[7.0] "First saw this guy as a SVR2011 jobber with a cool theme. Poor runs in WWE, but in New Japan this guy was presented well and forged a solid run there, I wish he was used more in AEW."
[7.0] "Very underrated imo. It's kind of crazy how AEW hasn't utilized this guy, he has a great look and also is very good in-ring. Not the best by any means, but with the right opponent he can have a fantastic match. Not too sure if he's still with Jake Roberts as I don't keep up with AEW that much, but if he is... yeah, get him away from Jake ASAP. Needs to be a monster heel, feels like AEW haven't really taken advantage of the talent that is Lance Archer."
[6.0] "Lance Archer is strange to me. I absolutley love his work in Japan, however I feel like he just isn't cut out for America. He has had awful runs with both WWE and AEW and with his age I don't think he will ever do anything of note in the land of the Elite."
[4.0] "I just don't see any murder in the murder Hawk monster. I just think Lance is corny I don't see any violence or aggression in him. I can't believe I'm taking the time to write 250 words but it's required to leave this rating, even though plenty of people agree with my review. I don't think Lance is any real monster. Perhaps it's all the Jesus loving that doesn't do it for me."
[7.0] "Did not have good runs in TNA or WWE despite his size. Getting let go by WWE was best for his career as his NJPW run was great. He had success singles or with the Davey Boy Smith in the Killer Elite Squad. Was presented as a true monster. For a while he was presented well in AEW as well. More recently does not even appear on AEW TV which is unfortunate. In the ring is a good big man. On the mic and charisma wise he is nothing special but not bad either."
[6.0] "I remember a long time ago when I first started watching TNA Impact! while I was stoned. One of the guys that I remember mostly from that little period of time was Lance Archer, then known by Lance Hoyt and, earlier, "Dallas". This guy, the American Psycho, a bit-slow six-foot-something beast of a man, was the guy that made me jump out of my seat a couple of times due to his unexpected aerial offense. I remember those times greatly. I saw him in person for the first time at a Hart Legacy Wrestling show with Davey Boy Smith's son, Harry. A nice person when I saw him at a meet and greet later on. Now, fast forward to today, and he's more popular than he ever was! What an unexpected climb from being a TNA/WWE mid-card squash-man to the most popular big-man-possibly-on-Benadryl that we'd seen in ages. His work? It's tacky at best. Of course, there's the great charisma that comes out of Lance's mouth, and his in-ring work gets better as he gets older, which is quite rare in the wrestling business. He's a good mix of this-n-that, and I can't wait to see him improve more. As a family friend once put to me once we watched him against Adam Page, "just let him do a 630 senton and he'll be the best thing ever! "."
[8.0] "He is very underrated with this current score. He is a legit threat to anyone as a big man. He has charisma for days, and he has a lot of in ring experience."
[8.0] "In my opinion one of the best big man in the business. Super underrated by the companies he has worked for always delivers when asked for a big match."
[6.0] "Doesn't get the respect he deserves. And agile and intimating big man, he's done great work in NJPW and during the limited screen time he gets in AEW."
[7.0] "A heavyweight who is a very good hand in each of his appearances in All Elite Wrestling, we would like him to be there more often and more effectively."
[9.0] "A guy who truly just stuck at it and levelled up to the point where he ended up becoming the featured monster in the second biggest wrestling promotion. I really hope he shows up again soon in AEW, his title match with Hangman is hella underrated."
[6.0] "A very underappreciated big man in my opinion. Has tremendous size and a great look and he is a decent worker who can be carried to something pretty great with the right worker. Had a few opportunities in America where it never really happened for him but for some reason his charisma and gimmick gets over a lot better in Japan."
[8.0] "Good wrestler, can make everyone who works with him look good, is capable of overdelivering against a better opponent and can crush weak opposition like very few can, he would've definitely be a bigger star 30 years ago, but he can definitely mix well with the wrestlers of his generation."
[10.0] "One of my favourite wrestlers. His rating on here is a disgrace. He can do typical big man moves and match formats but also bust out some awesome athletic stuff even at 45. One of the best looks in wrestling today too. Should be more valued by AEW."
[5.0] "Lance Archer's gimmick is not for me, but it was impressive seeing Lance Archer stand up next to the already giant Jeff Cobb! I'm satisfied with Lance Archer's move set. To get more out of Lance Archer, I think in some of his matches we should pick up the pace a bit."
