T-Hawk

[8.0] "I think an 8 is a great score for a wrestler, and considering that this guy is not even 40 yet, it's very, very good. It seems to me that T-Hawk is one of those who is simply given to be a professional wrestler. Usually, when I hear that some handsome young and athletic guy has a cool arsenal of techniques, I roll my eyes, because in the modern world I can find a lot of such guys, but T-Hawk is exactly the kind of guy who has not only athleticism, but also the ability to tell a story, evoke emotions. Even in DRAGONGATE, in the early stages of his career, you could see something special about him, and people were vying to bet money that he was a future star, because he had literally everything any wrestler needed. He is so good that he has performed at a high level in different organizations with different styles and has done it consistently, even in GLEAT he has good matches. The problem is that he was the future of wrestling, and 16 years later he still is. I do not know what this is related to, and it seems to me that a lot is intertwined here. CIMA, who took the talented guys with him, in fact, to nowhere. He tried to create his own brand, but as a result, STRONG HEARTS did not become super popular and in demand. Just look at this outstanding line-up and ask yourself if they got enough. Besides, T-Hawk himself seemed to have become less interested in working at some point. His talent allowed him to show good matches without straining too much, and even now it is clear from T-Hawk's work and his title reign with G-REX that his ceiling is much higher, but Hawk himself does not want to leave his comfort zone and has been doing it even less often in recent years. I don't know if he's tired of performing, but it always seemed to me that it was, or maybe it's something else, but now I only sometimes see glimmers of former passion in his eyes. He's one of the biggest what-ifs for me. It seemed that he was destined to become a DG star, but the decision to leave with CIMA and the gradual fading of his love for his work took their toll. I sincerely believe that he still has a chance to climb to the top, but does he want to?"

[6.0] "T-Hawk previous rating was actually a seven six years ago but right now he must be dropped a little because he doesn't have any good performances lately but he is still fun to watch who will never be one of the best"

[7.0] "One of the many wrestlers that I credit with bringing me into Japanese wrestling. Looks good in the ring, holds himself well, and has the accolades to prove it! If he were to win the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship or find his way to becoming the Open the Dream Gate Championship in DRAGONGATE I'd be fine with it."

[9.0] "I first watched T-Hawk as a part of the Stronghearts when they appeared in AEW, I did enjoy that little run, however, I did not notice him too much in particular. I first started to realise how good he was in All Japan. Currently, he is killing it in AJPW and GLEAT, for a while it felt like he was being under-utilised in both promotions, but now he is G-Rex Champion, and a finalist in the Champion Carnival, beating the ace, Kento Miyahara on the way. Amazing wrestler, great power, brings a good energy, and some highflying, also he is incredible in tags with the Stronghearts. T-Hawk brings up the match, the tournament and the promotions he is in. The only thing keeping him from getting a 10 is that he hasn't had a five star match in my opinion."

[7.0] "If you go by the notion that the only bit of wrestling that matters is a wrestler's finisher, then T-Hawk is a 10. But of course, wrestling is far more than the last move hit during a match, and that is where the Strong Hearts member starts to falter ever so much. When he is in a multi-man tag environment, he's great, but when he's in a one-on-one match, he starts to shrink a little bit. If he can fine-tune his work in that area, I'll up his rating for sure."

[10.0] "Going to judge him based on his wrestling career after Dragon Gate, though it is important to mention his time in the company, where he was given chances to become a star but never seemed to have it in him. He has a great look and a tremendous moveset. His chops are vicious. He can cold clock a dude. One of his moves is to just yeet his opponent upside down. And the Cerberus, his running knee, while not as high flying as Kenny's V-Trigger, is downright cruel when it lands. He could have been Dragon Gates' next big thing, but it never panned out. He never reached that next level, despite winning their equivalent of the G-1 and main eventing Kobe World, their biggest event. Then again, the entire building was dead silent for his match. His personality just never reached the same level as the package it came with. And then, suddenly, he was gone. Taken by Cima along with a few other Dragon Gate stars to China to make a name for themselves there. I don't know what happened after he left but T-Hawk has found his stride while a part of the Strong Hearts stable and blossomed into one of Japan's best all around wrestlers. He's bloody incredible, and he comes across as a threat in any match he's in. His reign as the Wrestle-1 Champion was phenomenal, his matches with Shuji Kondo and Jiro Kuroshio were great. He may very well be Wrestle-1's greatest world champion and only Shotaro Ashino can match him in that department. His time in DDT has been fantastic to, and he's had great matches with pretty much everyone he's wrestled. As of the time of this review being written, he recently had a surprise banger against Kazuki Hirata, normally a comedy guy, which was the first time I ever saw Hirata have a straight, no nonsense singles match. I have heard a rumor that he's planning on retiring, and I do hope it's just a rumor, because he's nothing short of a pot of gold in wrestling. But at the same time, even if he does retire, he had one of the most amazing comeback stories in Professional Wrestling. He went from a failed ace to a self-made star. He's already set himself a place in wrestling as one of the best, and hopefully, if he does call it quits, he'll be remembered by the wrestling community for how bloody amazing he was."

[8.0] "Mix bag. He is okay, not great but can have good matches occasionally. He is in limbo of that DG style and the generic puro style and it leaves an underwhelming taste in people's mouths. He is much better in that tag team role rather than the big star ace of the company. Okay wrestler but could easily improve if DG/OWE every let him leave and work else where again. He needs that imo. [7.0] "As I'm writting this I consider this guy the best "under 25" wrestler from Japan, and therefore one of the bigest up & coming wrestler from that country. At 24 he already has a much better selling than most of the other Dragon Gate residents. I mean his selling is even better than a lot of guys from other companies as well. It's fascinating to think he got that good coming out from the dragon system dojo in selling! In a company that relies on spotfest most of the time and fails at creating epic 1 on 1, I think T-Hawk will make a huge impact through the contrast he can bring on that level. In addition, he's got the chops!"
