches in the future!"
[9.0] "My favorite wrestler in AEW right now. He is a 5-tool wrestler who has everything I look for in a wrestler. Whenever I invest time in watching his work I feel rewarded with masterclass wrestling and character work for the most part. My only critiques of him are that he's a pretty average promo and his cowboy gimmick isn't exactly breaking new ground."
[10.0] "He's come a long way since his ROH and New Japan days. Fully realized his potential in every way now he just needs the booking to go all the way with him."
[5.0] "I find him a very bland performer, his in ring skills, while not terrible, do nothing for me. I watch his matches and I leave feeling absolutely nothing. His promos, I equally rarely find them convincing outside of one or two. A shame, I enjoy the cowboy gimmick, perhaps if he leaned into it more, I would find him more entertaining"
[8.0] "Hangman is one of the best in AEW, reliably putting on some of the best matches in the company. I do fear that his character peaked in 2021 with the Kenny Omega storyline and fan support has dwindled since the Punk stuff, but I would imagine Hanger can pull himself back up and become a favourite once again."
[5.0] "he was mid as fuck in NJPW, then AEW somehow thought he could work as their top babyface... and they were kinda right for a short period of time. then, as soon as he was made world champion, all of his shortcomings were exposed, both in terms of in-ring work and, especially, in terms of character work and storytelling. certainly the booking didnt help, but now, 4 years into his first tenure as a "top guy", I believe it is safe to say that Page is a bland wrestler with little to no charisma"
[9.0] "Only a matter of time before this dude stays in the 9.0 ratings. The only people that hate this guy? The fans from the other side, that's who. This guy constantly delivers in matches, on the mic. What else could you ask for? He's not as flashy a performer, which I know a lot of what the other side dislikes. He's got presence, he's believable, has a badass gimmick anyone could get behind. The only thing standing against him is obviously the association with the EVPs, meaning he's someone the company is really behind, but, he delivers when he has to. Incredibly loyal to his team- I can only see Hangman building more character the years to come. A fantastic performer."
[8.0] "I'm not a huge fan of Hangman, mainly because of some actions in the backstage, but he is definitely a great wrestler, very capable in the ring and one that does a lot of incredible matches. His character easily could've become kind of a joke, but the way he portrays himself makes the cowboy gimmick work pretty well, excellent babyface so far. Still have some problems in the mic skill and a problematic behavior sometimes, but undoubtedly a great wrestler and a questionable person."
[9.0] ""Hangman" Adam Page, from a mid carder in Ring of Honor that eventually found his way into the BULLET CLUB, to one of the biggest babyfaces in AEW. While I feel he isn't World Championship material, his title win at Full Gear 2021 is, undeniably, a great moment and the storyline leading it was flawlessly executed. Very good wrestler, decent promo who has his moments, natural babyface, unique approach to the done-to-death Cowboy gimmick, an all around good hand to have."
[10.0] "Boy oh boy, where to start? Hangman is simply one of the best ever to step foot in a Ring and definitely Top 5 in his generation. His wide Moveset allows him to adapt to any type of wrestler and any type of Match. Specializing in Texas Death Matches, he is without a shadow of a doubt the wrestler who most of all in AEW has been able to remain consistent in making top-notch Matches as well as getting better and better on the mic to the point where he can cook his opponents with just a few words. Page is absolutely an athlete who must be followed in all of his work."
[4.0] "Hangman Adam Page has found a home in Hardcore No DQ Matches. Hes able to show off his creativity in these kinds of matches, especially with talents such as Mox, but thats where my praise ends. I cant take him seriously in Promos and that Segment with Punk gave us a glance at the kind of person he really is. If he really loved and cared about AEW, his prioritiy would have been to put on a Banger Match with Punk and do whatever is right for business. But he chose to play a part in driving away one of their top talents."
[9.0] "Despite some rather impassioned takes from the highly impressionable, Hangman Page has consistently been one of the best acts in AEW, whether that be in the ring or on the microphone. His story of overcoming his self-doubt and eventually beating Kenny Omega for the AEW world championship remains one of the best storylines in AEW so far. He has become significantly more compelling since his ROH and NJPW days, coming out of the shadow of his contemporaries and in some cases now outshining them. Unfortunately, Adam Page has somewhat fallen to the sidelines lately, but hopefully he should soon pick momentum back up and see another world title reign in the near future."
"His booking is very odd. He was a fixture of the early years of AEW and his title win was legitimately one of the best moments in company history, but it feels like Tony Khan is apathetic about Hangman to the point of forgetting to book him for extended periods. He can have a great match on demand to say the least."
