Krule

[7.0] "I've rarely seen a situation that could move mountains like the one I witnessed recently. The first time I saw Krule, he seemed pretty ordinary. I'd describe Krule as "Kane, but if he were doing a Deathmatch." His gimmick is rarely seen in Deathmatch: a giant monster wearing a mask who can withstand a lot of punishment. Then I saw what happened at the Berwyn Eagles Club, read Krule's apology, and I can understand and say with absolute certainty that Krule doesn't deserve to be lynched or hanged. Did he act unprofessionally? Yes. But the fan was always threatening and confronted Krule. The fan had already been harassing Krule before the altercation. Sadly, for wrestling fans in Berwyn, they won't be able to attend any more wrestling shows at the venue. This situation is huge; It led to the public shaming of a fan (who wasn't innocent), as well as the Berwyn Eagles Club refusing to put on any more wrestling shows, and at the last show, there was a surprise appearance by Seth Rollins. I hope Krule recovers from this situation and moves on. Edit: Look, I removed my rating because of the incident, but thinking about it, I don't care about this incident. I don't watch wrestling in Illinois, I didn't even know that venue existed. It doesn't affect me, I know it affects others. One less wrestling venue, you still have 100 others to go to."

"If early Kane was basically just Jason Voorhees--a disfigured, emotionally traumatized, bitter, vengeful monster--then Krule is Michael Myers: Not turned evil from childhood trauma but *born* evil, hurting people just because he derives some strange, sick pleasure from it. That's awesome. His character work, even while wearing a mask that covers his entire face except his eyes, is truly terrifying and awesome. Much like Kane and Abyss and the Undertaker, the man just "gets" how to be this character. The fact that he works deathmatches makes it even better, because his intimidating no-selling of stuff like gusset plates and barbed wire always gets a pop out of me, just like Jason or Michael no-selling an ax through the brain or whatever. It fucking rules. Is he a great wrestler? Fuck no. Is he a great performer? Fuck yes. Aura, presence, ambience, vibes, call it what you want. We need more guys like Krule. Not that type of character necessarily (in fact having more than one or two guys like Krule would dilute the whole thing), but people who understand character work and how to stand out among the dozens of interchangeable, good-yet-unremarkable wrestlers that make up a good part of the larger indie feds. EDIT: After the fake stabbing fiasco I'm just gonna remove my 8 rating and leave a comment only. OK yeah sure he apologized but that was how many weeks later? If he had made it clear what happened, ya know, as soon as the news broke out, then a lot of people would've probably been saved a lot of heartache and headache. It's a bummer because he's so damn good as a performer. This whole incident will leave a very bad taste in my mouth for a long time."

"I've actually rather liked Krule's work on the indies as a proper throwback to the "this huge dude in a mask is crazy and destroys people" gimmicks you saw a lot more often before Kane overexposed it. But with the details we have about the incident that blacklisted wrestling from one of the Chicago indie scene's most beloved venues, it's pretty damn hard to say I want to see him work again, especially with how petty and avoidable the whole thing was. I don't think there's anything that can really make up for that."

[0.0] "Guy actively went out of his way to harm the indy scene, getting wrestling blackballed from a venue with a great wrestling legacy, and hurting the Chicagoland indy scene in a huge way. Just an out and out detriment to the scene, no two ways about it. It's absolutely insane that I'm required to waste six hundred characters to say how badly this guy sucks. Again, it bears repeating, he's actively harming the indy scene by his actions in faking a stabbing as an excuse to beat up a fan. Maybe the fan had a beating coming, but even then, he hurt far more than he helped, no other way to say it. Just garbage."

[0.0] "A detriment to the indie scene as a whole. Even if he was good at the wrestling thing, his involvement in the actions leading to the end of wrestling at the Berwyn Eagles Club is unforgivable. MLW, any promotion IWTV works with and others should blacklist him ASAP."

[5.0] "I've only seen Krule in a handful of matches, but I can tell he has the wrong gimmick. Krule is a big dude, I picture his gimmick as Old Undertaker/Old Kane with the power and brutality of Brock Lesnar and Brain Damage and occasionally the "no sell" John Zandig. Picture that in your head, An deathmatch beast who just manhandles his opponents and is almost unstoppable."

[2.0] "A really dull big guy, despite the monster gimmick, he is not creative whatsoever. His in ring ability is poor. He was memorable in MLW, but he wasn't a reason for me enjoying it when I did watch. So not good."

[5.0] "Mads Krule Krügger is a so average wrestler . No presence, no fan connection and no wrestling ability. I have not seen any great match he was part of even though he has a very high rating on this website."

[8.0] "Krule is a talented big man on the indies. His size and gimmick makes him stand out. He is very good in a death match but also has great regular matches. Not a talker but with his gimmick he doesn't need to be."

