[10.0] "Very underrated in pro wrestling history. His rating here is perfectly indicative to the kind of career he had but he's hardly mentioned in any discussions anywhere when it comes to all time great heel workers and managers. He and Bobby Heenan are the best all time."

[10.0] "One of the first real heels in professional wrestling. You could even go as far as to say that he was one of the ones who wrote the blue print on what it meant to be a heel. Freddie was never afraid to play dirty. He would use whatever illegal tactic he had to use in the ring in order to either further punish his opponent or as an escape route to stop the punishment that they were dishing out on to him, and doing that in an era where the fans still very much believed it was real is what got him nuclear heat with crowds all over the world. People tried to stab him, they threw piss on him, poured acid on him, etc, as he'd leave the ring after some of the matches that he'd have against some of the fan favorites of the era. He was a brilliant talker as well and could generate as much heat on the microphone as he did in the ring. His talking played a key role in the run he had as a manager. He was up in age by that point, so he couldn't really take bumps anymore, but him standing alongside some of the most hated villains of all time. and being able to add that extra layer on to their acts with his words. Was always a fan of his outfits too. Some of the stuff he wore on tv while stylish, as he was the hollywood fashion plate, would stick out like a sore thumb amongst a crowd of people."

[9.0] "While I have a wealth of homework to do on his in ring wrestling career, I have seen the bulk of his managerial work While he was no Grand Wizard, I will take Freddie all year long over Lou Albano! By '86 he seemed notably lost so that sucked... but I really did like his stuff before then. Quick timing, always putting over the product and in general, being an asset to the McMahon product. He was solid in his skills, there is no doubt about that. Gotta say though, who paired him with Moondog Spot for that quick minute?"

[10.0] "Freddie Blassie was one of the best in his prime, either as a manager or a wrestler, he could talk, he could wrestle, and his gimmick was legendary. Looking at him as a manager, he was successful, getting his man in the Iron Sheik to be the "first" man to beat Bob Backlund both in general and for the title (for some reason Inoki doesnt count) as a wrestler he was even better in my eyes, with his ability to draw more heat on himself than almost anyone else during his time period weather it was fileing his teeth, or just being an arrogant heel. Freddie never held a true world title but he was still one of the greatest of the 50s through the 60s"

[6.0] "His ring career was ages before my time, and I have only seen his manager days in the early 80's WWF. Good enough as a heel manager, but not on the same level as Heenan and Hart."

[9.0] "People mostly know Blassie for his manager roles, but he was also a pro in the ring. Had some great matches with Rikidozan & even back in the late 60s he was over bigtime as a heel. His famed line of "pencil neck geek" got over so huge that the biggest heel in America today (Trump) recently used it when talking about political opponents he's not fond of. My personal favorite Blassie memory comes from the black & white Attitude Era promo he did alongside other legends such as Monsoon, Kowalski, & Ladd. That thing still gives me chills today."

[9.0] "Excellent heel! He was a pencil enkc geek for sure. Had great feuds with John Tolos and Rikozoan. He was hot in the WWA in Los Angeles. If he was younger he would have been WWWF champion. Excellent Manager."

[7.0] "I know he's a legend but his prime was from an era that didn't appeal to me and he was at the tail end of his career during my favorite era -- mid-80s to early 90s. He was definitely one of the top heel managers during that time but didn't have the charisma of a Jimmy Hart or Bobby Heenan."

[10.0] "One of the all time great heels, he was so believable that he was routinely attacked by fans. He was stabbed 21 times, and partially blinded in one eye because of being hit with a hard boiled egg. He loved to bite his opponents, and would file his teeth during interviews. Plus he introduced "Pencil necked geek" into the wrestling vocabulary."

[10.0] "A pro's pro. Great as a wrestler on either coast, face or heel. Signature title run against Morales after almost 20 years in the business. Great on the mic. Excellent tag partner and just a legendary manager RIP you pencil neck geek."
