[6.0] "Alright I got some issues with Dwayne Johnson. For starters I don't think he is that great of a wrestler sure he has had some memorable matches but their were more brawls if were being honest. My other issue is his promos once you watch a promo from him you kind of have seen all of his promos am i saying he a bad promo? No but I just feel his style of promo are just flat out predictable insult the guy mentioned the town call himself many nicknames like I'm sorry he is just not my cup of coffee. I'm willing to give him some credit he is very great at what he does and he has becoming one of the most recognized people in wrestling history."

[10.0] "A fair few have been better in ring, can't remember anyone coming close to the wit and entertainment provided by the jabroni beating, pie eating Great One. Impossible to overstate just how amazing he was Attitude era. Didn't even have to throw a punch, well maybe threaten a backhand. Shades on and eyebrow raised, the Rock's promos were the best there's ever been. His verbal bullying of Big Show, and his 57lb head, some of the funniest shit in 'raslin. WM 17 is the seminal Main Event. Millions (and millions) are still chanting his name and the most charismatic to ever do it."

[6.0] "Honestly, I don't understand his promos, less like wrestler and more like a cocky kid trying to seem interesting by only using metaphors. In the ring, he was very meh; his moveset was full of taunts and basic moves from that era. Although he lasted practically as long as Steve Austin, it's clear who was the prodigy when it came to promos."

[10.0] "Promo game is one of one. Charisma is one of one. In ring is underrated and very solid. Even at his old age he can still do it."

[10.0] "When reflecting upon the late 90s through much of the early 2000s, The Rock was always near the top of my favorites list. You really just had to have been there to see him in his prime and you see a guy who you just knew was going to be huge, whether it was in WWE or in Hollywood. Great promo, was always great at being able to read the fans and manipulate the crowd, he also had natural charisma and the in-ring ability to back it up. I feel like alot of people don't talk about just how giving The Rock was and how unselfish he was despite being on top the way he was. This was a guy who wasn't afraid to work with guys like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Jeff Hardy or The Hurricane because he knew how to use his status to elevate guys instead of trying to hog the spotlight for himself. Overall, he's one of my favorites."

[9.0] "I gave him an 8, but I finally watched a lot of his stuff I missed and a 9 is perfect. An amazing talker, yet his in-ring stuff- IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I THINK. About his modern years, I'm gonna say he tried to ruin his leg-KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH. How can you not see his early years and not think "Yep, I don't care what he did afterwards"?"

[5.0] "The Rock has to be one of the most overrated wrestlers of all time. Never was anything special in the ring, relying on over exaggerated basic moves that otherwise would've been nothing. Mic skills were never anything awe inspiring, relying on cheap immature jokes. Plus after his many controversies in public (In-N-Out Burger, Black Adam, the fire in Maui, taking away the WrestleMania main event from Cody Rhodes etc.) and his constant need to try and make everyone love him, his fake nice guy persona is now completely exposed."