"I get really really mad when wrestlers bring elements of realism into a feud to add interest in the build to a title match. Even when older wrestlers have built their entire careers by doing this. And yeah bitter and arrogant, definitely the first guy that comes to mind is the Hangman. And probably he doesn't know what ring psychology is. I don't either but it's a nice way to put someone down without giving a good reason for it. j/k he's pretty great, just booked without a good direction sometimes and isn't at the MJF/Joe/Kingston level of being able to one-week promo a match"
[5.0] "Honestly a very bland wrestler. He's got a few good moves but he doesn't put them together very well at all because he hasn't learned psychology and from what I can tell isn't interested in learning either. His selling is pretty selective as well. He's got good babyface fire though and has a decent look. Definitely has a good promo in him too but they're still hit and miss and he has to be in the ring with a more experienced worker for his matches to make sense. There's some tools there to get a lot better with but he's far from the finished article and honestly I'm not sure he ever will be because I still see the same worker I saw five years ago."
[10.0] "Didn't think I'd be here giving him a 10 just a few years ago when he was a mid kind of guy in ROH, but here we are. Seeing his climb from an unremarkable ROH guy to one of the top guys in AEW has been quite the ride, and a lot of Hangman's strengths have come to the fore. A great character who exudes charisma, connects brilliantly with the crowd, on top of that, is great in the ring, evidenced by some great matches against Omega, Danielson, Moxley etc. A gem for AEW."
[9.0] "How far Adam Page has come. Once just the other guy in the Bullet Club, now arguably the most over babyface in AEW. The Hangman vs. Kenny storyline of 2019 - 2021 was one of, if not the best part of the formative years of AEW. Hangman has been an exceptional worker and storyteller, but I feel like he still has much to do."
[7.0] "Good in the ring, but I find him to be an incredibly generic babyface character. His gimmick is that he's an anxious millennial cowboy, which says "I'm a cowboy but also the furthest thing from a cowboy" Like an 80's gimmick, without any believability. His feud and match with Omega was great, but after losing the belt the character seems to be stuck in a pit of "meh" that I don't believe he gets out of till reinventing himself."
"The main character of AEW. He's really fun in the ring even if he's not on the level of some people he's worked with, but what makes him rule is the long term story telling."
[10.0] "The epitome of what it means to climb your way to the top. This man has been through so much during the 15 years he been in the industry, and has had a career that most wrestlers his age would die to have. His matches with Kenny Omega are a prime example of how storytelling helps so much to further a good ass story. Also, hes so down to earth that he seamlessly can draw a line between friendliness and professionalism."
[9.0] "Started noticing him during his ROH and NJPW work, due to his proximity with the Elite, and you could watch him improving in real time. He had some really good matches in Nooj with Kenny and Okada, and by the time AEW came around, the Elite had clearly marked him for greatness. One of the best character arcs in modern wrestling. He got damn good in the ring, putting on excellent matches with veterans like Danielson, Moxley, and Omega, and his promo work is nothing to side eye either. A perfect fit for AEW and a top tier babyface."
[10.0] "I've literally seen his entire career. He started with a CWF Mid-Atlantic in North Carolina and I saw him quite a bit beginning in 2010. Seeing climb from the little Sportatorium to Ring of Honor to AEW to becoming world champion was amazing! He's a very relatable character and one of the best babyfaces of his generation."
[10.0] "One of the first guys I connected with when I started watching AEW. Great character work, and a diverse in-ring style that allows him to have superb matches with anybody. He can go toe to toe with Bryan Danielson on the mat, match the pace of Ray Fenix, or have a compelling brawl with Jon Moxley."
[10.0] "I genuinely think he's one of the best wrestlers on the planet right now. Easily hangs with the likes of Danielson and Omega and is still very young. On top of that, he's charismatic, good on the mic and can go a lot of styles. And he seems like a really nice guy."
[10.0] "I only watched WWE and very occasionally TNA/Impact from 2005-2013. Afterwards, I stopped watching wrestling. Tried to get back into WWE during the pandemic, but it wasnt my cup of tea. Found out about AEW and how old favorites such as Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho and CM Punk were involved. Hangman Page was the first non WWE talent I fell in love with. His promo style of just talking like a normal human being and having very real problems is refreshing in a larger than life field that is wrestling. His move set is incredible. I came to AEW for the ex WWE, but stayed for Page and the Elite."
[10.0] "Personally, there is no other like Hangman Page, and there probably never will be one like him again. He fits the description of a generational talent in my eyes. Not only is he arguably a top 10 living in ring performer, he is possibly the most realistic, human wrestling character we have/will ever see. I can understand how his promos come off as an acquired taste, because he isn't always yelling or hitting a catchphrase, instead he's a bit more soft spoken, and speaks as if it is what an actual awkward, anxiety ridden human being would say. You can't ask for much else in a babyface than to be relatable and by god is the Hangman relatable. There is only room for him to grow, with seemingly no slowing down at getting better either. He is the real deal, a cheat code and a hidden gem all at once. Hangman Page is THE man."
[9.0] "A fantastic performer who will continue to improve. I first saw him in New Japan and remember thinking very little of him, but since he began in AEW, he has proven me wrong and gone from strength-to-strength. Page is an explosive wrestler who fuses several styles together to create his own unique blend of wrestling, and he will only continue to get better."