[8.0] "So much improvement over the years. Went from regular tall and sorta skinny guy to big monster who moves around the ring well. Believable monster heel who can also be an entertaining face"
[9.0] "This year Archer has proven that against the right opponents he can have great matches. Ospreay brought two excellent out of Archer this year and Styles did the same thing in 2014. The rest of the g1 will show us if he can deliver against opponents like Kenta, Ibushi, Okada and Tanahashi. If he doesnt I will have to lower my rating, if he does I might give him a higher one. He has been great is the g1, I will change my rating to an 8. EDIT, 2022; The comment above was written in 2019. Unfortunately his overall rating is still under a six. This does make sense as his ratings up until 2018, when he was around 41, were mediocre. I gave him an eight in 2018, right now I will give him a nine. Considering that he has made such an improvement after the age of forty, I believe that he deserves a high rating, but also recognition and appraisal. I appreciate that he is pumping out solid to good matches on a steady basis."
[8.0] "An underrated brawler that's finally getting the praise he deserves from the wrestling world at large. Everything the guy does looks like it's lethal, especially on smaller guys."
[8.0] "Lance Archer has gotten better every year since leaving WWE where he was a nobody. The few years he spent in Japan seemed especially formative to him, to the point where he is now one of the best big guys in the ring. To me he is just one step below World Champion level, still he can be a very valuable part of a roster, best used as a dangerous threat to the champion. He is reliable and have enough credibility that you can throw him in the title picture at any times, either to help establish a new champion or in a short feud inbetween bigger challenges to the champion. Lastly, his current gimmick as an unstoppable chaotic brawler who beats up random guys while walking to the ring is great!"
[6.0] "He works well for a big guy in wrestling and delivers well in the ring. When paired with the right opponent he can deliver his role well and produce some really good matches. Works well as a monster but needs someone to do the talking as he lacks mic work. A supporting role in a stable like in NJPW worked well as does having Jake Roberts as his manager now in AEW. Everything came together later in his career but still better late than never. His run in NJPW was solid and his run in AEW right now has produced some good moments as well. He delivers in his role no matter how limited he may be."
[6.0] "I don't know exactly if he fits in with the style of wrestling that AEW asks for, even so, his career in NJPW cannot be said to have been bad. Speaking of AEW, he does both heel and face well and that makes him an interesting wrestler to watch, for his height he moves well but even so, without Jake Roberts he loses credibility by not having many skills on the mic."
[9.0] "Archer is one of the best monstrous wrestlers there are currently at wrestling. Gigantic, good wrestler, and very very savage. It's one of the most dominant big wrestlers I've ever seen"
[8.0] "A great big man with a lot of talent, legit look, and good in-ring work. Sadly he discovered his right potentials in a late phase in his career after his run in the g1 and I don't think he has much time left to hold a gold in aew."
[8.0] "He's a great big-man wrestler. He puts on consistent entertaining matches and comes off as a threat in every match. The promos need some work but his crowd work is great."
[6.0] "Archer was stuck in a dead role with DBS Jr and the wider Suzuki-gun for years, and it was only in 2019 that he was finally allowed to go out and impress, and he did exactly that. He's a convincing big-man; energetic, powerful, creative, threatening, monstrous, athletic, and all with a distinctive and entertaining character. Archer is what Fale should have been in NJPW, and he's one of the few "monsters" in AEW who has actually comes off like a monster with their booking, in-ring work, AND character work. I won't say he's become some stellar performer now, and he occasionally leans too heavily into his goofy side, but his performances are usually rather entertaining at the very least because of the dedication he brings to playing his role, and with the right opponents he can have some very good matches. It's odd that AEW brought him in as this monster only to soon end his winning streak and put Cody over, and since then he's mostly just beaten jobbers and forgettable mid-carders, plus losing all the other major matches he's had (excluding beating Moxley for an NJPW title). AEW have proved they can book a monster on weekly television like how they've handled Wardlow and Luchasaurus, yet someone with far more refined in-ring skills, character work, and general potential like Archer has only appeared on AEW television 13 times over the last year, and usually in losing efforts or in matches against nobodies. It's just a waste of his potential, especially at his age of 44. Just use the guy properly. Throw him in a tag team and give him the tag titles -- whatever. Just give him SOMETHING where he can be on TV consistently and utilise his size and personality to present an entertaining character, because he could easily do that if allowed to."
