[4.0] "4 out of 10 is "adequate" in CageMatch terms, and I think that's fair and accurate when it comes to Dennis Knight. He was a big guy who could have a decent match, but that was about the limit. He was saddled with some terrible gimmicks (Godwinns, Naked Mideon), but the truth is he probably wouldn't have acheived much more than he did no matter the circumstances. And let's not forget he managed 2 years in WCW and 5 in WWE, which is not a bad run in the grand scheme of things. Ultimately he didn't have the charisma, in-ring ability, mic skills, athleticisim or look to main-event, or to even rise to the midcard, but he still had more success in the business than most, by making it on to TV at all, so plenty to be proud of, but in terms of his overall quality as a professional wrestler, a 4 feels like the right number."

[6.0] "I tried giving Dennis Knight (aka Tex Slazenger, Mideon) a 10 in an attempt to start off-setting some of the unfair super-low ratings he's received here on cagematch. Apparently this is against cagematch's rules for ratings, so I've changed my rating to a 6. I'm kind of on the fence between 6 & 7. I see Dennis Knight as a competent brawler, whose best work was done in his tag team with Mark Canterbury (Henry O. Godwinn, Shanghai Pierce). Nothing too fancy, but he was a big believable dude. As the stringy haired Tex Slazenger, Knight was a staple on WCW Saturday Night in the early 90's, alongside partner Shanghai Pierce. When Canterbury debuted in the WWF as pig farmer Henry O. Godwinn (yes, HOG) he was initially a heel, but soon turned face. His habit of "slopping" other wrestlers or on-screen personalities always got a reaction. I mean c'mon, who doesn't like watching someone get slopped? At some point Canterbury was joined by his "brother" Dennis Knight, now Phineas I. Godwinn (yes, that spells PIG lol). Nobody has ever said that the majority of WWF gimmicks in the early to mid 90's were particularly inspired. But the Godwinns were a fun team to watch. Vince McMahon always had a soft spot for southern stereotypes, perhaps from growing up watching the Scufflin' Hillbillies in NY as a child. First we got Hillbilly Jim and his clan in the 80's. The Godwinns, who at one point would be joined by Uncle Cletus (Tony Anthony, in a role slightly less humiliating than plumber TL Hopper) would basically be the 90's version. There must have been an injury or injuries, for whatever reason both men were off TV for a period of time, resurfacing as "Southern Justice". Well-dressed muscle for a newly serious Jeff Jarrett, Southern Justice had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was not to be. I believe Canterbury was injured during the infamous Brawl For All, and he would soon be gone from the company for good. The next time we saw Knight would be as a member of the Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness, now using the name Mideon. I know that Knight was legitimately friends with Taker, the Godwinns had been members of BSK, so this may have helped him get a spot in the Ministry. They got a lot of TV time, but Mideon was usually just acting as one of Taker's goons. Mideon was never given much of note to do. They did make one change to the Mideon character, and this is what most people probably remember. He began running to ringside during random matches, wearing only a fanny pack and possibly a g-string or something of the sort. Yes, I'm talking about "Naked Mideon". That development had Vince Russo written all over it. Anyway, I was just surprised to see Knight getting absolutely no love on here. At least he looked the part, which is more than I can say for at least 90% of today's talent. The guy was not anything to write home about, but he wasn't THAT BAD. I have a TON of respect for wrestlers of that generation"

[6.0] "Very much so into his run as Tex Slazenger, great stuff with Shanghai Peirce. Same basic statement said again for impact: His early WCW tag work with long time partner Mark Canterbury will always be something I'll enjoy watching. Ironically from there, we go south...and rapidly. Phineas I Godwinn, PIG; what a stupid name. I never liked the country bumpkin gimmicks. Hillbilly Jim I guess is as good as that LAME gimmick could ever get; but I digress. Then he was a lackey for Jeff Jarrett (ouch), thankfully that was short lived and we moved onto Mideon, which was at least not a downgrade? Eventually we were given "naked" Mideon and sheesh. Yah this guy peaked in WCW, how often do you hear THAT? Edited/Score elevated for this reasoning: WCW material = 8.75 WWF material = 2.25 divided by 2 is a 5.5 rounded up. I should not let his WWF tenure sour how much I loved his WCW stuff."

Could he have a great match, no, but was he passable a good portion of the time.. Naked Mideon was dumb, and overall his skillset was limited in his roles, but his entertainment value made up for it."

As Mideon he tired to have success but did not go anywhere except become the European Champion as it was given to him. The Naked gimmick as dreadful. His moves were actually not that bad."

[3.0] "Dennis Knight will probably remain best remembered for his tag team work alongside Mark Canterbury under various names and gimmicks, most notably as the Godwinns. Like his partner, Knight had a rugged brawling style and a look to compliment the gimmicks he played. After Canterbury's initial retirement due to neck injuries, Knight was repackaged as Mideon, a second-string member of the Undertaker's Ministry, where he primarily served as a heavy/warm body/fall guy. Other than an unremarkable reign with the European Title, Mideon remained a secondary player, and post-Ministry attempts to repackage him again (including the ill-advised streaker gimmick "Naked Mideon") amounted to little. Since departing WWE in the early 2000s, he has appeared only sporadically on the indy scene."