[9.0] "The second best babyface in all of wrestling today (behind Sami Zayn). Phenomenal in-ring and a relatable character for a lot of fans. He can deliver a great promo when given the chance and will always be seen as the future ace of AEW for me. The Hangman vs Elite story will never be forgotten and will be remembered as the greatest story in AEW history for me. My favorite match of his is against Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021."
[5.0] "Overrated and VERY boring - that's for sure. His style and good in-ring work would fit better to New Japan if he stayed there. Maybe my rate is too low, but simply I'm not fan of him. I would rather see a tons of other wrestlers on my screen."
Es gibt so viel Good Cowboy Sh.. was er inzwischen zeigte. Auch schön er ist wieder fit er hatte ja einige Monate keine Freigabe auf Grund einer Gehirnerschütterung erhalten."
[10.0] "Adam Page is a really strong worker-- good moveset, athletic, good strikes. He's one of the more consistent performers in AEW. He's amazing at impassioned, self-reflective promos. His gimmick is a welcome counterpoint to the toxic masculinity that permeated a lot of wrestling culture throughout the years. It's not always easy to get me to root for the biggest babyface in a company, but I love cheering for Hangman."
[10.0] "My current favorite professional wrestler. Has been since he cut a promo in the forest during Covid, on BTE. I liked him in ROH and New Japan, but I always felt was just an ok member of the Elite. But after his return to Daily's Place post Covid isolation, I absolutely love him. His matches, social media, his promos, his work with Dark Order on BTE, and his entrances. His series against Bryan Danielson were my favorite matches of 2022, and the match he had with Dark Order against the Elite was on of my favorite entrances ever. His tag match with Kenny Omega versus the Young Bucks at Revolution 2020 is also one of my favorites of all time. His return to win the chip to face Kenny Omega in 2021 is also one of my favorite moments ever. A solid career, and he is firmly in my all time top 10 with Terry Funk, Barry Windham, Great Muta and Shinya Hashimoto."
[8.0] "Can do a lot of spots in the ring and has connected with the fans through AEW. Before that I thought he was below Marty in the Bullet Club, but now that would be a laughable opinion. So due to him being over I give him an 8."
[9.0] "Amazing wrestler and worker. His Buckshot Lariat is a very cool finisher. He wrestles many amazing matches (vs Danielson 1 hour is my favorite). Hope he will be a mega star someday."
[10.0] "I was first exposed to Hangman at the start of AEW. He started out as an up-incoming babyface and star and since then he has largely improved in pretty much every aspect of pro wrestling. AEW was pretty much the Hangman/Elite show and his storyline with Kenny was fantastic. A long-term story like that was essentially alien to American wrestling fans. His promos were never bad but lately, they have been incredible. His AEW championship run is underrated in my opinion. He had some of AEWS best matches with guys like Bryan Danielson, Lance Archer and Adam Cole. Needless to say Hangman has become one of my favorites in AEW"
[10.0] "Hangman Adam Page is one of the greatest wrestlers today. He is just naturally over with the crowd. Knows exactly how to make a great match and he know so well how to cut a great promo. Page is one of the most underrated wrestlers in history of our sports."
[9.0] "From a jobber to a legend. I'm very happy for his improvement in the last 3 years. He has proven that can do big matches with literally everybody."
[10.0] "Many criticize that he is boring, but I think he is a very hardworking and very decent wrestler, he has many excellent matches that should go into classics, his gimmick is nice and classic in the spirit of Steve Austin and Bradshaw (Gimmik 2002) I think AEW Fans and Tony Khan should give him another chance to become the Champion and Face of the Company"
[10.0] "One of my favourite wrestlers and one of the few I'll give a 10. He can go in the ring. His character is one of the best and most nuanced in wrestling. He's great at minor storytelling details. And he's only in his early 30s so he has so much potential"
[7.0] "Assets: Has blossomed rather well from being a preliminary wrestler in the minor leagues to main eventing on a larger stage. Has enjoyed titular accomplishments as a singles, tag, and trios wrestler. Has the right blend-and-balance of mic skills and in-ring work to appease both contemporary fans and traditionalists alike. - - - Flaws: His run as a main eventer was somewhat overshadowed by the company he kept at the top of the card. Is perhaps better cast as a face than a heel. Hasn't always been a natural in the entertainment department. - - - Career Potential: Admirable national league main eventer with upside."
[6.0] "Brilliant wrestler whose career has been blighted by inconsistencies from both underwhelming booking and an alienating public persona. If he stayed away from the bad habits he's picked up from those he surrounds himself with then he has an exciting career ahead of him."
[4.0] "Love him as a wrestler but unfortunately he alienated me because he epitomizes everything that's wrong with modern US wrestling, from a public persona I find puzzling to dragging politics constantly into the picture. Hangman, you are 30: leave that stuff to old relics like Mick Foley who are tarnishing their legacy in a desperate attempt to stay relevant by catering to people on Twitter."
[10.0] "I love Hangman Page's character, he's a great wrestler and has proven it quite a few times, I personally like what he does both in the ring and on the microphone, so he deserves my highest rating."
