[0.0] "Rob Black is the only promoter I've ever seen that could make Ian Rotten look like Jim Crockett. I mean, that's saying a lot. All of Ian Rotten's faults, he's not on Rob Black's level of badness. Sheesh."

[0.0] "If Vince Russo failed miserably at shooting angles, what were the chances that Rob Black would do well (or even decently)? Rob Black is a poor imitation of Paul Heyman, lacking both the wit and decency that Paul possessed. And that's it; his sole motivation stemmed from the resentment he harbored toward Paul. Rob did terrible things to promote XPW. Black managed to attract most of ECW's talent after its bankruptcy, but even then, he couldn't put on a halfway decent show. And that says a lot."

[0.0] "Rob Black is a prime example of a wrestling mark owning a wrestling company. He originally owned a porn business (which I forget the name of), then watched ECW and said 'I could do that'. What Rob did was bring one of the shittiest promotion on the west coast. Xtreme Pro Wrestling is essentially ECW but shittier. He also ordered a hit on The Messiah which led to his thumb being cut off. Fuck Rob Black."

[5.0] "He has some good ideas but the biggest enemy to XPW has always been Rob Black. He gets too involved in his product because he's trying to be a Vince McMahon character but to the extreme. Sometimes it works but most of the time I'm like please just leave or stop talking."

I've seen several episodes of XPW and except for the commentator Larry Rivera, nothing has seemed remarkable to me (having great talents like; Sabu, Messiah, Steve Corino, Shane Douglas, etc...) horrible lighting, horrible production, Rob Black is the failure in wrestling. I'd just like to point out that the promo he did against Paul Heyman in 2000 is interesting in historical context."

The fact alone that he almost certainly put a hit on one of his former top stars, the Messiah resulting in Messiah having his finger cut off instead of being murdered just says enough about the kind of person Rob Black is."

He basically booked New Jack's attempted murder on Vic Grimes. I'm also one of the firm believers that believe he put a hit on Messiah which thankfully failed. That doesn't even include all the other awful shit that happened in the original XPW, or some of the awful shit Rob Black has been putting out with his newly revived promotion. This man is awful, no wonder Paul Heyman wanted to distance himself from this shitshow."

I don't want to go into his pornography career a great deal, though it is quite relevant to who he is as a person I'm pretty sure - I'm in favor of freedom of speech and generally against obscenity laws, but even on that, the stuff that he made sounds pretty deplorable, and he seems generally like a deplorable human being. But even removing that, XPW is one of the worst promotions to last multiple years in wrestling history, and while I'm not going to pretend I watched a great deal of its content to judge off of, what little I did see shows me that Rob Black is a terrible promo who mistakes shouting and expletives for "intensity" and "grittiness, " and lacks any of the actual speaking skills that a Paul Heyman brings to the table. He's awful at basically anything you can ask for - convincing interviews, business skills, good booking, good taste."

[0.0] "This guy has to be Ian Rotten's best friend for life. This bottom feeder is arguably one of the worst of the worst, if not the worst, promoter and detestable human beings to ever breathe our air. He somehow is worse than Ian Rotten and that takes some talent right there."
