[3.0] "With a lot of bitterness, I am giving him a 3, because the same way people rate him zero, they rate Benoit, who I was a huge fan of, 10s or 8s for ring work, but let me get clear that I'm not a fan of José as a wrestler, and definitely not as a man. His matches with Huracan Castillo, with the Estradas, Brody, Ron and Chicky Starr were great and fun, and like it or not, the man drew huge crowds into those open aired arenas just so people could see blood and action...OOF, Ok, now I will finally free myself of giving him pleasantries, and remind myself that this monster killed a man inside a shower just for "business" in front of Tony Atlas, who tried to get help for his bud, and later on, thanks to the justice system (aka Carlos Colon's money), he got away with it. This man deserves everything he got afterwards, and I don't usually wish this sort of stuff. Also, I am still waiting for the day he decides to stab that corrupt bastard "amigo" of his, Carlos Colon, to see if he gets away with it. Chicky Starr was right about him being trash at everything."

[1.0] "I saw another comment on here that considering people will make allowances to rate the likes of Chris Benoit or Jimmy Snuka on their work despite their crimes, the same should be done for Invader #1. While what he did was monstrous and cowardly, I don't necessarily disagree, so I did track down a handful of matches and segments on YouTube to see what he was like as a performer. In total, I remain deeply unimpressed. Now, I will say from my limited exposure, Invader did seem to have a connection with the Puerto Rican crowds - he got strong reactions, though whether that's for having matches against world famous heels like Bruiser Brody and Abdullah the Butcher, it is hard to say. He also, while I don't speak Spanish myself, seems to cut a fiery promo when he needs to, with a lot of intensity that crosses language barriers. Turning to his actual in ring work, though, I found him a boring, forgettable brawler who was mostly in juice fests with more famous monsters than himself. Couple that with his very real and very horrible crimes, and the fact that he not only got away with it but did an angle with Onita playing off his literal murder of Bruiser Brody after getting away with it clean, well. Fuck him, right?"

[0.0] "Screw this guy. He murdered Bruiser Brody and got away with it because he was friends with Carlos Colón and got a babyface push out of it. The reason he killed Bruiser Brody is because he hit him a bit too hard in the ring. Fuck this guy. A massive 0/10 for him."

So, all I can say is, I haven't been familiar with his work. I would need to see it. [3.0] "It's hard to give a rating for people like Jose for obvious reasons. But if consider his career as a whole, then he was not a complete zero. He had a memorable career in Puerto Rico and he had run in rising WWF both as single and as tag team wrestler, even being in the main events sometimes. I also remember a few of his decent hardcore matches. He wasn't very good with technique, he didn't show outstanding moves from the top rope, but as a hardcore wrestler he didn't look that bad. I don't deny that what he did was terrible and I'm amazed by the fact that he continued to compete until 2019 after that, but if rate him as a wrestler, I think 3 would be a more appropriate rating."

[0.0] "He was your traditional, run of the mill, 1980s Puerto Rican babyface wrestler. Decent at selling, and a relatively mediocre brawler who the crowd loved for some reason. However his overall averageness is not why I rate him a 0 but the murder of Bruiser Brody. The self defense caim was BS too , because why would he have just happened to bing a knife into the shower to discuss business with Brody? Just nothing good about him at all."

[2.0] "I was never a fan of all-out 70's style brawlers like Invader #1 was so I find his in-ring work excruciantingly boring even by the standards of the time. He was a rather big draw in Puerto Rico which, honestly, doesn't say much about the local scene as he was never a highly charismatic worker, nor renown for good character acting or exciting promos. He hadn't much of character bar being big and strong. His involvement in Bruiser Brody's death, whatever that may have really been, effectively sealed the fate of Puerto Rico as a territory since no foreign star would work there anymore unless he was desperate for a paycheck. Two points for being a big draw in his time and territory but nothing more."

[8.0] "I'm also here to rate him as a wrestler. Yes he killed Bruiser Brody and it was wrong. He is legendary in Puerto Rico winning many titles there. To be honest he was not as good as Carlos Colon or Abudullah the Butcher. Also he is best known as Invader I and teamed with Roberto Soto as the Invaders. Decent tag team."

Bruiser Brody was one of my top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time, but this is a wrestling site that attempts to rate wrestlers on their wrestling career. Invader was a top 2 face in a territory that was filling small baseball stadiums on a regular basis. He was a great brawling feuder. I don't think he would have faired so well outside of a Latino type of promotion but if given a chance he had good charisma, could cut a strong promo, and was willing to bleed to please the crowd"