[10.0] "Adam Page has shown the world why he is world class wrestler. A great in ring worker, with an incredible move set, and for my opinion the best character work of anyone in wrestling right now. An all time great babyface."
[10.0] "Hangman has arguably had one of best characters arcs in AEW and although his time as world champion appears to coming to an end, there is definitely another world title reign coming in the future among other great prospects."
[10.0] "Hangman really grew into a great wrestler after AEW started up. Not only did find a better character he also started to be way more reliable in the ring. Now he pretty much has nothing but great matches. Don't like how he's taken a back seat in his title reign but that's not his fault."
[9.0] "I look forward to coming back and knocking this rating up to a 10 in a year or two because all signs are showing that Hangman Page is going to have a couple headline pay-per-view blowouts on one of the biggest stages around. He? s young, squeaky clean, a great story worker, a great team player, a pristine baby face, I? ve just not seen him reach his pinnacle yet"
[10.0] "I really thought he would be a star after seeing him in the G1 Climax a couple of years ago. He seemed to steal the show with every performance. Since then, he's really come into his own. His run to the top is one of the best stories told both in AEW and in pro wrestling in recent memory. He delivers a solid and relatable promos and, especially in the last year, has really delivered in the biggest moments in the ring. Great charisma and signature moves that stand out, he really is one of the leading wrestlers of his generation. In an era where being heel is cool, and being a face can lead to a bland character, his ability to be a cool babyface that the crowd can get behind should be talked about more. Truly an all around performer."
[8.0] "Adam Page is an impressive wrestler who is a smooth worker, and got over huge as a babyface, despite the pandemic. He's had a very accomplished career in ROH and AEW. Despite that, I think he might be a little overrated in the ring, and I think he's the least convincing champion. Having Danielson being his first defense might not have been the best idea when he outperformed the hell out of him. Adam can't really control this, but it really shows his weakness as champion. He isn't a horrible interview, but he isn't the one that sells me on his title matches."
[8.0] "I REALLY don't care for this "relatable almost-loser almost-winner" personality but I understand that the general tone of the culture these days is around "not being good enough" and "being sad", so although I think characters like Katsuhiko Nakajima, Bray Wyatt, or Raven will always be better just on a spiritual level I will respect his all-rounder ability to get a crowd going and his great in-ring skill. Still needs some hair on his chest, though. Can't come close to my fav five right now."
[10.0] "I don't 'understand' Page in ROH and New Japan but in AEW he rises like a phoenix from the ashes, being more popular wrestler than others from The Elite. That's fantastic work not only of All Elite creative team but Page himself. It definitely can't dissapoint me."
[10.0] "I havent cared for a wrestler as much as I care about Hangman in a very long time, he's become the main character of my favourite promotion and NEVER disappoints with his matches, it's hard to give anything less than a 10 when any possible criticism is nothing compared to the emotional attachment I have to his matches/storylines"
[10.0] "Adam Page is the main character of AEW. He's had the best storyline in AEW history and is currently on a phenomenal run of great matches. When Hangman shows up, you know something is about to go down."
[6.0] "I really want to like him, but he's not that interesting to watch. His in-ring performance is okay but he's really bland on the mic and lack any charisma. He's suppose to AEW World Champion but it feels like Page is in the background rather being a major focus in AEW and his title defences barely have any build to them. To me it shows that AEW doesn't have any real confidence in Page as world champ compare to Jericho, Moxley and Omega."
[10.0] "Most likely the future ACE of AEW. Grew into his prime in 2018 as he emerged into a top level in-ring performer. Is one of the best characters in pro wrestling as the "1 step forward & 2 steps back" struggling cowboy. Is becoming one of the top Babyfaces in pro wrestling today. Formed one of the best makeshift tag teams in recent memory with Kenny Omega and their run as AEW Tag Team Champions was highly memorable. Teamed with Kenny Omega against The Young Bucks in one of the greatest tag team matches in pro wrestling history in any part of the world. Finds himself in a top level feud with his former tag partner Kenny Omega, as well as his former "Elite" friends. One of the main guys that will be leading AEW into the future. UPDATED: Right now in the year 2022, Hangman Page has been elevated into becoming one of the best in-ring performers in the world, especially after the great rivalry & instant classic matches with the legendary Bryan Danielson. He is my pick for being the best Babyface in pro wrestling right now, and he is in the mist of having one of the best & most interesting title reigns in the business at the moment as the AEW World Champion. 10 years from now, Hangman Page might end up becoming one of the legends of pro wrestling."
[10.0] "A wrestler that always had great potential who has great potential growing into his own. I love how he can do it all. He breaks out a number of flying moves but also can brawl and do some technical wrestling. He's also found a different style character that you normally see in the USA."
[10.0] "The best babyface in AEW right now and a worthy champion after not only culminating his 2-year story arc but also hanging in the ring with all-time great wrestlers like Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. I am curious about the next character trajectory for the anxious millenial cowboy that has shown to have his finger on the pulse of modern wrestling fans. I love his confidence on the microphone and his growth as a main event star over the last year and am right there for all the " cowboy shit" that's still to come from this man who has only just entered his wrestling prime."
