[9.0] "Incredibly charismatic deathmatch worker across FMW, W*ING, Apache, and BJW. Beloved by crowds and a part of a ton of great matches."

[8.0] "Leaving aside his personal poor behaviour, I quite like WING as a hardcore worker. Had good matches with the likes of Cactus Jack and Masato Tanaka, was good at striking and power moves, was willing to take and deliver crazy punishment. Hardcore legend, just a shame about his backstage behaviour."

"I always kind of saw Kanemura as the Tommy Dreamer of Japaness hardcore. His earliest W*ING matches against Mr. Pogo, matches that saw Kanemura get completely obliterated, mirrored Dreamer's early attempts to prove he was "Extreme". After paying his dues and then some in those brutal matches Kanemura was embraced by the fans. Being part of Matsunaga's group didn't hurt. His time in FMW as part of TNR also stands out. While he may not possess much in the way of technical wrestling ability, Kanemura has shown time and again that he has some serious heart. One of the trailblazers of Japanese hardcore IMO"

[2.0] "Why is the rating so high for Kanemura? Because he was/is a hardcore icon? This guy couldn't wrestle; his half-assed hurricanrana was one of the worst things i've ever seen in wrestling. He landed legs first while doing the moonsault and besides the high-flying (! ) was overall pretty bad at performing any basic wrestling move. I'll give him credit for cutting himself up for the entertainment of others and him being a part of TNR maybe? Also considering the things i've heard about his personality and the sexual harresment case, this guy isn't worth talking about tbh."

[0.0] "Kanemura was a pretty bad wrestler all around: how he managed to land a huge guaranteed contract in FMW (rumored to be close to a million yen per month in mid 90's money) tells you how damn hot FMW was when Onita was running their shows. As it usually happened in that time frame Kanemura was more notable for his willingness to slice and dice himself than for his death match creativity, charisma or in-ring skills: that awful forehead of his tells you all you need to know. In BJW he was bad, like in really bad, since the deathmatch division had both new rising stars (Ryuji Ito to say one) and veterans of the scene (Shadow WX to say one) who were far better than Kanemura. Removed from FMW's mystique he was revealed as an aging chubby guy devoid of any charisma who was only notable for his tendency to cut himself open. Then there was the whole sexual harassment scandal as well, proving Kanemura is not merely bad in the ring but an idiot to boot. Honestly, screw this guy."

[4.0] "Kanemura was a decent brawler, if not outstanding, and he's still mostly known for either getting powerbombed onto flames back in 1993, or the sexual assault he perpetrated that almost ended his career."

[7.0] "Kanemura is entertaining hardcore and comedy seems is what he does best , shame he made a stupid mistake that almost cost him his career."
