Red Velvet

[5.0] "Her rating should be higher? I mean, she is not that bad to be here at that spot, come on. Just had a great match with Mercedes (I know everyone does but come on) and she appear a lot at CMLL promotion show that those guys saw something on her. I have huge faith on her talent, can still improve even more."

[8.0] "She's good. Fast, athletic, smooth, good at execution, striking, aerial moves and selling. The low ratings may have been fair years ago but they no longer match her skillset at all as she is very clearly much better than a 5. Watch her matches with Mercedes Mone and tell me she's not good, or even her match with Billie Starkz. She's at the very least a solid 7/10 and that's being generous. She has charisma, a good look, a great entrance, intensity and strong in-ring skills. Her promo skills are okay, not great but passable. I haven't heard many promos from her yet. ROH is nowhere near as promo heavy as WWE so that could be why."

[9.0] "She got too much too soon in AEW. That much is very clear by looking at her early career, but now in 2025 she has put the pieces together and will be great for years to come if she maintains her current pace. Coming off of her match with Mercedes Mone at ROH Final Battle 2025, 2026 could be a big year for her, and she just proved she is ready."

[8.0] "i'm really starting to love Red Velvet. I thought she was very mid from 2020-2023 but she REALLY stepped up and her two matches against Mercedes cermented that. She is quick paced, not afraid to take scary bumps and an incredible seller. If she keeps going like that, she should get pulled over to AEW TV in the second half of 2026."

[7.0] "Red Velvet has so much potential and may have already reached it if not for injuries the past few years. Her speed, bumping, and ability to portray tenacity are all S-Tier, it's just a matter of putting it all together. I'm glad to see ROH is now leaning into her boxing bloodlines a bit too."

[7.0] "Ever since coming back from injury red velvet has improved a TON. She just had a great match with mercedes mone as of writing this, and she has a pretty bright future if she can keep this production up"

[7.0] "Great match, as always with Moné it's just a shame she won't come back down to earth and drop a title once in a while. Red Velvet has improved a lot, but she's around 35 and I think she's close to her "prime, " if we can call it that. Anyway, at least in ROH she could've avoided blocking a title, because we all know that belt is hardly ever going to be defended. I don't know... good match though, really a shame about the result. With a Kris interference, they could've left the title on Velvet. Oh well..."

[5.0] "21.03.2022 Red Velvet has a good deal of potential, but is still a work in progress. She would benefit tremendously from working with more veteran performers. 7.10.2025 - She's worked a lot of matches with good talent in the last 3 years, and I don't think she's particularly improved, at least not in the ring. Her character work and promo skills have gotten markedly better, but she's still failing to impress me, and is being passed by not only in AEW, but also in RoH."

[6.0] "In ring and as a character she's improved a ton. Joining ROH has really helped her game and being the ROH women's tv champion has also given her a big boost of confidence as well. Definitely better off being a heel than a face where she floundered for a considerable amount of time. Compliments aside, is she among the top of the women's workers in AEW/ROH? No. Is she getting there? Hard to say, but she's closer now than she ever was before."

[3.0] "I find Red Velvet to be unremarkable in every way. She has a dime a dozen personality and her in ring skills are below average. She's not incapable of being carried to an okay match when working with better wrestlers but that's about the best I can say for her"

[9.0] "Been meaning to go back and rate Red Velvet for months, shes improved leaps and bounds since her return from injury and I cant let the old ratings stand. Red Velvet has a clear in ring style, high speed fast with boxing influence per her father and grandfather. Velvet also loves the camera and has found ways to make her moves play more and more to cam, especially with her leg choke in the corner. Shes also improved in promo and backstage vignettes, confident in her speaking and delivery. Would honestly argue shes an easy top 10 in AEW/ROH at this point and hopefully with the ROH TV deal will have more opportunity to let people know how good she is."

[7.0] "She's really improving since her return. Her match against Billie Starkz was very cool, I hope she's going to have a nice reign as the ROH Women's World Television Champion."

"[10.0] Red Velvet has emerged as a true force to be reckoned with. As a devoted fan, witnessing her evolution in the ring has been nothing short of thrilling.The departure of her tag partner, Jade, from the company might have been viewed as a setback, but for Red, it has become a catalyst for her solo ascent."

[6.0] "I think Red Velvet is a pretty good wrestler. In the ring she has good athleticism and does well in the ring. She hasn't been booked that well in AEW nor has she proven herself in terms of mic skills and charisma."

[5.0] "Other than being really athletic, is there something to remember about her ? She's not bad but everything about her is uninteresting and she has no charisma, no interesting character, average acting and her ring skills are decent at best. I only remember when she was with Brandi Rhodes but only because of how annoying she was, now shes not as annoying as before but just forgettable."

[8.0] "No idea why she's rated so low. I think that, even thought they came around at the same time and in that Shaq match, she's better than Jade. Has athleticism, instincts, and beauty are her assets; what's not to like?"

[5.0] "She improved a lot, but still a mediocre wrestler. Let's just wait and see if she can keep performing well and receive best opportunities in her career."

[6.0] "Velvet has improved by leaps and bounds in the last year, and it's a real shame that injuries took her out when she was really starting to establish herself as a viable in-ring performer. In the ring, she's moving with more confidence and has found a moveset that works for her. And outside of the ring, she's gotten much more charismatic. Like I said, it's a shame that she got hurt, because she was the most entertaining part of Jade and the Baddies."