[6.0] "Adam Page is a solid wrestler no doubt. He's good in the ring and reminds me of a younger Jericho in that aspect. However, he is not really charismatic and his talking ability is just passable. I find it hard to believe him as a top guy. I feel as he was made champion because that was the plan they had in place way before it happened instead of putting the title on the hottest talent. He's solid but like Omega he is one of the guys the Internet fans overate."
[3.0] "This guy is the most overrated wrestler in AEW as of right now. You will see it in matches where his opponent is not the best in-ring worker, say Matt Hardy for example, and his lack of ability to have basic in-ring fundamentals and put on a good match is exposed. But I even see it happen when against guys like Brian Cage, who's a really good worker, the Blandman is unable to adapt to Cage's wrestling style and keeps going on with the same ole cowboy shit or whatever. He even managed to put on a bad match with Tanahashi in New Japan, literally how do you even screw that up. Man, he bores me to tears whenever I see him in the ring, not like his boring af character is much better, and he will be remembered as a negative blip on the AEW World Championships' otherwise really solid history. Give us Jericho back, Moxley was great, hell I'd even take that goof Kenny at least his matches are good. Making Page world champion was the biggest mistake AEW could make, there are only so many Danielsons around to carry you in a match bruh."
[6.0] "Adam Page is one of those wrestlers that has a lot of promise but struggles to fulfill his potential in terms of rounding out his skillset. Even in NJPW, I felt like Adam struggled to really break out of his shell. In AEW, he has become a decent brawler and babyface, but I'm not sure if he qualifies as a great main eventer and benefits from booking that covers up his weaknesses."
[7.0] "Page is a really good wrestler and character. It's very cool seeing his arc, from challenging Jericho to become the inaugural AEW World Champion and having basically zero connection with the crowd, to becoming a fan favourite underdog due to his "sad millennial alcoholic cowboy" gimmick he developed while teaming alongside Omega, to redeeming his loss to Jericho by finally winning the title and defeating Omega in their long-term feud, solidifying himself as one of, if not the most over guy in the company. That sort of IRL and kayfabe character arc told by Page's story was very engaging, and it's no wonder he's gotten as over as he has with that plus his entertaining character work as a kick-ass cowboy. As much as I can acknowledge that Page's booking was pretty great, and that his character work is very detailed and connects with the crowd, I've still never been super connected with Page myself, and that's mostly because I'm one of those wrestling fans who cares far more about in-ring work than anything else. Now, it's true that a good story/booking and compelling character work will absolutely elevate good wrestlers to great wrestlers, and great wrestlers to legendary wrestlers, but I've found page's character work and story/booking to always be far more compelling than his in-ring work. This isn't to say that he's not a good in-ring worker, because he's definitely very good. It's more so the issue that in all his runs apart from right now as AEW champ, he's never been especially impressive. His ROH work was always fine but unspectacular; his NJPW work was pretty good but he never gave any amazing performances despite being paired with Omega, Elgin, Okada, Tanahashi, and Suzuki throughout the G1; and it's only very sporadically over the last year that he's started having noteworthy singles match performances, mostly being a good but not especially main-player in AEW's various tag and multi-man tag matches for the majority of his time in the company. I personally thought he was 'merely' very good at best in his famous Page & Omega vs Bucks match, good but underwhelming in his long-wanted title win vs Omega (which I think was so highly rated just because it was the outcome fans desired), and very good but still overshadowed by the greatness of Danielson in their 60-minute time-limit draw. I struggle to think of a single performance by Page where he has been the better man AND that match has ended up being 'very good' at the absolute least. I get he's less experienced than most everyone he works with, but for someone with his push, he should be leaving a far greater mark with his wrestling. The Danielson match was the first time I really thought he could be a genuinely great singles wrestler and not just someone who looks good when they get hot tags and shovel all their signature stuff in during tag matches, so I'm excited to see what sort of reign he can have as champ."
[10.0] "He really is becoming one of the best wrestlers in world. After match against Danielson I feel like it lift him up to new level. Adam's last two matches are rated by Dave with 5.5* and 5* so his run with title so far is really good. People forgot he's only 30 years old and his best days are still ahed of him. Most improved wrestler of 2021."
[10.0] "I think people need to start realising how great Adam "Hangman" Page is truly becoming - he's a star in the making, that we'll all be talking in the GOAT conversation about in 5 years if not less."
[9.0] "Page is going to be the next big name in pro wrestling. From the moment I saw the Page vs Kazarian strap match in ROH live (Best in the World 2017), I was hooked. When he finally wins that AEW title, it's going to be a huge moment. Great worker, great character. All around great stuff."
[10.0] "He is amazing on the mic and even better in the ring. The entire storyline that has been told with him since the start of AEW is phenomenal and have it has helped him become the best babyface in wrestling right now."
