510.02.2025Zak228.0Great Junior Heavyweight wrestler despite his occasional sloppiness. Ultimo Dragon had bangers in WAR and WCW in the 90s and at a time when junior heavyweight wrestling was at its peak, he still managed to stand out. For me he is a level below Liger, Mysterio and the Great Sasuke but he is still great.

729.01.2025NickyF8810.0Criminally underrated cruiserweight and IMO, the best after Rey Mysterio. It's shameful how he was used in the WWE.

1012.11.2024Expertt10.0Ultimo Dragon was the top cruiser weight wrestler in WCW. Which is saying much as the scene was extremely competitive. His WWE run did not do him justice. But it is nice that he went there so we can play as Ultimo on HCTP.

1214.10.2024JackBurtonsTruck9.0During the 90s he was truly one of the best all around workers. I dont think Ive ever seen a bad match from this time period. His in ring skills along with his presentation got him way over with the audiences.

3707.06.2023Giantfan19807.0Had the look, had the moves, don't think I heard him on the mic but that don't matter because I couldn't understand him anywayXD. Dragon was brought into WCW with much fanfare and him and Sonny Ono parading around with the belts was great! Things went downhill for him here in the States when they turned him babyface and he got stuck feuding with Yugi Nagata in a forgetful angle. He got turned into a jobber sometime in 1998 and the next time we saw him here in the US on a big time program was when he signed with the WWE for a cup of coffee and they did nothing of note with him. His biggest accomplishment was a meme of being the guy who tripped on the entrance way at WrestleMania 20. His stuff in Japan far exceeds his USA tour.

4518.04.2023ArcticSharlatan10.0Ultimo Dragon is one of the most important wrestlers of the past few decades. Influential in the ring and influential as a trainer- he trained Okada- there are few wrestlers who can match what he has given the industry. Alongside Rey Mysterio and Jushin Thunder Liger, he's one of my favorites

4809.02.2023Strong Zero Machine10.0One of the most well know japanese pro wrestler in the international especially pre njpw 2010+ era. Outstanding wrestler, great high flyer, great techniker, great promoter and incredible trainer! Ultimo Dragon gave so much to pro wrestling, for lucharesu style i mean toryumon japan aka Dragon Gate now without him no Dragon Gate no Cima and co. And one of my favourite gimmick (mask) ever with the like of Liger and Tiger mask. Also i meet him 4 times and he's really cool with me. Obviously a big 10 thank you mr. Asai!
4902.02.2023XXDoubleHHXX10.0Ultimo Dragon is a living legend. He has constant five star performances even now in his mid 50s, how many people can do that in thier mid life and preform on the level they did 30 years ago. He is the best luchadore in the world.

5105.01.2023UltimoDragon10.0Not only did he found the Dragon Gate and multiple spin off promotions, he gave us the infamous J-Cup multiple belt photo, was a mainstay in the Cruiserweight division in WCW and innovated a number of moves including the Dragon Bomb, Dragonsteiner, Asai Moonsault and Asai DDT along with the La Magistral pin. He's provided an inspiration for a number of wrestlers and left his mark on the industry while still contributing into his 50s. While his WWE run didn't quite work out, you cannot deny the impact he has made to the world of wrestling.

6612.05.2022Conquistador3710.0A real joy to watch; a total spectacle in all of the best ways during his WCW stint. Unfortunately, that's all I've seen (besides the WWE run which honestly only gave us him as a playable character in Smackdown! : Here Comes The Pain), shame on me right? What this man missed out on stateside was variety in competition. What we have is FANTASTIC! but I wish he had more programs and matches with MORE wrestlers. His match was almost always the best match on any Nitro, Thunder or Pay per view; killer stuff with William Regal, Rey Mysterio, Psychosis and Dean Malenko ...still though, his US stuff seems like the same handful of men involved in superb matches, it never stretches beyond that. Glass ceilings are a cunt. 9.5 rounded up.

7605.01.2022Kung10.0This man has wrestled long than I've been alive and he's STILL, even in 2022, in fantastic ring shape. He belongs in the pantheon of Japanese pro wrestling, not only as a phenomenal worker but also as the creator of what would become Dragon Gate.

8524.05.2021AnB9.0Crazy good in the ring with a mix of japanese and mexican wrestling. Loved to see him in action in the WCW's cruiserweight division, had a crazy deep moveset and some excellent signature moves. He did sometimes have less-than-stellar matches, but that's probably more because of the bad booking of the WCW in the mid- to late 90s.

9725.10.2020rainmakerpunk10.0One of the most underrared and under appreciated wrestlers, possibly the best masked wrestler in history, he was the best wrestler of 1996 in my opinion, nobody mixed the Mexican style and the Japanese style of wrestling better than him, also he trained the best wrestler in history Kazuchika Okada so that's cool

10027.08.2020CyberVoltes8.0Ultimo Dragon is a really interesting character. As a wrestler, in many ways, he was pushing the envelope even harder than the likes of Jushin Liger and The Great Sasuke. He used to be (arguably) a better striker than both of them and maybe even better versed in submission holds. Besides, the Asai Moonsault alone could be mentioned as proof of how he influenced cruiseweights and high flyers in-ring work around the world. Still, Ultimo Dragon's selling and pacing were always very hit-and-miss: without the proper opponent, his performances used to turn out robotic at best and flat out bland at worst. In that sense, it always seemed he brought both the best and the worst of lucha libre to the table. That said, aside from wrestling, he was a pivotal figure in helping spread lucha libre worldwide and, more specifically, being one of the frontrunners of what came to be known as "lucharesu". From Toryumon to Dragon Gate, Ultimo Dragon should be recognized by his work behind the scenes at least just as much as his wrestling skills.