Quite possibly the greatest to ever do it and maybe one of if not arguably the biggest draw in the history of professional wrestling history time as a full time mega star in the business was only 6-7 years but in that time he accomplished more then almost anyone the man won 9 world titles in 34 months which is nothing short of incredible. Often referred to as the goat of the mic the Babe Ruth if you will the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment hold a crowd in the palm of his hand like no one else in the history of the entire business there isn't many that can go toe to toe with him on the stick! Some have stepped up but he put them all down in his prime guys like Steve Austin, Triple H, The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Billy Gunn, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Goldberg, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, Chris Jericho, Booker T, and John Cena in part 2 of their feud in 2013 on old school Raw I can keep going the list is HIGE! No one has held a candle to him. He has also had classic matches with pretty much all the same names and more drawing the highest records in WWE history like his once in a lifetime time match with John Cena at WrestleMania 28 in 2012, and his match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 17, and his match with Triple H at Backlash 2000 all setting record PPV buy that still stand to this day that have never come close to being broken these are all shown as Rocks records because he has the highest average PPV buys out of all men listed even without working with them the only one that rivals him is Steve Austin! His match quality is great he had that edge to him he is 1 that know how to MAKE SOMEONE he has the ability to put guys over and with that victory their careers skyrocket look at names like Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and even helping John Cena get to that next level in 2013. He is one of the men who was the face of wwe with his time as the man being 2000-2003 as the undisputed top babyface of the company which came after he took Austin's spot in late 1999/early 2000. He is a Mount Rushmore Wrestler no debate some of the highest gates records, merchandise sales with over 11 million units sold in a single year where they only one to top that is Steve Austin, PPV buys in WWE history, some of the highest ticket sales, and the highest main stream appeal in wrestling history. His in ring work was always solid his timing is fantastic, he lays everything in making it look strong and crisp, his storytelling is unmatched, along with great in-ring psychology. He can work as a babyface or a heel and his is a goat at both roles. He is in fact the great one!"

[7.0] "The Rock is very hit or miss for me. Got plenty of charisma but his promos always soundes like a baby and he never cut a good serious promo in his career. His in ring work is very average for a top guy and got carried in almost all his matches"

[10.0] "At the ripe age of 53, just about 30 years since his WWE debut, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is still by far the most captivating character in not only Professional Wrestling but any form of Storytelling media. The Rock's 2024 run as the "Final Boss" was the single greatest character professional wrestling has ever seen, carrying the build to Wrestlemania 40 upon his shoulders for both nights and bringing WWE to heights it had not seen in decades. Despite the IWC's idiotic hatred of Dwayne, He is the biggest Box Office draw in the world, The greatest Storyteller, and most notably the greatest Professional Wrestler to ever live."

[7.0] "Was he great on the mic? Yeah. Was he charismatic as hell? Yeah. Was he good in the ring? Eh, for the most part i would say no but that doesn't really matter with him. Lots of great promos and rivalry tho. I won't say that he's ovverated but i'm at a point where i don't want to see him ever again, and if i feel that way about you, i just can't put you higher than that."

[10.0] "I obviously understand why he's so disliked these days and even I got super pissed off after he was literally the reason John Cena turned heel and he simply abandoned it with no explanation. But at the end of the day it's hard to deny what he's done for pro wrestling. He feels bigger than it. He wasn't a 10/10 in workrate terms but he told the Tory perfectly in his matches and is truly, one of the greatest promos ever. And I can't ignore that."

[10.0] "The Rock is arguably the biggest pop culture icon in professional wrestling since Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant. A crossover star from wrestling to film and television. The Rock has really made waves as the most recognizable name in the industry. Even if you're not a wrestling fan, you know for sure who The Rock is. He's on the Attitude Era Mount Rushmore along with Steve Austin, Taker & Triple H."

"If you ask me, Dwayne Johnson had the perfect transition from pro wrestling to Hollywood. Wrestling made him a big star and helped the business to elevate to another level. His wrestlong career helped his movie career and he elevated box offices to another level. Then je came back to wrestling and the cycle continued. Where ever he goes, money and fans follow him."

[10.0] "Wow. This doesn't even warrant a ranking. The Rock is a constant feature on the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling, one of the greatest not only on the mic but incredibly versatile in the ring as well. He owned the Attitude Era alongside Stone Cold, took the company to heights never seen before. Probably among the most charismatic individuals to ever exist considering his prowess not only in wrestling but in the movie industry and all sorts of entertainment basically, considering he grew out to be one of the most popular humans to ever exist on the face of the Earth."