[10.0] "Very pleased for the pay off we finally got to see with Hangman, defeating Kenny Omega a whole year after losing to him in their last match. From the lowest point of his career to now being top of the mountain, the sky's the limit for Adam Page!"
[10.0] "Changing it to a 10, the most interesting and relatable character in AEW who also had some of the best matches in company history teaming with Kenny as the tag champs. The inevitable day in which he finally becomes the World Champion will be massive and I hope crowds will be back by then because it's going to be a joyous explosion all around. 15/11/2021 - It happened and it was awesome, well deserved Hangman"
[10.0] "Hangman Adam Page is a great wrestler. Great in ring skills. Great promo ability and he is one of my favourites. Today he became AEW world champion, which he always deserved to be."
[10.0] "I honestly think that Adam Page is comparable to a young Steve Austin. He is extremely good in the ring, and has only gotten better as the years have gone by, as well as being an amazing storyteller. He's already a big deal, but in the next 5 years I think this guy is going to be huge. He shows no signs of slowing down and has only improved with every passing year thus far."
[10.0] "Greatest storyteller of our generation, awesome wrestler and so relatable. Maybe I should go only with in ring hability, but this guy has a 10 for me because somehow he managed to create an emotional connection with a lot of us, which is not easy. My favourite wrestler of all time maybe, yeehaw."
[9.0] "Hangman Page when he was in ROH and NJPW felt very one-note and not so special as nothing about him really came across as unique, even for The Bullet Club. Though we get to AEW and it's a massive change-up, going from "Great wrestler with noose around his neck because Hangman" to "Drunk Millennial Cowboy" and the level of character improvement that came from his current tenure in AEW has really shown how far his character has developed and grown. A ton of layers are prominent through it, and it's helped by the fact he's an excellent wrestler to boot. Hangman is getting to a level of a massive star in AEW and when he finally wins the world title, it's gonna feel cathartic and well-deserved."
[10.0] "Always liked him from his days in New Japan but definitely didn't feel too passionate about him let alone expected him to be the best babyface in wrestling and able to carry a brand new company, but here we are. His ascent has been the best thing in wrestling since AEW started."
[10.0] "In New Japan you could see the potential in Adam Page, but it wasn't quite there just yet. When he left, I was worried it would never be fully realized, but now I'm happy to say I was wrong. He's on track to lead AEW and could be a legitimately huge star. His charisma and promos on BTE are the sort of thing that wrestling needs to move forward."
[10.0] "I think his ascent in AEW is the most exciting thing in wrestling, and I write this as rumors of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson coming into the company are all but confirmed. I have high expectations for his run at the top and I think he's absolutely the one to be the top guy in AEW for years."
[8.0] "He is an awesome worker, the perfect mesh of old school, more grounded wrestling, and the new age of more spot oriented matches. His selling is good. His mic skills are average, not the most charismatic talker, but oozes it through his actions in and outside the ring. Very easy to root for. His only obstacle to superstardom is AEW's weird booking. He has neared the world title twice this year alone, but both times has failed to reach the summit. Not his fault, but more of AEW's obsession with it's EVPS being the champions. Hoping he ends Omega's reign soon and reaches the top and becomes an even bigger star."
[8.0] "Often let down by booking in his current home turf, should probably be a bigger star than he currently is but where he is now isn't the worst place to be. Feels like a nice fusion of new and old school in the ring, almost like a Face equivalent of The Revival."
[10.0] "He's about to become a big superstar once they give him the world title and I can't wait. He had a rough start at the beginning of AEW's launch but he bounced back and has truly earned the position of being the top guy in AEW for years to come."
[10.0] "(10/10) This is a completely biased comment from my perspective. The reason i think Hangman is 10/10 is because i can relate with his character. Seeing his "Semi depressed drunk millennial" character on TV is like looking directly at the mirror. Now, I'm not as cool as hangman, but i understand his character and he is the ONLY character in wrestling right now that i can sympathize to a personal level. His story is probably different from my life story but i understand that if i were in that position, i would probably do the same thing he did. which is running away from the problem at hand and find the answer to everything with alcohol. And thats why i get him. He is not brave but my god, Deep inside he hated that he is not brave and no matter how much somebody else hated him, it's nothing compare to how much he loathed himself. And that's the part of him that i can 10000000% relate to."
[8.0] "It's kind of mind-blowing to me that Adam Page is still under 30 years old because it feels like this guy's been in the business forever. I think that Hangman still has a long way to go until he reaches his apex, but he's still one of the more impressive talents over at AEW and his buckshot lariat is a total show stopper to me."
[10.0] "Before 2020, he was just a solid midcarder. When AEW started he was compared to the Roman Reigns because he was a generic comapny good guy. But in 2020, he became one of the best in the world. He combined his always excellent in ring work with a compelling and complex character and instantly clicked with fans. Him beating Omega after kicking out of the one winged angel for the world title in front of fans will be one of the biggest pops in history"
[7.0] "Undoubtedly athletic and good moveset, but there's a tonne of charisma and promo ability missing for me to rate him any higher. He's had more of a spotlight since being in AEW rather than NJPW but so far he's not been able to do a lot with it."
