[3.0] "You can tell why the man is so forgettable in the business, by only have two ratings (including mine). Here's a guy who only got into the wrestling business, which is a business that hurts and batters people's lives to so much that only real passion keeps them in, to get clean off debts he got while he was a high ranking sumo fighter. This alone makes his inclusion into the business criminal, and I don't have to say his ring skills pretty resembled what we could expect: lame, slow and crappy, and you know it when even Jumbo can't carry you on a match. It took only 2 years to finally realize this wasn't for him and he wouldn't go anywhere afterwards. Overall: He's like Koji Kitao, only he wasn't kicked out for beating other people's wives and he fought Flair for the NWA title, so he got that going on."

[3.0] "I'll contend that he certainly had a good look and his rep in sumo meant that the guy was going to be pushed regardless of who he was: in a way I suppose you could equate his venture into wrestling to resolve money issues as a comparison to the likes of more recent sumo outings like Akebono, only I'd argue Ake eventually "got" wrestling to a far, far greater degree than Wajima, who was way too broken down by the time he started training to really get anywhere. He wasn't terrible but you have to be something bad if the likes of Tenryu and Tsuruta, usually incredibly solid at being able to carry lesser wrestlers to a good to great match, can't do anything with you but plod on. Not anything special in tags but manageable but a near disaster in anything that's not the best of the best carrying him in singles."