[8.0] "One of my favourite powerhouses, it's always fun watching him bulldoze through opponents, he also displays athleticism that should be impossible for a man of his age and size."
[9.0] "Lance Archer is my favorite big man in wrestling today. Very good in ring, a good promo, looks like a million bucks. He's come a long way from being rather bleh."
[8.0] "Maybe 2 years ago I would've given Archer a 9 since he was my favorite gaijin in New Japan at the time. But honestly, his AEW run has sucked so far. It's mostly not his fault, with AEW dropping the ball whenever he would gain momentum, but I think his moment in the spotlight has passed and you can tell he's gotten a little complacent. I don't really know what they could do to get him over again. Side note: I hated his red braided look, he finally looks decent as of his return, but his best look was when he wrestled Ospreay in the G1. Now, with the negatives out of the way, Archer is one the best in-ring worker out of all the big men who have ever worked in AEW. His consistency is ridiculous and people just didn't see how good he was even before becoming the murderhawk monster. His size, aura, and intimidation are pretty damn good, and unlike most of his peers, he understands that jawjacking to your opponents and to the crowd during your match actually DOES make them feel more engaged. I think Archer should just pack his bags and leave AEW if he loses to the Blandman, I don't know why he left NJPW but I guess he foresaw their decline, so he could do wonders in Impact, NOAH, AJPW, or even give NXT a try."
[8.0] "I like the look of this guy too much, he is a mix between a giant but at the same time he is not so much either, however I like to see him on AEW now that he has made his return stamping the Cowboy Shit against a chair in Dynamite."
[10.0] "I think Lance Archer might be the best "big man" wrestler, in the US. He improved so much over the year, putting on some quality matches at least 3 times, that's more than majority of these giants who can't even walk properly! Love this guy man, he rules"
[7.0] "Technically a great big guy. Archer is good in the ring but is missing charisma. He didn't need that much charisma in Japan, where the focus is more on the wrestling and I really enjoyed his work there. However in AEW it's more imortant. At least they gave him Jake Roberts as a manager to do the promos for him."
[9.0] "I haven't watched or followed lance archer outside of AEW and after his debut last year i was impressed by his in ring work and his mic work pairing him with the legendary Jake the snake Robert gave him legitimacy his heel work was great when he first debut his face work is as great the squash he have on dark/elevation are extremely entertaining and funny"
[8.0] "He's a really fun big man who is kind of goofy in a good way. Instead of being all serious and stuff he seems like he's jacked up on Monster Energy and ready to smash people all the time."
[6.0] "Lance has pretty good charisma and can work reasonably well. I don't think he's anything spectacular, but he's definitely a solid upper-midcard talent who can have a good match with the right opponent. He became much more watchable when they switched him from "Generic Monster Heel" to "Pretty Good Monster Face"."
[7.0] "He's had a long career and is just now in the last couple years really starting to click. In both New Japan and AEW he has kind of the same role as a monster who puts over other stars, and the kind of role has a stigma around it but he might be the best one at it in a long time."
[7.0] "Archer has come a long way and his late time in New Japan as a singles wrestler really was an awakening for him. He's not only a fun "monster" wrestler but an underrated promo too."
[7.0] "In his Lance Hoyt days, dude was TERRIBLE lol, just a generic plodding big man with no personality behind him. It took a lot of years for the guy to improve: namely in Japan excursions to NOAH and NJPW. In Killer Elite, he was a alright brawler who played the heel foreigner role and he looked good in the 2013 G1, getting fairly decent matches. It was the last few years where I really felt like he put the steps together there, a great look with much improved ring work and personality meant that the Murderhawk was becoming a fairly big deal in NJPW as a monster heel. Naturally this hype got him to AEW, with Jake Roberts being his manager meant that his weak mic skills could be covered up, and his momentum grew.... up until he got the classic "Cody rub" and got relegated to Dark for months doing fuck all. It's sad, because Archer had the ring skills and monster status to make him a perfect champion to dominate his foes. He's a guy who's as good as the opponent he's facing against but he's usually able to stay on their level as long as he's not being thrown into dumb gimmick battles."
[7.0] "A quite underrated wrestler probably because for much of his career he has been limited to being a simple dominant powerhouse but as soon as they have given him freedom he has shown off with unthinkable movements for someone of his weight, a character development more than decent and a physical appearance that fits perfectly with this."