[9.0] "Hangman Page is great. In ring, he can do a mix of everything particurlarly his strength and power. The Buckshot Lariat is one of the best finishers in all of wrestling. What makes Hangman special though is his ability to tell a storyline over a longtime with the downfall after the inaugral title match against Jericho and being Tag Team champions alongside Kenny Omega to the fall and becoming an alcoholic as he feels fearful of making. Overall he is superb."
[9.0] "Before teaming with Omega was just a solid midcarder in AEW and NJPW. Improved a lot in the personality department in 2020. I hope he can maintain that on his own."
[10.0] "Probably my favorite wrestler in the world. Puts on great matches and can tell a story. Definitely going to be a huge star in the upcoming years, no doubt. He is a great actor and cuts great promos, and has done a great job getting me invested into his character. COWBOY SHIT"
[10.0] "I am constantly in awe with Page's work, be it on BTE, Dynamite, or PPV. His 2020 was an amazing elevating year with each PPV bringing highlights and depths to his character and ring work. The classic Omega/Page vs. The Young Bucks is a career defining match, I expect the future to keep that pattern up."
[10.0] "Maybe he somewhat gets overshadowed sometimes but Hangman consistently delivers fantastic matches. He has an amazing move-set and has great charisma. His cowboy gimmick is great too."
[8.0] "Top guy in the making. Adam Page has really unique gimmick and he is a solid wrestler, he just need time and the right opponent to shine and take over AEW. For me, he is the best his company can offer, he's young, talent and already a important guy on the card. He's perfect for the World Title, he really doens't need a mid card run or a TV title run, he's ready to get the big one."
[8.0] "Comparing old Adam Page from NJPW, I'd likely give him a 5 or a 6. He just seemed really.... uninspired? Something like that. His matches felt kinda flat and the sheer number of members in the BC kinda squished him out of any sort of real relevancy, and New Japan's focus on ringwork over pretty much anything else did not play to his strengths at all. In AEW he's gotten a new lease of life, a big improvement ring wise compared to his lacklustre work before, and we've actually been able to see his character grow and develop, and his cowboy gimmick, as dumb as it sounds, has gotten him over a lot. Would love to see him working with some sort of title on the line beyond the tag stuff."
[9.0] "Kinda bland pre-AEW, now being booked as one of the main stars of All Elite. Great promo skills, very good in-ring abilities, can tell a good story. Can't wait for more Cowboy Shit."
[10.0] "most improved wrestler of 2020. In 2019, his match against PAC against Double Or Nothing was the most anticipated match of the night. After this match was cancelled Hangman won the #1 contender battle royale and had no character depth or drive going into his match at all out for the first ever world title match. Ever since January 1st when hangman was a drunk commentator he has been the most entertaining wrestler in the world and his matches and storyline along with kenny omega are outstanding."
[10.0] "I always rate active wrestlers based on their current form, I never thought I would give Hangman a 10 but he was VERY impressive since the start of the year."
[8.0] "Fantastic wrestler who has recently turned into a viable main event guy with AEW. I believe that he is a way better tag team wrestler over a singles star. One of the best hot tags in the business."
UPDATE #2: God, was I wrong! Page ist der Standout Main Eventer aktuell bei AEW. Ich hoffe echt, dass sie es nicht versauen und ihn machen lassen."
[7.0] "Hangman Page is really good and he knows how to deliver a good match. He has a good look, his mic-skill is ok but can be improved and he has charisma. The thing is, people doesn't know how to book him! Only NJPW did a good job with him during his G1 Run, but despite that, he was always promised to be a Main Eventer but never became one. Hell, even AEW is booking him badly."
[6.0] "Adam Page is a great wrestler and talker. So far he sadly never got to the top of his division/promotion, but he might reach that high and his full potential in AEW now. Currently though I can't give him his well deserved 8 points, because of his gimmick which is simply as bad as a gimmick can get. Portraying Adam Page as an alcoholic is wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin with. It is wrong from a responsibility point of view as he gets cheered for being drunk all the time and being an alcoholic is presented in a positiv light. It is also wrong considering the performer. Page had a great gimmick already and doesn't need this. Drop Hangover Man and bring back the Hangman and I will bring back the 8 points for him."
[10.0] "2020 was such a great year for the development of Hangman. Owning his gimmick had lead to him being more over than he ever was, while the slow burn story teaming with Omega enhanced the average match of their quality."
[8.0] "Page has the look, the skills, and is developing as a character. His mike skills, all that has been lacking, are improving as AEW goes on. In a year or two, if all goes well, he could be one of the biggest stars in the business."
[10.0] "Adam Page is currently one of my favorite wrestler, he is very good in-ring, pretty good on the mic, good cowboy character, Page will be AEW Champion someday."
