[5.0] "Was better wrestling as Mr. X, but when he got fired as referee, and became a wrestler in referee tights, I started to lose interest in Danny Davis. Lot of his moves looked sloppy and sometimes weak. Wasn't super terrible in the ring, but sometimes he just looks awkward in the ring. Seeing a referee beating the shit out of guys like Koko B. Ware, Brady Boone, Lanny Poffo, and Sam Houston was just the ultimate burial. Oh, and speaking of Sam Houston, Davis, and Houston had a small rivalry that lasted from Fall 87 through Spring 89. Nothing special in their feud, and none of their matches were great. And again, I think Mr. X's persona was better than the Danny Davis wrestling persona. Even the Mr. X attire looked so much better."

[7.0] "Mr. X was ahead of his time with a plethora of springboard maneuvers that you almost never saw until the late 90's. For this reason alone he has earned a special place. As a youth I deeply hated the referee turned wrestler, I could not stand him and LOVED when he got his ass stomped to the ground. What a heel! What a tremendous coward, all with that disgusting smirk and hideous ring attire. One of the best at being just a crappy, near useless, bargain bin bruiser with little to no skill who has no business in the ring... but alas, that was all but a charade; as Mr. X, he proved he had the skills and could do it all (for his size anyway). Underrated heel enhancement talent, I still love watching him lose. 6.75"

But he was just a pathetic weakling like a Glass Joe that needed help from his stable buddies to survive. It's comical that after he got reinstated as a referee, he would sometimes take a ref bump and be out of it from a shoulder block for 2-3 minutes, when just a year or 3 earlier, he was getting tombstoned to oblivion by Dynamite Kid and still managed to regain consciousness to score the pin for the team. Maybe everybody should have just thrown shoulder blocks to knock him out immediately and get the easy pins?"
