[6.0] "Johnny Swinger was the underdog who unfortunately didn't make it. For most of his career. I enjoyed his last run on Impact! Watching his work made me wish he had more success during his active career and younger age."

[8.0] "Man literally went from "one of the most forgettable wrestlers on the planet" to "one of TNA's biggest bright spots" during his run there. Was never the best in-ring worker, but GODDAMN is he fun as hell to watch with his comedic antics. Definitely deserving of a higher ranking."

[7.0] "Talk about your late career reinventions. Swinger went from a "passable, but unspectacular" for most of his career, to suddenly being one of Impact's most entertaining acts seemingly out of nowhere. Always fun to watch when a guy finds his niche, even so late in his career."

[6.0] "I started watching Impact in 2020 and discovered Johnny Swinger, and honestly he's really funny. I really appreciated his out of touch wrestling vet gimmick he had, and he was pretty funny on the locker room talk interview segments. I always have a good laugh when this guy gets tv time, so that's worth a 6/10 to me."

[4.0] "Early days are noted as a lower card/job guy in WCW and a short stint in TNA when he again didn't really pull up trees. He has found a decent spot as a comedy act guy in current Impact even if his act is completely and utterly played out by now but it is perfectly fine in small doses."

[8.0] "While far from the best worker you'll ever see, Johnny Swinger has found himself a character in Impact over the last few years that is one of their best. He is what good comedy in wrestling looks like and is a prime example of getting maximum rewards from the simplest of efforts."

[4.0] "Another WCW jobber from 1997-bankruptcy. Wasn't too bad in the ring and was a slight step up from those preliminary jobbers who got in no offense, but he never really did anything on Nitro or Thunder of note."

[6.0] "I can always depend on Swinger to make me laugh anytime he shows up on IMPACT. While his matches are rarely all that good, his backstage segments are great and I'm a big fan of his pairing with Zicky Dice."

His gimmick of sleazy 80s carny throwback that he's settled into is simply perfect and he plays it to a T. Any time Johnny Swinger pops up while I'm watching Impact a big dumb grin always spreads across my face. Not amazing in the ring (never was, tbh) but his character work and antics make up for it. Every wrestling promotion needs a doofus heel jobber, and Swinger currently sets the standard for that niche. Ain't much but it's an honest day's work."

[4.0] "Johnny Swinger is the definition of an alright, average wrestler. I liked his tag team with Simon Diamond in ECW, but that was mainly because of Simon' charisma and funny promos. While Swinger was the better worker, he was more so a background character. As a singles wrestler, it gets worse. He had a completely forgettable run in WWE as Johnny Parisi, and now he's become a cringe presence on Impact Wrestling. An okay tag team wrestler, but clearly, never meant to be a top dog."

[8.0] "I'm not sure that an 80s tribute act is usually what wrestling fans get on board with, but Swinger has been a great addition to the impact roster. Also, I always been a fan of his work."

[5.0] "Johnny Swinger is accomplished as a tag wrestler, but as a solo wrestler, nothing really stands out about him. However, whoever is writing his stuff in Impact definitely knows what they're doing. His charisma and character are off the charts hilarious in the absolute dumbest way possible. He is a jobber through and through, but he has a stupid personality of an older vet who has seen better days, and he's entertaining because of it. He's the kind of heel you want to see get whooped no matter what and I love it"

[5.0] "Swinger had a good physique and an in-ring skill set that was, if not spectacular, certainly solid. He had his best success as a tag team wrestler with Simon Diamond and, briefly, with Glenn Gilberti as half of the New York Connection, though in the case of both teams he came off a bit as "the other guy" as compared to the strong personalities of his partners."

[6.0] ""It ain't easy, being Johnny Parisi! " The second those words fell out of his mouth, the fans greeted him with a mighty chorus of boos. It was instantaneous. For that magic moment alone, he deserves a 6. I can't believe he didn't go further in WWE after that. Guys just don't get that kind of easy heat anymore."