[6.0] "Page is an excellent mid-carder. He has a great entrance which gives him, imo, his only sight of charisma. He has the look, his move set is interesting and fun, but I really can't find more than that. If AEW want to push him as the next big star, I feel like Page needs to adapt, because he just looks like the type of wrestler that gets easily lost in the shuffle."
[6.0] "Hangman at the age of 28 is a wrestler who stole the show many times with his in-ring performance. As a whole package he still lacks a lot of uniqueness and storytelling. Unfortunately it seems like he's stuck on the average level and though his efforts are visible he doesn't really evolve enough. He seems to get an important status at AEW, which is reasonable. And this finally gives him some more remarkable moments (such as the loss against Y2J). However in a few years he should be able to back it up. At the moment he just seems to be pretty good on mid-card-level."
[6.0] "Found him unremarkable and boring in NJPW, RoH, and now in AEW. Simply don't see what he has that makes it worth setting him up as a future top guy."
[4.0] "I've tried for a while, through many matches across many promotions, to try and find Adam Page even remotely interesting but I just can't. He's good on the mic but lifeless in the ring. He's certainly not BAD but goddamn do I nearly fall asleep during his matches."
[7.0] "So far, I feel like AEW is doing Page a disservice. He is getting ready to fight for the new company's top title & he is having uninspired matches with a midcard-at-best guy like Kip Sabian. But current booking aside, Page feels kind of blah to me. I feel like James Storm did the cowboy gimmick better. I do like his original finisher though (just hoping it doesn't legit injure someone in the future). Will be keeping an open mind on him going forward now that AEW is getting ready to take off."
[6.0] "Now he is really so boring. even in New Japan, he didn? t stand out, and AEW wants to make it a main event wresrlet. I hope it will be a good idea, but for now, it is very average."
[8.0] "WWE recently made an attempt to sign Adam 'Hangman' Page, only for him to turn them down in favour of sticking with the Bullet Club. It seems to be a case of not now, but eventually."
[6.0] "Adam Page is a good wrestler with great charisma who has some room for improvement in the next two or three years. The best thing that could happen to him is to be part of The Elite because automatically many fans will say that he is incredible in the ring."
[6.0] "Hangman Page is a decent worker, and he can have some good-to-nearly great matches. He just needs a little help to take himself to the next level."
[8.0] "100% the best Elite member. Page's matches are always interesting and he has an awesome move-set. His G1 run this year exceeded all the expectations and I certainly hope we'll see the same for many years to come."
[7.0] "I really like Hangman, he's still developing as a performer but that's nothing 1 or 2 g1 climax runs can't fix. Been having some good matches in 2018. Can very much see WWE picking him up in two years time, maybe sooner."
[7.0] "Sky is the limit, wasn't too impressed when I saw him in ROH but I am glad I kept watching as he joined the Bullet Club and has been a great addition to it, even having a few good matches in Japan. Looking forward to watching him progress."
[7.0] "He is really athletic. He shows a lot of potential when teaming up with the young bucks. He has good charisma, too. Now, I can see he continues to improve and if he does, I will raise my rating."
[10.0] "An awesome in-ring performer, with a very complete moveset and great skills. Hes a bit underrated, I think, but every time Adam puts a step on the ring, he shines. His gimmick is notorious as less, but trust me, 2018 is gonna be his year. (Sorry for the bad english, it's not my first language)."
[9.0] "In a group full of such big personalities and world class workers, I thing hangman gets forgotten. He is a fantastic worker and a real throwback. I think if the rumors are true and he is on his way to NXT then this is a fantastic career move for him to really throw himself into the limelight"
[8.0] "I start to like his in ring capabilities, despite there are improvements need to be made. I think he has found his drive since joining Bullet Club given the way he carries himself. He has a bright future ahead of him."
[6.0] "Always found Adam Page to be underrated. I think he's still a bit lacking in the charisma department but he's a good wrestler with a good look, and he still has a lot of time to improve. I look forward to seeing what he's like a few years from now."
[6.0] "Page seems descent enough in the ring and works hard. He is starting to develop his character more and that will lead to greater success. I like Page and he shows promise."
[7.0] "Adam Page is a good prospect: since his debut he is much improved and I'm sure that he deserves a belt, like the ROH Tag Team Title for example."
[8.0] "Adam Page really has come a long way since I first saw him in ROH a year and a half ago and even since he first joined up with The Decade when he was their whipping boy at first! There's a reason Adam Page is still in The Decade and has a more prominent role in that stable now! No disrespect to Tadarius Thomas but it's because Adam Page has a lot more of an upside than Thomas does. Ring Of Honor sees it in him, obviously The Decade sees it, and definitely after that match he had with Roderick Strong at Final Battle last month that was very good, I sure as hell see it! Adam Page has definitely stepped up his in-ring game, his promos, and his persona, and lived up to that upside he has as well! I'm diggin' what Adam Page is doing in ROH right now!"
[9.0] "Though he may be young, Adam Page shows a great deal of promise. He has a lot of potential and can learn so much more. The fact that he's picked up an ROH contract this early in his career is a great thing, as he can only get better from here. Keep your eye on Adam Page."