[10.0] "The #2 WWE GOAT for me. Make no mistake, despite what some might say, the Rock was extremely good in the ring when he was in his prime. Not as good as others like Steve Austin, HBK, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, even HHH and maybe Cena were better, but he was still amazing when he got going in the ring. However, his star power is really the biggest thing that separated him from anyone that came before and after. There has, quite simply, just never been a star like the Rock in WWE. He is the difinition of a superstar. When the Rock had a match, it didn't matter if it was on Smackdown or a Wrestlemania main event, it was always must watch. In fact, in terms of sheer charisma, he is so far ahead of literally anyone that has ever done it. I still have Stone Cold slightly ahead, at #1, in my GOAT list ... but man it was a tough choice."

The man is consistently ranked in top 10s despite not only never being even close to be the best wrestler in the world, but also doing so for very little compared to his more talented and influential peers. His mic skills and charisma certainly gave him an edge over others, but I don't think he's even the best at it"

[8.0] "The Rock will always be one of the greatest charismatic figures that this company has ever come across. He has achieved a lot since wrestling and found success in Hollywood. In recent memory, his importance to the WWE has done nothing but cause dilemmas and confusion with creatives, such as from making John Cena heel and it going absolutely nowhere to his attacking Cody Rhodes to then congratulating him on Netflix's premiere. It's all a little confusing. Iconic wrestler but just have to feel his recent showings on the programme might of nerfed his score for me."

"The Rock is one of the biggest icons in wrestling history and a true crossover megastar. His charisma, electrifying promos, and ability to connect with any crowd made him a cornerstone of the Attitude Era. In the ring he delivered countless classics while his larger than life persona set a standard for entertainment. His success in Hollywood only amplified his legend and he remains one of the most influential figures the business has ever seen."

[9.0] "Easily THE most charismatic wrestler I've had the honor of hearing on the mic. Scratch that, make it the most ELECTRIC I've heard on the mic."

[5.0] "I liked him when I was a casual fan, in prime good wrestler, great mic, and electric presentation. However in recent decades as part timer, his act has overall grown lame and old very fast, in ring is mid and got carried by other workers admittedly. His feud with Cena and Punk really exposed how overrated he always is as a wrestler. His world title reign in 2012 shouldn't even happen even in first place, the bloodline feud he involved in is just lame aura farming. I can't wait him gone for good in prowrestling, as his presence has way too overstayed its welcome."

[10.0] "The Rock is one of the best and most charismatic wrestlers of all time, having a tough time in the beginning, because of his premature push and nepotism feeling, Rock attracted a lot of heat, but rapidly showed why it isn't like that, and he's indeed a special talent, a talent that would together with Austin and Vince, boost the WWF's popularity and not only establish dominance over the competition, but also popularize wrestling into probably its hottest era. Heel Rock is my favorite, he repackaged his character as a member of Nation of Domination, and not long after he became the 'Corporate Champion', where he was undoubtedly the best wrestler in the USA and that is also my favorite moment of the Attitude Era. After that Rock became so popular that it was impossible to keep him as a heel, and for the next 3-4 years he was THE babyface of the promotion, with an unbeatable charisma, Rock was the one people wanted to cheer for. I think Rock is an amazing performer in the ring, with really cool punches, and a style suited for brawls, of course his exhilarating charisma also reverberates in his matches, and outside of the ring he's just iconic, the catchphrases, the eyebrow, the facial expressions... it's just awesome that one man has so many trademarks, he's a very special kind. After going to Hollywood, during the part-time period of his career, Rock had his love for pro-wrestling rightfully questioned, and he's for sure a super controversial figure, but even with that, whenever he shows up it's a must-watch."

"I never "click" with The Rock since the start of his career. His promo had always sound cringe and phony to me and his in ring is not good outside his finish ( and even the rock bottom is ... funny? ). People know him more for his movies than his in ring career and he work in wwe because of his movie career. A legend for sure, and he have great charisma with a large than life persona and he did good for the compagny but i don't like him : in the ring, i find myself cringing when hearing his promo and simply, i don't like to watch when he is on screen. But much respect for the man behind the charactere."

