Mason Rook

[9.0] "Mason Rook gets more criticism for his look than for his in-ring ability, which is a shame because he's actually a very versatile performer. He's not just a powerhouse; he's unusually athletic for his size and has a surprisingly diverse moveset. His offense has a good combination of strength, explosiveness, and athleticism, allowing him to work at a faster pace than you'd expect from someone with his build. He's particularly effective when using power moves because his size gives them natural credibility, but he isn't dependent on them. His mobility allows him to incorporate more athletic offense and makes him feel considerably more well-rounded than the stereotypical big man. He also generally executes his offense cleanly and convincingly. Where he is more limited is his overall presentation. He is somewhat lacking in charisma and doesn't have the same natural presence or personality as more established stars. His look also isn't conventionally impressive by wrestling standards, which probably contributes to people underrating him before really paying attention to his matches. However, neither of those things should overshadow how capable he actually is in the ring. Overall, Rook is a much better wrestler than his reputation might suggest. His combination of size, power, athleticism, and versatility gives him a strong foundation; developing more charisma and a more distinctive personality would make him a considerably more complete performer."

[8.0] "I love that NXT brought this fella on board. I LOVED his stuff on NOAH! (I just wish he coulda kept Will Kroos AND his AWESOME MULLET when he jumped to NXT) But this dude is good! Enjoy the fella!"

[8.0] "Great wrestler, but man they have to change his image and i really wonder why they cut his mullet off. Other than his ring attire and his haircut, I am impressed by this guy and I think he has a big future ahead of him."

[10.0] "I enjoyed this big guy. I mean yeah his ring gear is atrocious and all of that, but if you would look at the accomplishments this guy has, you would be amazed how much dedication he does. Unfortunately, the iwc don't like this guy basically due to his appearance."

[10.0] "Damn good wrestler with loads of charisma and is a high flyer despite his weight and can work on the mic due to his experience. but the man gets shit on because of his looks, since he could never grow a beard and the fact that he cut off his iconic mullet which i hope he can bring it back."

[9.0] "Mason is a giant, yet he pulls off moves that even many high-flyers can't execute. He's the total package highly skilled and excellent on the mic. The only issue right now(and this falls on WWE and the creative team)is that he was turned into a loser too quickly."

[10.0] "When you have John Cena praising you heavily and making you look like one of the biggest things that the WWE has had in awhile, that's something, the hate towards his name is so overblown and just plain wrong in some eyes, he's young, has lots of years still to go, and he will be a massive draw one day, I can see it already, I trust the man no doubt, he's a Big Mon, just goated."

[5.0] "He's got some flash in his moveset, but is far from a complete package. He has size and potential, hopefully his time as a developmental wrestler brings his pieces together. He's in the correct spot, let's see what he does with it."

[3.0] "I have no questions about his ring-skill, but I don't see any charisma in him, he reminds me Bray Wyatt when he was Husky Harris, but in terms of 2026, Husky Harris looked like grown-up man who drinks bear and watch TV everyday lying down on the couch, Rook looks like a girl from LGBTQ+ community, I don't care about his weight, because he's a Powerhouse and Bronson Reed for example looks good being powerhouse and has charisma, but judging Rook only because his looking is wrong, there's something bigger - is lack of charisma"

[3.0] "Have seen several dozen of his matches from the UK & NOAH, along with the 2 matches he's had in NXT thus far, so I'm not jumping on the recent Rook bashing bandwagon. It just can't be denied that there are a number of issues with every aspect of his work in the ring, his look and his lack of ability on the mic. The guy is green as green can be. Before I continue I just want to make clear that "green as green can be" can be used to describe a good number of other wrestlers on NXT, WWE & AEW TV at the moment too. It's not just Mason Rook by a long shot, but he really has stood out in recent weeks as someone who isn't ready for national TV. Anyone following his work on the indies has seen that Rook seems to be hopelessly stuck in the same "rush from one spot to the next, psychology be damned" headspace that countless other modern wrestlers have gotten stuck in. Rook was totally exposed in the match against EVIL/Naruka. Watch the spot where Rook sits on the top rope in front of Naruka looking lost and literally waiting for poor Naruka to have to awkwardly climb onto his shoulder for a top rope powerslam. Rook's facial expression while sitting on the top rope made me chuckle, but you can't help but feel a bit bad for the lad too. In my opinion Rook, along with many newcomers to NXT, is a loooong ways away from being ready for the main roster. His choice of gear is also mind bogglingly unflattering. I'm embarrassed for the big guy in that singlet. The comparisons to a rookie Bam Bam Bigelow, Vader or Samoa Joe could not be more inaccurate. There's nothing intimidating about Rook at all. A beard and some serious time in a legit training program would go a long long way. I'm baffled as to why they put him on NXT TV right off the bat. Will reassess in a year or two and hopefully have more positive things to say"

[5.0] "Nobody can be surprised by such a big guy's flips and dives. So Mason can do these moves, so what? Kevin Owens can do these one too, and Bronson too, AND OTIS TOO. Mason seems a little bit overrated right now. He also has a zero charisma in the ring and can't read a good promo.."

[8.0] "He is big, he's bad, he'll bodyslam your dad. When John Cena tells me someone is special then I believe it, but I got to watch for myself. And he is truly special. He looks and moves like nobody else and he is super exciting and has energized tuesday nights."

[0.0] "He's so overrated! I don't think he's great AT ALL in the ring, and he's an even more terrible talker. I don't see him doing much of anything in NXT, let alone WWE. On a roster full of talented people, he does stick out, but not for the right reasons, instead for how not good he is, and how big he is, which is offsetting."

[7.0] "This is a very cool wrestler. Look at the highlights of how he performs moves that many wrestlers who weigh less than him can't perform, and you'll understand. I hate the fact that many people find it cool to categorize him as a member of various non-wrestling communities just because of his appearance. Let him be himself and show all the haters that he should be judged based on his performances, not just on first glance. I can't give him a higher rating yet, as we haven't seen him perform in NXT TV matches, but he definitely deserves a high rating."

[7.0] "Now, this is gonna be a hard one to rate. I think that as Will Kroos, he's a nine. Just a big and strong yet deceptively agile monster. However, a lot of what made him popular, like his moves that ended in people falling right on their necks (so most of his moves) will most likely be stripped away in NXT. This is also sort of a personal gripe but I don't like that they took away his mullet. God forbid a man have swag. Nonetheless, it's a bit hard to rate him now, so I'll be giving him a seven."

[5.0] "I am only familiar with Will Kroos during his few appearances with NOAH. He is average at best nothing special"

[8.0] "I've always loved Will Kroos. He's always been so underrated to me on the indie scenes, and, as we've seen with his NXT debut, he moves like a man half his size, and it was great to see that NOAH, and now WWE, have given him a chance. A lot of his promos are really authentic. Hopefully he gets built up well."

[9.0] "After seeing his highlights, I'm investing my stocks in this man; he has the size, agility, and look of a star. I think he's going to be great in WWE after his debut. He has a crazy buzz as everyone believes in him. I pray WWE doesn't fumble this because, seeing what I've seen, this is a monster of a wrestler. Wishing him the best of luck in his WWE Career."