[8.0] "Archer has undergone an absolute career resurgence in the last couple of years. He was a fairly average tag team guy with Davey Boy Smith Jr. in NJPW as the Killer Elite Squad, but nothing particularly impressive. But once he was booked to compete in the G1 Climax 2019, he changed his whole gimmick. He was now the Murderhawk Monster, a crazy brawling maniac with a great look as well as in-ring work. He later came to AEW and connected with Jake the Snake Roberts, who is fantastic at getting over Archer's gimmick and crazed persona. Nothing prior to 2019 would have made me think that Archer had this kind of character in him, but I'm thrilled to have been wrong about him."
[8.0] "I only really seen lance in New Japan Pro Wrestling, but I loved him there. He reminds me of the undertaker, and really love that he walks the rope. I have not seen him in AEW since I do not follow that promotion often. If Archer is still anything like he was in NJPW then he is completely awesome in my books."
[7.0] "Currently commenting when his rating is 5. 64 and that is extremely too low. Lance Archer is a very solid mid-card worker with great size and agility to go along with it. He is capable of having some bangers with the right opponent, and has some value with character work as well. I get that he is an older talent (44), so there doesn't seem to be much untapped potential, but where he's currently at is way better than his rating on here suggests."
[8.0] "Great brawler with a killer gimmick, theme and look. His AEW association with Jake Roberts works well, despite their relationship being vastly underdeveloped. I crave to see how Archer works in front of a large crowd, but until then I enjoy his appearances. He has also gotten better on the microphone. I just wish he had a killer storyline and purpose in AEW as he feels underused (like unfortunately many of the huge roster)."
8 Punkte"
[9.0] "Lance Archer's G1 run in 2019 was absolutely outstanding. Out of everyone in that year, no one improved their stock more considerably than the Murderhawk Monster, forging himself into the most essential giant in Japan and if he'd stayed around to build on that, he could have been doing great work in the current NJPW scenes. Unfortunately, he's been slotted into a perpetually losing mid-card role in AEW (a company with many positives but an inability to book big men) and while he's still an elite talent, he needs a major shift to truly be up there with the great heavyweights."
[8.0] "In AEW Lance Archer is really good, he has the look, the gimmick, the in-ring abilities and can become a star. The current rating is way too low."
[8.0] "Shame his rating is so low, I love Archer's style. Work wise I think he's a modern day Taker, works like a big man without having an overly generic big man style. It's too bad it took him a while to find his stride in his career."
[7.0] "A very talented big guy that fits well as the "monster heel" of AEW. His pairing alongside Jake Roberts hasn't really done him much but there is still hope. His work in NJPW in Suzuki-gun is good."
[8.0] "He is a very good monster heel that can put good matches and have enough charisma and attitude to make you believe he is dangerous, very underrated worker."
[8.0] "Most people say here he is very boring. I don't get that tbh he is just a badass and very athletic considering his size. Big things to come in AEW for him"
[8.0] "He really improved from last time I saw him. In AEW he is being treated as a big heel which really fits him. He is big and has got a legend as his manager. Everything is going good for him but still he hasn't got any big feud though feud with cody was good but not enough to make him a supreme heel. Archer got that look and size they just need to put him in good feuds"
[7.0] "Archer has improved so much and since G1 29, you can see the changes. The G1 was a Really good platform for Archer to display his ability and it brought him right to the main card. He is big, agile and very powerful and gets over easily."
[10.0] "The big-time wrestler. I like it very much. It's a pity that it was revealed only late. After all, he is already 43 years old, and he still has not taken the main title. Very sad. I think he's as good as a lot of big wrestlers."
[9.0] "Lance archer is so great the last years . i would not even comment about his low rating . its funny that slow wrestlers with 2 moves like orton and miz have higher ratings than lance archer but whatever . He wrestlers so awesome even though he is 43 and he is so tall . i dont remeber a so tall wrestler being that good on the ring . His mic skills are his weak spot and he needs to improve on that ."
[2.0] "He has size and was alright in New Japan. Jake Roberts helps since Lance Archer is not good on the mic. But Lance Archer is still boring. He had no personality and no charisma and despite his size he is not intimidating. Maybe because he has a plain everyday look and is also boring. Starting to get a big push in AEW, but I don't think he is a good wrestler to push. He has size but is just not great in the ring and has no charisma at all."
