[8.0] "It's baffling that Gail Kim didn't work out in both of her stints in WWE, as she was an elite worker during her time, well above the average of a rough period for women's wrestling in the US. Never the best character or promo gal, she did hold her own nevertheless when needed, and carved a well respected career in TNA."

"Gail Kim is excellent at telling a story in the ring. She's great at selling, has crisp working offense, and is incredibly athletic. She always gives her all and can take a real beating as a babyface. Unfortunately, she never had the chance to show how good she truly was in WWE, but TNA recognized her talent, hired her, and showcased what she was capable of. Some people say Awesome Kong made Gail a star, but I don't see it that way. It's more like the dynamic between Mariah May and Toni Storm, both elevated each other, though one had a bit more to prove in the public eye. Gail was always a strong worker, and in TNA she proved she could deliver high-quality matches with incredible stamina and endurance. Her promo skills were solid, too"

In the ring with an opponent that could keep up she could put on amazing matches. She was also good on the mic and had an aura about her in TNA. Great mind for the business that could help any promotion backstage."

[10.0] "Gail Kim is one of the most important women's wrestlers of the modern era. Though her WWE runs were underwhelming, her work in TNA completely redefined what women's wrestling could look like in North America. She blended athleticism, striking, and storytelling in a way that raised the bar. Her matches with Awesome Kong were groundbreaking and helped legitimize an entire division. Gail was ahead of her time and still doesn't get the full credit she deserves"
NizZzy wrote on 11.07.2025:
"Frankly there wouldn't be a Knockouts division if not for Mrs. Kim. Fearless, quality over quantity type of wrestler. WWE doesn't think she can do it, leaves to head back to the division she becomes the golden standard of. During a time when women in wrestling was more for eye candy and tits and ass as opposed to in ring work, Gail Kim made it cool to be a damn great wrestler as well as be a women. She would be a fantastic sign as a back stage help and bolster any women's division in any company."

She was doing it on national television longer than even Sara Del Ray. I still think Gail is underrated. Maybe not for her in ring ability, but for her pioneering for female wrestlers. The only thing she couldn't really do was cut a great promo."

[10.0] "Nickname "The Greatest Female Wrestler of All Time" is insanely adequate. In her prime nobody could touch her, her wrestling skills were amazing and she had that rare ability of putting on a great matches with literally anyone. Character work was also her strong point, she was great face but for me her best work was as a heel. Her rivalry with Awesome Kong is still 18 years later one of the best and the most important feuds in wrestling business. She also had fantastic rivalry with Taryn Terrell - 6 months of intense story and perfect stipulation matches, also her feud with Tessa Blanchard ended with "passing the torch" moment is really underrated. Gail Kim is the name that brought spotlight to women's wrestling and made it matter, thanks to her many people were watching TNA. Throughout the years she made herself 8x time world champion as well as 1x time tag team champion which is huge number still to this day. Her impact on this business and the legacy she has is unmatched and there will NEVER be another Gail Kim!"

I wish she had a longer run as a champion in WWE but looking back to her career it was good that she was on TNA. Gail Kim was one of the main players on elevating the female roster of TNA/IMPACT. She worked well as a heel and babyface. I prefer her heel moments."

It is funny how judging by some of the comments, you can tell who absolutely never watched any of her matches outside of the awful WWE Divas era where she had to wrestle against playmates. I think she was born into the wrong era, she would've killed it today. Anyway, she does a great job backstage nowadays."

She held down talent in TNA and stopped other women from becoming top stars and then she acts like she is the reason for the entire Knockouts division. She made sure she always looked like a star, even in matches where she's a ref or st ringside and not even wrestling and she never cared about her opponents. She seemed like she never wanted any other female wrestlers to be popular or get a push in Impact besides her"

She was a building block of the Knockouts division & certainly helped change the terrible women's division into something far better (and that goes across all federations). She never saw many opportunities in the WWE but even the short time there you could see the talent. I'm glad she was able to shine in TNA & she is still making waves there as a backstage coach. If TNA does suffer from AEW's emergence, Tony Khan would be crazy not to pick her up. Thus far AEW's women's division is not starting on the best foot & I think a solid women leader (not Brandi) would really help matters."

Zero charisma, terrible promos and sometimes it seemed that she was only motivated by having Awesome Kong with her in the ring."

[8.0] "Gail Kim, when she was an active competitor, was a credit to pro-wrestling. A consummate professional with a superb ring IQ. She could fly, use submissions and power. Long before WWE had their women's evolution, Impact brought back women's wrestling to a national stage with its acclaimed Knockouts division. Would have given her a 9 or 10 but she loses a couple of points for not really having much a gimmick outside of being a great pure wrestler. She was one of Impact Wrestling's hardest workers who went out there, busted her ass and delivered."

Her retirement was still a little sad for me to watch as I have always been amazed by her talent in the ring and truly hope that she steps up behind the scenes and really helps the next generation of Knockouts get as close to possible as they can to the former glory days. I think she would make an amazing trainer, but her constant bashing online knocks her down a peg in my books."

Sure she was underultilized in wwe. Short matches, lack of storyline made her unhappy. Her best work comes from tna when the rivalry with Awesome Kong was so great. Get more crowd attraction and investment. A true, well-deserved TNA HOF. Imagine if she can wrestle with women like asuka or 4H ? Should be ridiculously good."

One thing that does keep me from giving her a 10 is that her mic skills are mediocre, and she doesn't have a lot of charisma. However, her fantastic in ring ability should account for something, so I'm not sure why people are giving her low ratings."

Easily the most overrated woman on American wrestling television. On her best day she couldn't lace up Becky Lynch's boots."

Hell, I don't remember her ever talking once on the mic during her second run in the WWE (2009-2011) That being said, Gail had her moments with her having great matches with Awesome Kong in TNA back in 2007. Would give her a higher score hadn't been she been regulated to fighting Jillian Hall on Superstars 487 times in the WWE."

An extraordinarily talented ring worker who is capable of having a good match with virtually any type of opponent, whether that be an opponent like Mickie James who can match Gail's aerial offense, or an overpowering opponent like Awesome Kong. Gail's aerial attack is her signature, but she can wrestle on the mat just as well. If she has a weak point it's her mic skill. Always a great performer to watch and can either play a supporting role in the division or move into the title picture at any point."

Gail Kim despite only being 5'4 bring intelligence, agility, athleticism and diversity to the ring that many have never seen before. Gail Kim as a technical wrestler cab hit her opponents in so many different ways through her corner cross body attacks and uses the ring posts as a weapon of sorts. When she rejoined the WWE it looked as though she would reclaim gold within the coming months, but was shelved immediately afterwards. Although Kim would pick up a slew of victories on televised and house show tag team action matches, her one on one match victories would be scarce to come by( except for the occasions on WWE SuperStars). Being undervalued, Kim would resign with TNA. Since then Kim has been utilized at her maximum capacity. Now if only she would make a few more appearances on the Independent Circuit."
