[5.0] "Have you ever in your life seen Robbie Brookside have a good match? Of course you haven't. Some of it is unfortunate timing in the fact he turned up just as the European scene was dying but its also because he just was never as good as his reputation suggests he is."

[10.0] "One of the finest technicians of his era, Robbie's longevity on the European scene was something to behold, as even in the 2000s he was still hanging in there with the best of them. Not only was he great in-between the ropes, but he managed to captivate the audience with not just his grappling and striking, but his charisma and great heel work that made him easy to root against. On top of being a great wrestler, he also turned into a great trainer, helping the likes of Nigel McGuinness and Nikki Cross amongst others"

[9.0] "If Robbie Brookside was hitting his prime now, in today's wrestling landscape, every major promotion on the planet would be thrilled to sign him. Decently tall, charismatic, great heel, great look (especially when he's had a bit of facial hair), exceptional technical wrestler, solid striker, even a great name; this is a guy who started wrestling in the mid 80s, whose look and work even going well into the 2000s wouldn't seem at all out of place in current-day NXT, AEW, Impact, ROH, NJPW, you name it. You could take Brookside in his 30s, slot him into Zack Sabre Jr. 's current spot in Suzuki-gun, into just about any title scene in NXT or AEW, into the upper card of any major British indie promotion in the pre-NXT UK boom, he'd fit like a glove. A real shame his stints in Japan and the US were as sporadic and short-lived as they were, and that footage of so much of his work has become hard to track down, especially in good quality."
