[7.0] "Make no bone about it: his work in NJPW and SWS is truly excellent. He was a great cruiserweight. But after he joined UWF-I he became what I call a "whatever" wrestler. I don't know exactly what went wrong: perhaps his body was already wearing out or perhaps he went Inoki-crazy and couldn't decide if he wanted to be a pro-wrestler or an MMA fighter or perhaps it was just me growing tired of shoot style rather quickly. His long NOAH run was good but below expectations: Sano delivered solid performance after solid performance but it always felt like that something was missing. At this point it was clear he was a good wrestler, sometimes even a great one, but he surely was not a phenomenon like Jushin Liger."

[9.0] "Sano's rating on here is sickening. Extremely versatile worker who worked well with Juniors or heavyweights and was a reliable hand wherever he went, doing shoot style in UWF, working junior sprints with Liger in New Japan or doing epic main events with Kobashi in Noah. 1 of the most underrated wrestlers of all time."

[9.0] "Probably the most underrated worker on Cagematch. His matches with Liger in NJPW are classics and whilst his NOAH run wasn't a great success, he was a strong worker and delivered night after night."

[8.0] "I kind of wanted more out of his NOAH heavyweight career but his work in SWS PWFG and NJPW are all phenomenal."