"Do you want to be smiley corporate board member Rock or imposing unhinged overpowered Final Boss Rock? Pick a thing and also please show up more once you start something. Those are my only gripes with Rock; besides that, he's in the GOAT conversation despite a relatively short full-time career and arguably the most famous celebrity worldwide. 9/10 because those gripes that I mentioned are pretty big."

[10.0] "Not really interested in anything he's doing right now, The Rock is an immortal icon of the Attitude era, and helped to define an entire generation of WWE. Unbelievably charismatic, brilliant on the mic, and got those cameras flashing in the crowd like no other superstar."

[8.0] "A great promo guy with some legendary promos but I feel like his popularity is blown out of proportion. His in ring work doesn't compare to his mic work and I'm not of fan of his current work as the final boss."

"Catchphrase diarrea. Half of the roster would bury him on the mic without an effort, if there wasn't any line to cross. Great seller, has charisma, but that's it."

[10.0] "One of the greatest talkers of all time, with no doubt in my mind! The Rock may have not been around as long as he could have, but he's accomplished so much in that short time at the top in WWF. Having humble beginnings as Rocky Maivia, who was hated by the fans (so hated, they chanted "Die Rocky Die"). Eventually, WWF pushed back by turning Rocky Maivia into a heel and changing his name into The Rock, once he started talking in third person and insulted the people and his opponents, that's when magic was being made. Then he becomes a total god in professional wrestling, being one of the most charismatic men in professional wrestling, cutting legendary promos every week and owning everyone in his path by verbally running them down and finding ways to destroy them. What made The Rock so good on the microphone was his ability to make childish and cringeworthy insults and turn them into comedic gold thanks to his charisma, delivery and conviction, a truly difficult talent to achieve. The Rock wasn't the best wrestler in the ring, but he was at least a great seller, storyteller and worker, always had the crowd in the palm of his hands no matter what, he was a solid wrestler in the ring and kept improving as the years passed. I mean, how many wrestlers can you name can get "poontang pie" over? His feud with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is easily among the all time best rivalries of all time, a rivalry that has left a huge impact and influence on so many rivalries and wrestlers, there's never gonna be another feud of that magnitude. By far, my favorite gimmick of The Rock's would be his "Hollywood" heel gimmick in 2003, while it was short lived, he was so entertaining during this time, hilarious segments left and right, and his feud with Hurricane is one of my personal favorites. His comeback run in the 2010s was hit or miss for me, I did like his feud with CM Punk and the John Cena feuds, but there were times I felt like he was watered down that his material ended up falling flat due to restrictions, and the second Cena match was terrible, but The Final Boss (2024 version to be more specific) was sick as hell and made Roman and Cody's rematch even bigger and more interesting, truly wild that we got The Rock one more time before he decided to go back to being Dwayne Johnson as The Rock. Overall, one of the all time greats, he's popular in and out of wrestling for a reason (even if he doesn't have the greatest filmography). If Ya Smeeeeeeeeeell... What The Rock... Is... Cooking?"

[7.0] "Beyond charismatic, probably a Top 5 English speaking mic guy, a hige draw, an icon. A somewhat limited worker with a weaker in-ring resume than most would expect, greatly benefiting from working with superior in-ring talents like Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Kurt Angle. Possessed a nasty habit of burying other wrestlers in promos to negative effect."

[9.0] "The Rock is without a doubt one of the all time greats. Easy top 3 of all time on the mic and he is very good in the ring. Reason he gets a 9 is he recent habit of coming back to WWE and messing up storylines."

[8.0] "One of the most captivating speakers in WWE history, unfortunately his in ring work is average at best, even when just looking at people in his era. It's hard to deny the impact that he had on the wrestling world and it would be unrecognisable without him, but purely from an in ring perspective, he wasn't all that."

