At 27, there's still plenty of time for him to reach that next level - but currently, he's too formulaic to reliably be a great singles wrestler. His flaws are better hidden in tag team and multi-man matches, where he tends to shine with his big rope walking spots."

This guys whole move-set is just flopping around and trying to make moves look cool and get the whole crowd invested. However, it's the opposite for me, he makes everything look stagey and strictly choreographed. The hype people give him it outrages, they act like he's the next face of lucha libre, he's not even that good in the ring. I find him bland, boring, and just un-interesting."

Don't have the crowd charisma like most of the luchadores in the business and surely his first years was a bit tough to follow. Still, great performer."

Hasn't been booked particularly strongly in his home promotion, but is seeing more work appear for him in Mexico, both in CMLL and on Mexican indies. His match with Dorada is a downballot MOTY contender for me. Hoping to see a midcard push for him in his home promotion one of these PPV cycles."

Some really great matches recently in AEW & ROH with the likes of Kyle Fletcher, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, & Nick Wayne"

His tag team with Hologram was short lived at least at the time of typing this but it was very enjoyable and a much needed sign of true identity on the roster for both men. Hopeful they'll return as a team soon but either way Komander has mastered the TV wrestling match and he's only gonna keep getting better"

Choosing to be accompanied by Alex Abrahantes was a great decision. i consider him an excellent manager. Komander keeps improving with every match. His agility is undeniable, and he's gaining more and more confidence in the ring. He may not be a top star yet, but the potential is clear"

[7.0] "Komander improved drastically throughout 2024, evolving from a guy with a couple of very impressive party tricks into an excellent sympathetic underdog babyface. He has added more variety to his arsenal, he has a better sense of when and why to do the crazy high spots and he almost always delivers a good match against any given opponent. I thought he'd fade away fairly quickly once the novelty of the rope walk dive wore off but, by the end of the year, albeit as a substitute, he did not look out of place as a Continental Classic participant."
Wangler wrote on 07.02.2025:
[7.0] "More of an acrobat and he's hardly Dean Malenko in the ring but 95% of people who have ever laced up their boots & taped their wrists can't do the mad stuff Komander routinely does. He's a high spot to liven up a midcard, or multiman spotfest. Can have a half decent match, as displayed as the final elimination against Fletcher at ROH Final Battle 2023 and winning it in 2024. Something of an idiot savant in wrestling terms but his rope walks, 450 Splash in particular, are outstanding. Updated to a 7 as he's improved further the past 6 months or so."

He's got great fire, he really knows where to place his highflying dives in the match so they make sense and add to the drama and he keeps adding innovative new stuff to his move set. One of the great luchardors right now."

I seen him live on AEW against Ricochet not to long ago and I was baffled by how good he is in the ring truly! I also enjoyed seeing him have Alex Abrahantes at he's side idk its good to see him have someone supporting him. Overall, I have high-hopes for Kommander as we enter the new year!"

He is not somebody I am ever going to be excited about when I see his match graphic but nor is he going to make me skip the show because of him. He merely exists and is used exactly how a man of his talents for good or ill should."

But I guess he can do a cool spot or two? He is the prime example of the issues in modern wrestling where psychology, selling or how to get a crowd emotionally into your match means nothing and its all about getting your stuff in to get a pop from the crowd. First match I saw him was against jay white where white looked like an idiot letting him set up his obviously choreographed spots and I thought maybe he just got over excited trying to show what he can do. No, all his matches are like that and he needs to study in ring psychology badly"

[10.0] "Komander is the definition of humility, coming from Reynosa, where no wrestlers made any impact even in Mexico for at least the last 20 years, fighting his way to the top with just passion and determination beyond humanly. Sure, he still has areas that could improve but the excitement he brings every time he steps foot in the ring is undeniable. Throughout his career, he has invented at least 10 moves that nobody ever did before. Creativity was his strength even before coming to Mexico City and training with Skayde, and now that might as well be his ring name. His latest match with Takeshita really shows his true potential, and I'm anxious for his true breakout ****1/2+ match, with an opponent such as Soma Watanabe or another youngster in the same boat. Nobody could be more biased than me, I've been a fan literally since he was 14 years old. Already back then he was doing crazy ropetricks and uploading them to Facebook, and I made probably about 10 highlight videos on him. He is also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet in person. And nothing about it feels forced or fake. The person below me seems to be the polar opposite of a human being."

His spots take a long-ass time to execute, look fake AF, and he is absolutely useless at anything else. I'm not even sure he knows what a fucking punch is. He can't sell, can't do the slightest bit of psychology, can't talk, act or emote. This Cirque du Soleil-ass luchador is shite, and he hasn't improved at all since he first made his televised debut for AEW."

