110.07.2025ale8Dude Honestly, you can't rate Chris. Yeah he had matches, but due to his health he was very limited of what he was able to do. But what make his and Mike's stories so sad (I mean the whole family story is sad itself) Chris so badly wanted to be a wrestler, while Mike never wanted to be in the business. two sides of the same tragedy; may they both rest in peace.
206.04.2025CoagueSoldier7.0To his credit Chris has a lot of heart for pro wrestling and he definitely paid his dues in many different ways. Having seen a handful of his matches: yes he wasnt the best wrestler but he certainly wasn't the worst...I've seen trainees wrestle in a t-shirt and compression tights and expose the business, Chris put in the effort to look the part and was more convincing than somebody getting in the ring as a one off. Many trainees never make it to shows, and to some extent Chris lived his dream. Rest In Peace.
328.12.2024Isyys4.0I've heard a few people around the internet call Chris the worst pro wrestler in history, and that's honestly awful to say. The guy had 10 matches, he was green, and not that great, but definitely adequate and if he had more time to develop, could've even been good.
431.05.2024MattHall I've always felt bad for Chris, he is my size around 5'8 and 160 pounds. Too small for his era, his health problems held him back too far. If he didn't have health problems, we would've seen him as the Von Erich High Flyer who could do a moonsault or a 450 splash earlier in wrestling. Who knows what he could've been, he could fit well in ECW or WCW wrestling and feuding with guys like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, and Dean Malenko in the cruiserweight division. But again his health problems became his biggest enemy. He had a heart for the business, and he gave it his best. R.I.P

813.12.2023Dntbamark4.0Chris Von Erich had maybe a handful of matches during his brief run in the wrestling business. He was the smallest of his brothers, mostly due to a history of medical issues but was a decent worker and did his best with the cards he was dealt with. Chris didn't have the physical attributes to sustain success long term within the business, it's been said that like his brothers, he was essentially forced into the business by his carny father. Like I said, Chris tried, he was only 5'5" and maybe 150 pounds but worked hard to pack on muscle so that he could at least somewhat look the part. Out of all the Von Erich deaths, I think Chris's was the most tragic. It's been said he loved wrestling, he had no business being in the ring but loved the business and should have been relegated to a more backstage type of role. Still, he was only 21 when he died by suicide and it's just so tragic because he had so much to live for but unfortunately, for whatever reason, he couldn't see it that way. RIP Chris

1030.04.2023DanTalksRasslin2.0Poor Chris von Erich may have had more of an ambition to wrestle than his brother Mike did, but he just wasn't physically cut out for it. For the time period he started in, he was very small - something that could potentially have been overcome - but he also suffered from both asthma and a brittle-bone condition, and all of that combined placed an extremely low ceiling over him. Add to that the pressure of expectations both from within his family and from the audience of carrying on the von Erich name. If only that pressure weren't there, maybe he could've found other positive ways to contribute to the business other than being in the ring; being a manager perhaps, or learning the announcing or TV production side of things. Tragic that he could find no other way forward.

1227.11.2018JEK 19918.0Chris in my opinion was better than his brother Mike. Even though he was short and had physical problems he was a great fighter. He worked very hard every match. He was successful with Chris Adams. When he committed suicide that was very sad. He could have worked as a referee, commentator or manager instead of taking his life away. I think Fritz was an asshole at times pushing his boys limits. If he was alive in 1997 he would have been in WCW or WWE cruiserweight division. Mind you he was not a good as Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko or Jeff Hardy. If I'd created the Legends of Wrestling and Legend of Wrestling II video games I would have him in there. I am glad that they put him in the WWE Hall of Fame. He deserves it.

1529.05.2016mdkarl2.0his name did him no favors... with a differnt family and wrestling now in 2016, chris probably could be a cheeseburger type act on the smaller indy scene as he obviously loved wrestling and was willing to work his butt off to succeed. with his name though in texas in the late 1980s and with his size disadvantage... he was a channal turner for me. i think his failure to live up to the family name played a strong role in his suicide so tragic tragic case here. sad
1622.07.2009Father Nelson0.0He was not meant to be a Wrestler. Commits suicide.