[6.0] "Red Velvet is an average wrestler with a gimmick that really fits her. The presence of this woman is powerful, and I really liked her when she debuted in AEW. When she joined the Baddies, I was skeptical, and she spent most of her time in injury, with no real effect on the group. It already looks like she's leaving the group, which is kinda sad. I really wish she'd improve and be used better."

[10.0] "My favorite AEW wrestler. She is majestic. He was amazing when he was babyface and now heel just got better. An impeccable sell and a mesmerizing move-set. Needs to improve on the microphone but has a bright future."

[7.0] "Definitely on the upswing in 2022! Feels like she's quietly improved significantly recently and is looking really good especially when she's in the ring with someone slightly above her level. It's only a matter of time before this rating improves."

[4.0] "She's not horrible like people make her out to be but she'll never be over. I feel like she was put on the main roster too early, there are other women on the roster that are younger and better. I feel like her friendship with Brandi has helped keep her on the main show as opposed to being stuck on dark every week. Now that Brandi is gone we'll see how much faith backstage really has in her. She also has a lot of botches for being a 6 year vet in the industry."

[2.0] "Red Velvet is never going to be a thing and AEW needs to stop trying to make her a thing. She's godawful."

[3.0] "AEW gave her too many chances last several months but still she is terrible in ring and she is more terrible when she holds a mic."

[7.0] "I like Velvet. She's small but athletic and really lays it in instead of going through the motions like many female wrestlers. She reminds me of Sasha Banks a little. She has a lot of fire but tries to do too much sometimes."

[7.0] "Red Velvet has one thing going for her, and that's effort. She puts in 110% into every single match, even if it's a 4-minute nothing match on Dark, both her physical performance and her personality. Sometimes she tries to impress a little too much and has moments that may seem a little forced or out of her wheelhouse, but that attitude will suit her well as she gets more experience and popularity. I can definitely say that her matches are never boring, and one day she'll be able to put on these epics that she clearly wants to be working."

"Red Velvet is a decent performer and athlete but there are many problems with the overall picture presented in AEW. A good point is a way she performed moves. She does strikes with oomph to it and I like that. Unfortunately, though, AEW put her in a top position of females while she was still green and she didn't live up to it. Her matches are full of botched moves. One of which looked scary. Another issue is her character. She comes out from the back and dances like an adult dancer. And she rubs me as a cocky heel, not a babyface which is what AEW books her as. It's impossible to take her seriously, and I'm under the impression that she is some sort of stand in for Brandi Rhodes"

[3.0] "Red Velvet is really green in everything she does. AEW give her chance after chance but every time she ends up in the background. Weak cliche promos and poor ring skill with thousand of botches. She had the only nice match with Serena Deeb, which Serena pulled on herself."

[3.0] "In many ways Red Velvet embodies everything that's wrong about the AEW women's division: I am sure she's a good person and a hard worker, and she gets one extra point for that, but she's just bad all around. Worse than bad: she makes me want to skip her matches and promos, which in wrestling is much worse than being a poor worker. If you cannot generate buzz... you are in serious troubles. The generally erratic AEW booking and complete lack of objectivity from AEW fans and haters alike compound the problem even further, with Jade Cargill acting as a grizzled veteran holding multiple awards protecting the business just being the icing on the cake. If this is what Emi Sakura has to work with it may just be the most formidable task of her career."

[2.0] "I gave her a fair chance, but following an AWFUL performance against a re-debuting Jamie Hayter in AEW, I can confidently say thaf there is nothing here. Red Velvet is a bad wrestler."

[4.0] "I don't know what AEW sees in Red Velvet. She can always find herself a good spot on card and i don't remember any good match of her."

[6.0] "I see a lot of potential in Red Velvet. Still a bit green, but she is improving with every match and is a really natural babyface. Has developed some genuine in-ring chemistry with Jade Cargill who is at the start of her career, as evidenced in their solid singles match. Also had an excellent match with Serena Deeb, perhaps the match of her career to date. With the right focus and working with quality opponents Velvet could one day be the face of the AEW women's division."

[7.0] "Still a little green but she's pretty talented! Her match with Serena Deeb was very goo, and I think she has a bright future in the AEW Women's Division."

[7.0] "She is so talented and she has been so impressive in aew the last few months. I don't understand why so many have rated her like 4/10, that's unfair cause she has some great high-flying moves and great selling."

[4.0] "Slightly below average in terms of how much I look forward to seeing a performer. Just because she has the name "Red Velvett" doesn't mean I need to hear a million baking puns every time she wants to cut a promo. Someone who lacks size the way she does really needs to be able to make it up with ability & though I don't think she's terrible, what I have seen is extremely basic."

[4.0] "Red Velvet has done some solid in-ring work this year at AEW, but her character work is more often than not a reliance on the same action of pinning her opponent and "stiring the pot, " which comes off as kind of rediculous. However, with some solid work, she should end up an eventual satisfactory addition to the women's division."

[6.0] "I was impressed by what I saw from her on AEW Dark. She is athletic and quick, and I think would be a good asset to their women? s division if they were to sign her. Room for improvement is there."