Vanstyler wrote on 01.12.2023:
[6.0] "Sadly, a one trick pony. Once he performs his rope walking dive there is not much to see. He have a very poor psychology in the ring and he's often bouncing on stuff. Comparing his job with other luchadors like Vikingo or Fenix, he falls flat. The good thing is he's young and still a very long way to improve."
GoldLiger wrote on 12.11.2023:
[4.0] "Komander is a remarkable athlete with a pretty good-looking mask, and that's about the start and end of his skillset. He has some spectacular high flying offense but he can't really structure a match, or sell, or cut a promo, or strike, or do any real strength spots, or really do anything to elevate his opponent beyond doing the job after getting his shit in. He's better as a tag guy who can fill in the gaps of his partner's offense with his own to keep up the pace but I wouldn't put him as the Face in Peril guy ever. To see Hijo del Vikingo who might genuinely be an entire level of athletic beyond Komander actually have better pacing, selling, charisma, and moveset variety, it really makes you realize that a dude like Komander has a clear ceiling. I think he has a place on the card, but it's probably in a multi-man opener or a pre-show tag."

[1.0] "Kommander is every complaint and criticism about lucha libre "flippy shit" that you can think of rolled into one wrestler. I love that style of wrestling but his stuff is truly egregious. His opponents have to wait around for him to find his footing and get his balance to an absurd degree. It makes the stuff Vikingo and Fenix do all the more remarkable because they are able to do it quickly and in a believable way. I've never been one to cry about believably in wrestling but Kommander just completely breaks it for me. The good news is he's still young so he may have time to evolve and develop a better style or movement. He's surrounded by a lot of great luchadores so hopefully they can get him back on track and help him become worthy of all the hype."

[2.0] "What is this guy all about? He literally just walks the ropes and jumps at his opponents, forcing them to stand around and wait to catch him in some of the most cooperative stuff I've ever seen. It was intriguing to watch once because he's incredibly athletic but once you've seen it, you've seen it and it's noticeable in that the crowd pops for him have dwindled fast. I don't even think he's heard of wrestling basics or psychology, never mind learnt them. An imitator of the millions of spot monkeys that have gone before him and he's not even better than most of them. Other than that, his look is bang average too so from that point of view he's not even a spectacle either."

Dawracik wrote on 17.07.2023:
[6.0] "He's okay. He's technically sound, but still showing signs of greenness and need for improvement. More so than other luchadors active in mainstream wrestling, his spots look very choreographed and sloppily set up. Impressive, especially given his young age, but I don't know if his current skill level warrants the hype and booking he's receiving right now."

AEW has better luchadors I mean seriously they have the Lucha Brothers, Andrade, Bandido, Rush Some of the greatest Wrestlers in the history of Lucha Libre and Mexico in general. If he want's to continue doing the rope things just get more comfortable on them, Like Mascara Dorada (Gran Metalik) he runs the ropes fluently."

To add to it, he botches often so it's pointless allowing these spots to be set up. He may have talent but is clueless on how to put a match together."
MavenDeltz000 wrote on 14.07.2023:

Wrestlers like him are what is wrong with wrestling today and what makes the old school guys cringe. Never seen such obvious cooperation in a guys matches which is impressive for AEW."

He is undeniably athletic and many of the moves he can pull off are athletically and aesthetically impressive, but this is often at the expense of logic or psychology, and he is at times incredibly sloppy. I've come to dread seeing him on screen because I know reason will go out the window."
TAWPTierJustin wrote on 27.05.2023:
[7.0] "I'm not the biggest Komander fan and I think that stems from when I first watched him in that Bunkhouse Battle Royal on Ric Flair's Last Match show where he eliminated himself by doing that signature tightrope walk dive of his to the outside if I'm not mistaken. So with that being my first exposure to Komander, he didn't exactly make a great first impression on me. Komander also has the tendency of going to the well one too many times in attempting his signature lucha aerial moves. However I will give credit where it's due. Komander did get a lot of eyes on him when he debuted in AEW earlier this year in that Face Of The Revolution ladder match and rightfully so. He and Vikingo had a dope opener at ROH Supercard Of Honor 2023 for the AAA Mega Championship. I won't take either of those things away from him. With the right opponents and the right set of circumstances, Komander is able to shine bright. So i would say giving him a 7 rating is a firm but fair rating."

I can enjoy Vikingo's stuff despite it requiring a higher degree of set up and cooperation, as there is still some variety there and hard hitting spots. But Komander feels very much like a one trick pony. Using the ropes as an integral part of your offense is fine so long as you have other strengths to offer, and I haven't see that yet."

Doesn't have much ring psychology, can't make opponents look good & I highly doubt he could change up his style and manage to thrive, which all the top level talent have managed to do. I can't judge him on promo's, since he's basically a mute, and whilst he doesn't exert charisma, he holds himself up fairly decently, but his physique doesn't do him any favours. Overall, I think he's a good luchador, but has almost zero longevity and will very likely be forgotten about once a new flippy luchador pops up."
