[6.0] "Judging based on his NJPW run since I wouldn't even know where to start looking for footage of his Australian indie work. Took a while for Big Jag to hit with me but I have come to love what an unabashed old school meathead he is. He's an anachronism. This is the kinda guy that professional wrestling used to be built around. He's very much the 20+ year veteran weekend warrior you see touring the micro indies and it's a delight to see someone like him get to work on such a big stage."
[7.0] "Fucking love me some Big Jag. He wrestles in such a simple way but he's so charming in a way that usually doesn't work for babyfaces. He's the monster for the Young Lions to struggle to overcome, but once he's put them down, he gives them the ol' pat on the back and the "ah y'er alright kid" and there's something so damn endearing about it. It makes you wonder if this will finally be the day one of those plucky trainees will score the glorious upset, yet never makes you sad when they don't."
[7.0] "Granted I've only seen Jackson's work this year in NJPW teaming with TMDK but I've really enjoyed what I've seen from him so far. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for dudes built like refrigerators, especially when they know how to work. For his age and size Hartley moves remarkably well around the ring, and his actual moveset is a more diverse than other brick shithouse gaijins we've seen in the past. Being a partner in preview tag matches is a pretty important role in NJPW, and Jackson is a very strong utility player, so he really is the perfect guy to be the extra body in TMDK tag team matches. And I mean that with the highest compliments. He has great chemistry teaming with everyone in TMDK, which is a pretty diverse group in terms of wrestling styles. Even if he's not actually competing in tournaments he's still on the road having matches every single night just like everyone else, doing an awesome job of making his teammates and opponents look good and getting the tournament/tour over. I'd love to see him have a run with the 6-man titles with Ichiban Sweet Boys or some other combination of teammates. I've also been reading a bit recently about Jackson's contribution to the Australian wrestling scene over the years (well, decades) which is very significant and factors into the final rating."
[8.0] "Has been in wrestling forever, and is a big influence on the modern Australian scene which has really kicked off (in the couple of years pre-pandemic, is recovering now and looking good). Really good, solid big man that can lay it in. His big man style is impressive and he always lays it in, which is great to see. Glad he has found his niche in Japan. Would normally be a 7, but the extra point is for his influence on the Australian scene"
[9.0] "Got to give him proper credit for his longetivity in the business, his credentials around the world, and his humble personality outside the ring. A great gaijin for Japan, with ideal aspects surrounding the standards of it."
[7.0] "He is kind of the prototypical gaijin big man: big and strong with a good look and a mean streak. He has a pretty standard power offense that he executes well."