[7.0] "Krule is one of the gimmicks that stick out in Today's world of Sports.He has the looks, The ITfactor and can go in the ring.I personally don't wanna see him just doing death matches"

[8.0] "Krule is a curious case in deathmatch wrestling. His size and stature would lead one to believe that he is one of those wrestlers who relies only on brute strength, but he has proven himself to be capable of remarkable subtlety. Because few of his opponents come close to matching his size, he tends to restrain himself, taking care not to overshadow them or make them appear incapable, while maintaining his own sense of dominance and skill. I believe the best match to watch to see this subtle restraint in action is his 2022 IWTV Southeast First Uncharted Territory deathmatch against Slade. The difference in size between the two men is immediately obvious and you would think Krule would easily take Slade out, but Krule allows Slade's raw aggression and endurance to shine. What's also notable is Krule's pain tolerance. With the mask, it is harder to tell if he is in pain, but his ability to shrug off barbed wire, glass, and light tubes without so much as a flinch tells you that he has mastered maintaining his eerily calm facade under duress. Given his imposing presence, stoic discipline, and his nuanced handling of size disparities, an 8 feels fitting for him."

[9.0] "Krule is like if Kane was a lot more violent and scary and honestly more fun to watch. Krule>Kane any day. Krule's hardcore matches with Colby Corino in DPW especially are really awesome. Esp. Krule Combat."

[8.0] "Great big man. Knows how to work his character and what his role is in professional wrestling. Very bright future."

[9.0] "My favorite wrestlers in the Indies, the only real monster heel in the world of wrestling today. He needs to get more opportunities in other companies"

"[7.0] He fought in at the first independent show I ever attended (Two Tribes in Worcester, MA), and I came in knowing nothing about him. I showed up for Dijak but found some elite wrestlers to go on YouTube deep dives on. When Krule entered, I immediately understood his aura. When the bell rung, I understood why he was the IWTV Champion, and having watched him vs Jacob Fatu, I wonder why he is not at least making regular apperances on a more major promotion (NXT, ROH, or TNA, potentially even NOAH). I saw somewhere that he had other options but decided to stay with MLW. Personally, I would love for him to bring the hardcore style to NXT. Outside of Oba Femi, he brings something that no one else is close to. The narrative potential of getting NXT's version of Kane (more than Karrion Kross was). He is older than most in NXT, but I think he would be amazing there."

[8.0] "This guy is awesome. He has a cool look, Awesome gimmick and is willing to do anything to entertain. He may not be the best wrestler but if you give him a good opponent and a No DQ stipulation, he can entertain like not many other guys"

[10.0] "I will not lie. He is one of my favorite wrestlers right now. He knows his gimmick. He knows what he can and can't do. He's good in the ring. And he's intimidating for a heel. His feud with Jacob Fatu in MLW was amazing."

[7.0] "One of my favorite monsters right now, almost entirely because of the gimmick. This is an alligator in vaguely human form, and he makes for an instantly captivating heel. The matches I have seen of his have never delivered a classic (yet) and I'm not the biggest fan of the match types he mostly finds himself in (no DQ walk and brawls) but I still find myself looking forward to seeing him anyways. If that isn't star power--the fact I want to see his matches despite not being a fan of the sort of stuff that is his wheelhouse--I don't know what is."

[9.0] "Krule absolutely knows what his character/persona is, which makes for very intelligent storytelling within the confines of a match or a feud (See, eg, his matches against Colby Corino in DPW). He is the archetype of the big man monster. It's a shame that independents, for the most part, don't allow for touring managers, because a mouthpiece would really add to what Krule presents. I think the Rev. Dan Wilson would be absolutely phenomenal in such a role. It's also surprising that the NWA hasn't paired Krule up with Jim Mitchell. The one noticeable drawback in the Krule presentation is the lack of athleticism he shows. I know WWE insists that big men/monsters cannot show any athleticism but if Krule, skill set wise, resembled Darkko or Mike Awesome, he would instantly be among the world's elite wrestlers based on his tremendous match psychology."

[7.0] "when he is Logan Creed he isnt that good for me *kinda boring) but when he joined Contra Unit and became a Mad Krugger he is so interesting to watch"

[5.0] "He was more interesting as Logan Creed and seemed to be doing stuff aligning himself with Mance Warner. Mance left and he seemed to be hunting Contra. Then that was mysteriously dropped and he returned as Mads Krugger as part of Contra. And in typical MLW "lying to the fans" fashion, they tried to deny he was Logan Creed since the fans saw through it almost immediately. Suffice to say, Mads is nowhere near as interesting as they're trying to make him."

[6.0] "While it seems that he lacks experience, however, Mads is quite good as a frightening monstrous heel. He was an organic addition to Contra and it will be interesting to see if he can achieve success in solo. So far, 6 points out of 10 for me."