[8.0] "I remember watching Archer in TNA under the names Dallas, Lance Hoyt, and Lance Rock, and he never once stood out. As time has passed, though, he's really come into his own, and become the rare wrestler who peaks in his 40s. He's an excellent monster heel now in AEW alongside Jake Roberts, who covers up his lack of mic skills, which would otherwise be his biggest drawback at this point."
[8.0] "Archer and his body of work as of recent times, has been off the charts. His G1 last year was spectacular for Lance, with not having a MOTY, but just having consistently great matches. He has a great move set and he works in his role well. Should have beat Cody though."
[9.0] "Great powerhouse wrestler that is also able to pull off moves you would never expect a 6'8 guy to be doing. After his great showing in the G1 last year he's become one of my favorite wrestlers, but i'm not sure if going to AEW was the right choise for him yet."
[8.0] "Since leaving TNA & WWE behind, Lance Archer finally found a strong foothold at New Japan. After his tag parter, Smith Jr. left the promotion, I only assumed he would be put with a new tag partner, but instead surprised us all with stellar performances at their G1 Climax. Though we don't know yet if his jump to AEW has paid off yet, aligning with someone like Jake the Snake will help make sure he doesn't stray from the path."
[8.0] "At the time of writing, this criminally low rating must surely due to his old "tramp-stamp Hoyt" days of TNA and cup of coffee in WWE. Since then Archer has had a mega run in the New Japan tag division with KES, cementing himself as a damn fine worker and talent in the 29th G1 tournament, putting on performances with a variety of wrestlers that far surpass this current middling rating. Early signs also point to success and further credibility in AEW. Great look and ring presence, getting across as a killer in the ring with an arsenal of moves to back it up."
[10.0] "Lance Archer is really underated wrestler. He's a big guy who knows how to sell and he is surprinsigly agile. He definitively deserved the "most improved" award. I think he will do a lot of great things in AEW and his pairing with Jake the snake was inspired."
[8.0] "2012: I really wanted this guy to go far by now, primarily because he's 1 of the most agile 6 foot '8+ guys I've seen in years (with the Undertaker being the standard bearer of such archetypes). He has the look, and particularly when he wrestled in TNA, he seemed to have plenty of surprises, such as pulling off moonsaults and van terminators with ease, to go along with being a decent powerhouse. His WWE run was nothing special, and I hope that a run in Japan will either go very far or have him return to the USA as a polished gem, but we'll see. 2020: He has become the definition of a late bloomer; 6'8, 270lbs, 43 years old, and still hitting moves that would rarely, if ever, be associated with his size and weight. Never mind becoming very entertaining as a powerhouse brawler. He has come into his own over the last year, and I look forward to seeing what he'll do in the years to come."
[7.0] "Unbelievably low rating. Ever since moving to singles competition in 2019 the guy has been impressive. Has the traits you want to see in a big man and then some. Hopefully this year he continues to exceed expectations."
[8.0] "You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who really cared about him as Dallas, Lance Hoyt, Vance Archer, or for even most his run with Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Suzuki-gun. But sometime around 2018, things started to shift and Archer turned himself into a very compelling singles competitor, culminating in his incredible G1 run in 2019 and a really solid United States Heavyweight title run that I wish had gotten a little more time. Really excited to see what he does in AEW."
[8.0] "I'm surprised by the rating this guy has. I only started watching his matches in October of 2018, but he was entertaining and did solid work as part of KES. I would have considered him a 7 then. However, in 2019 he consistently impressed me as a singles performer. He's very athletic and fun to watch, especially considering that he can do things that you wouldn't even expect from someone a foot shorter and 20 years younger."
[8.0] "After his break out year where he had incredible matches with Will Ospreay and a good one with Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom, I'd say any lower is criminal."
[10.0] "Lance Archer is exactly the type of hoss you want in wrestling. He has such a captivating presence and an insane look. He proved how underused he was in other companies while he's been in Japan. KES were a wildly fun tag team and Archer fit in perfectly with the Suzuki-Gun faction. Once DBSJ left he blossomed into my opinion, the best hoss in wrestling today. He can fly, he can be a powerhouse, he can be freakishly athletic, and he can play an extremely good bully, not to mention how good he is in crazy brawls. He's been allowed to show how good and intimidating he can be on the mic, especially after he delivered an early promo of the year candidate in a video package leading up to Wrestle Kingdom. This guy has it all at age 42, he is a complete wrestlers and 5 tool talent."
