[6.0] "Mr. Kennedy / Anderson had ALL the tools to be a major star in WWE. They were really, really pushing him hard for a little while too. However, for whatever reason, luck just wasn't on his side. He peaked at WrestleMania 23 with the MITB win, and then it all went downhill from there. From that badly advised shoulder injury to getting suspended later that year, it just seemed as if the folks making the decisions gave up on him. Oh, that badly timed back body drop to Orton definitely didn't help matters either. He would go on to do OK in TNA, he joined at a good time and the promotion really pushed him hard. He would finally get his main event title run that, to be honest, he deserved. But nothing of note has happened since then for Mr. Kennedy / Anderson. He seemed to of just dropped off the face of the earth. I know he still wrestles and has become a trainer, but man... there was just so much potential there and he just never reached it. Such a shame. Incredible charisma, in-ring wise I would say he was above average. Nothing crazy, but wasn't bad either. He just really had everything to be a star, but it never happened."

He showed main event potential in WWE before backstage issues and injuries slowed his momentum. In TNA, he found new life and delivered strong work as their world champion. While he never fully hit his ceiling, his presence and talent made a lasting impression"

TwiggyShark wrote on 15.03.2025:
[7.0] "It doesn't matter that his time in WWE was short... everyone remembers Mr. Kennedy for his entrance and in-ring ability. When he walked onto the stage, we all knew it, and to this day, if someone yells "MR... KENNEDYYY" we all automatically remember watching SmackDown in 2006 or RAW in 2007. And having that ability to be remembered is something many wrestlers today should aspire to (not doing a thousand moves on the ropes and breaking your neck for nothing). And did Kennedy know how to wrestle? Just look at his matches against The Undertaker, Sting, Batista, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Eli Drake... no one can deny his talent. A sad story of someone who should have been more successful than he was."

He was unfortunately injury prone and had the worst luck when it came to getting hurt then came the signature pharmacy scandal which got him suspended and further derailed his career. TNA tried to use him and take advantage of his potential and he was actually able to have a much better career there but I think his WWE career ending the way it did hurt his confidence. Still, he's had a pretty solid career and you can't knock him for that."

[8.0] "Honestly, I think Ken is a very versatile wrestler, with his time in WWE having him utilize a swanton bomb despite not looking like an aerial wrestler. If nothing else, he had the gift of gab and the perfect voice for the gimmick that he'd have for virtually his entire career(unless I missed something, which I likely did) in being his own ring announcer, having the voice and especially the lung power to make it work. I'm glad he got to win a couple of world titles, especially after he kinda got screwed over with MitB due to a misdiagnosis in terms of time away due to injury. Last I checked before typing all of this, he currently announces for a boxing promotion called Top Rank Boxing, which works perfectly for him when he finally retires."

Unfortunately, injuries and a couple of botched moves on the wrong people soured the front office on him and he got canned. Had the character and talent, but maybe his personality rubbed the wrong people the wrong way and he got taken out in a political hit."

[7.0] "I always thought that Ken Anderson was entertaining on the mic and relatively solid in the ring, and if he'd been bit more politically savvy, he might have ended up becoming a far bigger star than he ended up being. Sadly a combination of injuries and dumb behaviour led to him getting bounced from WWE before he was able to crack the main event scene. He had better luck in TNA/IMPACT, winning the World Title and wrestling some fun matches with the likes of Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy. Anderson was supposed to originally be the illegitimate son of Vince McMahon, which would have led to a WWE Title win and a WrestleMania match with Triple H, but he did some stupid interviews about how he was supposedly steroid free and then ended up on a signature pharmacy list, leading to him getting suspended and missing out on the biggest push of his career. If he'd just kept his mouth shut and laid low, then they might have still given him the push and who knows how high he could have reached in the promotion. As it is, Anderson will remain a "what if", but his overall body of work is good for the most part and he definitely had personality and charisma on his side"

Kennedy but just couldn? t get to that next level. His wwe run is worth rewatching for the promos and mic work alone."
Ma Stump Puller wrote on 16.11.2020:
[6.0] "Decent in the ring (at his best anyway, before back injuries took their toll) and was impressive on the mic. Kennedy/Anderson probably could have gotten to the main event in some capacity considering he was very much over with fans: ultimately backstage nonsense and simple bad luck took that away for him. That being said, I definitely don't think he would have stayed in that position as he really wasn't that fantastic in the ring and even seasoned workers like Undertaker or Cena couldn't make him look great, which is a big sign that you shouldn't be there with them in the first place. Had a good presence and clearly knew how to work his character, but that was limited in WWE and outright ruined in TNA, becoming a afterthought despite some decent matches here and there. Ultimately the guy was just not built for a long workrate, and consistently injuring yourself is the fastest way to lose momentum. I can't really blame the guy for not making it as far as he could, but a smarter way to work could have fixed that."

I thought he was fin for a mid carder, but I didn't see him as anything higher at that point. But I really loved his countdown to WrestleMania when he would cash in. Unfortunately, that never came to be. And pretty much everything after him losing the briefcase lead to his slow & steady decline. I know people feel like he really missed out when they decided last minute not to have him be Vince's illegitimate son, but to be honest, I thought that angle was stupid right from the get go & I do not think it would have worked out for Kennedy the way people like to imagine. He felt like a big deal for a minute in TNA, but his stock there quickly dropped as well & his ring intro thing quickly turned from being a kind of nifty addition to his character to his entire identity."

[6.0] "At his peak, entertaining on the mic. But he tries way to hard to be like Stone Cold Steve Austin when hes not. Kennedy was one of those guys that was not one of the best in the ring but his personality made up for it. He had lots of potential of being a huge star. Injuries, popping for steroids and injuring Randy Orton did not help his cause. His run in TNA was fine but the only reason why he got pretty far was because he was a former WWE Superstar. But him winning the TNA World Title was a cool moment, even though TNA was crap at the time when he won it."

His WWE run was an enormous disappointment, as he didn't really progress or develop as strongly as he could have been for the time he was there and for the opponents he was booked to wrestle against. A handful of wrestlers have shown what's possible from him (Such as HBK and Kurt Angle). But that handful isn't really enough to give him more than a 7."

Perhaps in GFW, Mr. Anderson can show the world what he's really made of. Maaaaaade offfffffff."

I can think of none memorable, except maybe when Kurt Angle nearly killed himself jumping off a cage, and Anderson was only a landing pad for that particular spot. Where, then, are Anderson's great promos? Well, he says his name a lot, and... what else? Bellows idiotic insults in an unconvincing manner. I'll admit he interested me when he first appeared on WWE TV, but he has done absolutely nothing to develop his abilities or character in all the long, long time since. He's a waste of money for TNA, and I honestly cannot comprehend his high rating on this site, perhaps people who are voting based on vague memories of his early days."
