[6.0] "I just can not pinpoint where does Mio Shirai actually shine where she is worthy of her high rating here on this website. She is at best ok wether it is at her first run or since she came back and especially now"

[5.0] "Massively overrated wrestler on here. I admire her for overcoming the injuries she's had to deal with, but her ratings suggest she's on par with her sister and wrestlers like Kitto & Kana who are far better than her. Mio has never had an interesting match or a match where I can say she was the most entertaining wrestler there, she's always just 'there'. Not a bad wrestler by any means, but she's just ok. She used to have some explosiveness but all of that has faded in time. Also, this doesn't factor into my rating, but she's a shithead of a human being. So yeah."

"The best to ever do it. Hearing her have some of the biggest reactions warms my heart, she's coming on par with Rhea Ripley in terms of face of the division."

[6.0] "I'm starting to suspect that a lot of these cagematch ratings for the women aren't based on their abilities. Mio's rating suggests she's almost as great as Io & Kana. She wasn't, ever. Her rating suggests she's better than the likes of Kurihara & Taiyo, her same-era peers. She wasn't, ever. Her rating suggests she's better than Bull Nakano. I mean, do I really need to keep going here? A competent wrestler who doesn't have a single 8.0+ match rating here yet somehow finds herself with a 9.0+ rating. No. Just, no."

[10.0] "I adore seeing Mio still around the scene these days after her career was cut short due to injury. Mio is a great hand as a coach for Ice Ribbon, as well as their primary referee, and even suits up for exhibitions and low-impact low-risk comedy matches. I'm glad she opted to stick around, even after being forced into retirement, to share her knowledge. [August 10, 2024 edit: She's been stepping back into the ring more and more, and has looked fantastic every time. Considering her contributions to training wrestlers and her own skills, it's time to give her the upgrade she deserves - to a 10.]"

[9.0] "The Matt Hardy of the Shirai sisters, less flashy and accomplished, but also more grounded to reality. Mio is an interesting one to say the least, at the start of Triple Tails she seemed like the brains behind the operation, with little sister Io being the spirit and Kana being the heart. Once everyone went their separate ways, Mio became a jack of all trades. Doing everything from hardcore matches to becoming a tag-team specialist of sorts. Certainly an accomplished wrestler in her own right, and she had great chemistry with one Hikaru Shida. Due to severe injuries the career of Mio was fairly short. Yet she found new life as a referee, thus the Shirai family name is still strong over in Japan. A tricky one to rate, but a great technician that could tell stories incredibly well. A light 9.0/10 seems fair, Mio found her own groove and avoided the trappings of being the dreaded "Jannetty" of her tag teams. Granted, Io genuinely seems more fun to be around, as family drama was unavoidable by all accounts. Regardless, Mio has earned her place as a great worker with an understated yet cool charisma."

[8.0] "Mio Shirai has a problem: her sister. Being the sibling of the best joshi wrestler of all times is not easy, especially when your own career was cut short by injuries meaning you were prevented from realizing your own potential. In her own right she was an absolutely outstanding wrestler with what can only be called an occasional savage streak which made for excellent matches against hard strikers such as Hikaru Shida, Kana and Ayako Hamada. She had no problem being a single competitors, being in tag matches or even trios (Triple Tails) resulting in a large body of work of quality ranging from good to exceptional. Oh, and as much I shouldn't be typing this in 2019 she wasn't exactly hard on the eyes. All in all an outstanding wrestler who only lacked luck to be considered an all time great."