[8.0] "A solid worker! WWE did not use him properly. At first they used him in ECW and he did well with a few main event matches. When ECW shut down and teamed with Curt Hawkins he went downhill. Too bad his tenure did not last long in WWE. He is also success with Kid Kash in TNA, and his best work is in Japan."
[8.0] "He really broke out like crazy this year, putting on some great matches and his character is always entertaining from the fan interactions and is just a great big man."
[7.0] "I've slept on Archer for most of his career. Whether he was an undercard guy in TNA or a long-running part of the admittedly pretty bland NJPW heavyweight tag team division, he never really grabbed me as a performer. Then his 2019 NJPW solo push rolled around and hoo-boy did he ever turn my head. Hopefully he becomes like Tenryu and continues to become even better with age."
[7.0] "Has been really good as a singles talent this year. Used to not be a fan of this guy at all but he's really changed that over the past few months. A worthy US Champion for New Japan."
[9.0] "Archer fucking rules, idk what this 4. 92 rating is for him but whatever. Dude had a great G1 run having good matches with basically everybody in his block, made a kid cry in front of their parents, killed a bunch of young lions, and did like 20 batshit rope-walk flippy nonsense moonsaults at 6'8 264lbs. One of my favorite guys in NOOJ right now for sure."
[9.0] "Wildly underrated. For any doubters of Archers talent. Watch any of his G1 Climax 29 matches. Especially the Ospreay and Evil matches. This man is sneaky athletic. And has THE best chokeslam that has ever existed in wrestling. With a proper push behind Archer The sky would be the limit. EVERYBODY DIES"
[7.0] "I was never impressed with Lance Archer in WWE, nor did I think KES was an interesting tag team, so when he was announced in this year's G1, I wasn't thrilled. Man, was I surprised. Lance killed it this year. His movement was crisp, he pulled off some impressive moves for someone of his age and size, and he told fun stories in each of his matches. I would love to see him return for future tours and possibly be a contender for the US/NEVER titles."
[7.0] "Archer was one of the bests on the G1. The guy has improved a lot. He has everything that a monster heel needs. 6 points killed me. 6 points isn't enough for Archer, he deserved 8. I will not compare him with Fale, because it's obvious who is better. I'll give him a 7 because he can improve more, and some matches could have been better, but without any doubt he stole the show in the G1, he is athletic, he can do moonsaults, he is so so energetic... He earned a title shot against Okada at King of Pro Wrestling, and for the US title or the NEVER title... Archer deserves one of them."
[7.0] "Like many other fans watching G1, I am very impressed with Lance Archer's performance. He totally exceeds everyone's expectation. He is nothing and super forgettable even when he is paired with David Boy Smith Jr. But in this G1, his work is so good and consistent as already shown in all 9 matches he has. He is exactly what Fale should have been despite getting constant push in the last 5 years. He is athletic, strong, energetic, ambitious and especially he knows how to carry himself as a big monster. Really hope for what happens next for him. Now, I give a 7 as he already reaches the level of at least good."
[8.0] "Like many others, I've been very impressed with Archer's G1 run this year, putting on a number of really fun matches. In particular, his matches with Ospreay and Ibushi. I'm very much looking forward to what else he can do as a singles wrestler. More monster!"
[7.0] "The 2019 G1 Climax tournament has shown Archer to be a perfectly serviceable big man for New Japan. While I doubt he'll ever touch 5* I think he's proven himself and his doubters wrong this year."
[5.0] "This dude is no good, guys, stop overestimating him just because he can do Moonsaults, lol. Lance Archer is just a quick Bad Luck Fale, nothing else."
[7.0] "It amazes me how Bad Luck Fale has a higher rating than Lance Archer despite the fact that Lance has shown that he is clearly the better big man in the G1 Climax of this year. Nothing but really enjoyable matches which the best one was surely the one against Ospreay the first night of the G1, such an amazing match that no one expected to be that good"
[7.0] "Archer is the breakout performer in the 2019 G1 without a doubt. No one saw it coming & he has been one of the best thing about the tourney this year. He has a great monster look that can work well for many of the smaller guys to play off. It's taken Archer many years to find his footing, but now that he has something going I hope he & NJPW can capitalize."
[7.0] "I used to be among those who considered him an average big man but this G1 has been a great showcase of what Archer is capable of if he's matched up against opponents who can play to his strengths."
Insgesamt 7, 25/10 ? 7 Punkte."
