Mike Mondo

"Was so all-around good, that WWE regularly sent him to THQ headquarters in California to do motion capture for the Smackdown video games - because he could do everybody's shit. And so, you'd think an uber talented worker entrusted with such tasks would be booked prominently on the card as a serious competitor. But you would be wrong - they put him in male cheerleader digs with four other bums and fed him to Triple H and Shawn Michaels. You see, the two were returning to their roots - that 2 year phase in the late 90s where they ripped off the infinitely cooler and more important nWo, said cuss words and pointed to their crotches. And that kinda says it all about what WWE really thinks of pro wrestling - the business they claim to be involved in."

[7.0] "I think he gets judged too much for his WWE run. Mondo was a member of the Spirit Squad who never got a chance after that. That being said he was a good wrestler afterwards in ROH and is now one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the current NWA. While his mic skills are not going to stand out he oozes charisma."

[6.0] "No Fear Mike Mondo was good in ROH, he had a small guy presence and no doubt kicked ass. Unfortunately type-cased as the spirit squad guy next to Kenny."

[6.0] "While still best remembered for his time as part of the Spirit Squad in WWE, Mondo may well have been that group's most underrated member; despite lacking the stature or personality of some of the other group members, he was a capable wrestler in his own right and ultimately he and Kenny emerged as the primary tag team within the group. During a somewhat brief but productive run with ROH in the early 2010s, Mondo showed more personality and a more aggressive heel persona, as well as some decent mic skill. In more recent years he's remained busy on the Northeastern independent circuit and has begun regularly tagging with fellow Spirit Squad alum Kenny again, which has led to guest spots with WWE and ROH as well as a recent signing with MLW. Overall a solid tag specialist who can work singles when needed."

[7.0] "Mondo is very good in the ring. He shown that he was capable of having great matches in ROH. Though he does cut horrible promos and should be kept away from a microphone."

[8.0] "I have no earthly understanding of how anyone as truly talented as Mondo could be ranked so low. Be it his days as the workhorse of The Spirit Squad, his days as "The Giant Killer", his days simply being the best wrestler in OVW, his days being ROH's best kept secret, to his career as it now stands, Mondo has always been one to watch and one to guarantee a good performance. Mondo is the shit. Point blank. And anyone who doesn't feel that way probably hasn't seen a lot of his work."

He didn't quite stand out as a part of the Spirit Squad, however, in Ring of Honor, and a few years of training, he showed that he is talented beyond what anyone thought initially. He has a boat-load of charisma, and is such a talented wrestler."

[9.0] "The Spirit Squad are long gone. Mike Mondo is a force to be reckoned with. Following a star-making performance against Kevin Steen for the World Championship on ROH TV, I'm just waiting for the lighting quick Mondo to start picking up big wins on ROH TV and PPV, becoming a real name for the promotion. With a dreadful and high profile debut and a questionable image, Mondo is very easy to dislike on a first look... but see a few matches and your mind will likely change."

[7.0] "He is one of the good things about ROH, he has charisma which is ten times as important than in ring skills and his in ring skills have improved quite a bit if that matters to you."

[7.0] "When I was 15 and 16 years old, I used to watch Mike Mondo in WWE when he was a part of the Spirit Squad and even though he wasn't the most talented wrestler in that stable, he was probably the most athletic guy out of all of them until Dolph Ziggler became a hell of a lot better than he was back then. Now that he's in Ring Of Honor, I'm starting to really see his abilities firsthand. He's not the best talker on the microphone, I'm not going to beat around the bush, but when he's in the ring wrestling, I think that's definitely his strong point cause he has great wrestling ability so he has the ability to put on good matches! With his great skills and talents in the ring, I just really wish he had more charisma than what he actually has."