[6.0] "This dude man he's been putting on some bangers in this G1 and I know in the past he was pretty trash but hes having an excellent 2019 if I do say so. Props to him for that."
[6.0] "While not a "great" wrestler, I find that a lot of the venom directed at Archer is unfair. Compared to other big-man wrestlers, Archer is in the top half and his run in TNA was fun (seeing a 6'8 man bust out missile dropkicks and moonsaults is a sight to behold). The NJPW tag team scene has always had diminishing returns so his work with DH Smith as KES should not be judged to harshly. All things considered Archer is a solid midcarder but belongs nowhere near the main event scene."
[6.0] "Very, very bad while in singles competition, very good when in tag team action with Davey-Boy Smith. Killer Elite Squad is one of the best tag team in the business, so why try to put Archer in singles matches?"
[8.0] "Pretty underrated here, always been a smooth and serviceable big man who can bust out some surprises to pop a crowd. His current role as a mean bastard in Suzuki-gun is one he performs well."
[9.0] "Archer is a great powerhouse. He has some incredible powerful moves on his arsenal, but he can show his athleticism, too, if necessary as evidenced in his matches at G1. Moreover, he also works perfectly as a mad heel with his unusual in ring acts."
[7.0] "I've always liked him, he's good in the ring, especially for his size. And I find that guy charismatic, I still believe he could have made a good champion for WWE but anyway he's been doing great in Japan. It surprises me to see Lance Archer/Hoyt with a rating of 4. 50 he deserves more ! He will not be remembered as a GREAT wrestler, but what he does, he does it well and entertain me."
[10.0] "Archer is a solid wrestler who is held back by the powerhouse archetype he is trying to fit into. He is definitely powerful, however he is also quite agile for a person of his size. A face run would surely do him good. Luckily, in Japan he has been able to break out of this powerhouse mold, showing his technical ability, as well as his fantastic tag team wrestling."
[5.0] "Archer/Hoyt has found his best success as a tag team specialist with a multitude of partners across various promotions - Dallas & Kid Kash and then the Rock 'n Rave Infection (w/Jimmy Rave) in TNA, Gatecrashers (w/Curt Hawkins) in WWE, and now the Killer Elite Squad (w/Davey Boy Smith Jr. ) in NJPW. Though he might not have quite the personality to break out as a single (a brief period during his TNA run where the crowd started taking to him notwithstanding), there's certainly nothing wrong with making your name in the tag team ranks."
[7.0] "Ignoring his forgettable, underwhelming time in WWE, the American Psycho has always been an impressive "big man. " From his early days in TNA to his phenomenal work on the American independent circuit and Japan, he has been solid and dependable in a way that few big men are"
[8.0] "Archer has improved a ton since he came to NJPW. He showed that in the G1 Climax, having several solid singles matches throughout the course of that tourney. KES is one of the best teams going right now, and Archer brings a lot of genuine menace to the table that his partner lacks in, which adds to their monster heel tag team persona."
[7.0] "Mister Underratet himself.
[7.0] "Seeing him in Japan shows that Lance has REALLY improved over the years. I always enjoyed the guy, in TNA as Dallas, Lance Hoyt, and Lance Rock, and even in WWE as the jobber Vance Archer. He's a big agile dude and is physically imposing. He's a perfect fit with Davey Boy Jr. as the Killer Elite Squad, and their match at Wrestle Kingdom 7 was top notch. Anyone who hasn't seen him lately should give him another chance"
[10.0] "Before I was never drawn to this guy when he was in TNA but now since he's come to WWE and he's now known as Vance Archer, I've been behind this guy 100% since then. He's a very intimidating presence and his promo skills (especially when he was on ECW with his low, kind of whispering voice) and his great talent and bad ass quality speaks for itself. Now he's in a great tag team with Curt Hawkins at the moment and they've been bestowed upon by Matt Striker as The Gate Crashers. I hope Vance Archer will be a tag team champion with Curt Hawkins since that's where they're going with him right now and the fact that those 2 have more potential to capture tag team gold than say The Usos or The Dudebusters even though The Dudebusters are not too far behind Hawkins and Archer, Hawkins and Archer are getting more over with the crowd and have a lot of potential to become tag team champions. HAWKINS & ARCHER = FUTURE WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!"
Derzeit in tag-Team-Action, was ihm eebnfalls gut steht.
Booooooooooooring²"