[10.0] "Best mic worker in WWF/WWE history. Crazy how quickly he got good from his generic good guy run at the beginning of 1997 to leading the nation and then winning the big one at the end of 1998. One of the defining wrestlers of the attitude era with Austin and Triple H. His rivalry with Austin is absolutely top tier, culminating in a top quality main event at WM17, the best pay per view of all time."

[10.0] "The Rock is in the unique position of rivaling, paralleling, and keeping up with the Attitude Era's face of Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Rock's mic work might be the greatest of all time, and his tremendous in-ring storytelling combined with Mt Everest high charisma out of of the ring and third-generation soft skills results in, on-paper, the highest scored individual components to a pro wrestler I can recall. The Rock played a major role in making Kurt Angle, feuded over 2000 with Triple H in arguably the best year for any promotion, and banged out a hellacious series with Mankind before forging an unforgettable tag team in the Rock and Sock Connection. The vocal barbs between Chris Jericho, the Rock, and Stephanie McMahon are legendary. I can't speak of his return to feud with John Cena in the late 2000s but his glorious return for the Wrestlemania 40 build and event itself cemented an already staggering megastar. Typing this out has reminded me just how damn good The Rock really is. ETA: the Rock vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 18 in the Skydome is professional wrestling at its finest."

"7/10, his great character work and charisma on the mic helped to cover over the fact that he was only a fine in-ring worker, he had great matches but he'll always be more remembered for promos"

[7.0] "The rock was good back during his prime days. Decent in-ring wrestler with a great amount of charisma which was the reason why he was so popular and still is to this day. Maybe I wouldve liked him more hadnt he retired from pro wrestling so early in his career."

[9.0] "One of the biggest Superstars in WWE History. His first stint with the company and his work with Steve Austin brought WWE to heights never dreamed before in professional wrestling. Was incredibly charismatic, had superb mic skills and imo is easily one of the biggest star that ever existed in professional wrestling ( PARTLY DUE TO HIS HUGE SUPERSTAR STATUS AT HOLLYWOOD). His in ring work was very good though some of his contemporaries had better ring work but it is his storytelling and character work that makes him a superstar of unfathomable fame. Even when he wasn't in the World Title feuds, he was always a highlight especially during his RockNSock Connection run. Unfortunately, his return in 2010 wasn't something I was fond of, If it was a one off, it would have been fine but he was put in the main event WrestleMania feuds thrice in a row and it kind of felt like he took the thunder of upcoming main eventers like Punk, Sheamus, Bryan, etc. That being said, his second return in 2024 and his evolution to the Final Boss is one of the greatest gimmicks of all time and I absolutely loved the corporate boss heel, he is more menacing, intimidating and corrupted than any kind of corporate boss this business has ever seen and that helps elevate everyone and everything around him. Even as an actor, Dwayne has found incredible success. Probably the biggest draw in both pro wrestling and Cinema. His talent and huge presence can be felt anywhere in any media."

[10.0] "This will probably be the most critical 10 point review I've ever given to a wrestler, but the criticisms of The Rock (or Dwayne Johnson), more so as his business decisions and some of his personal trends, is absolutely warranted. The Rock as a wrestler is one of the greatest of all time and one of the greatest examples of a 'We Made It' in the entertainment world. The Rock lived a roller coaster of a life and it seemed like all hope seemed lost for him as crowds rejected him and viewed him as another bust-adjacent to his father; that was until he started his charismatic rise as "The People's Champion", in which fans got behind the character and he was cheered by many crowds as well as his promos being must see every time he got on camera in a non-wrestling role. The matches he had throughout the years with the likes of Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan were classic all-time thrillers and he's got a unique all-around move-set. Eventually, The Rock decided that Hollywood was for him and abandoned the wrestling industry for many years and although he has never had a full-time run in the time he's been away in Hollywood, he's made the best of his part time appearances over the years and keeping the crowds entertained. While I do believe he's one of the greatest in Professional Wrestling, there are quite a handful of flaws with Dwayne that need to be addressed, most of them being outside the business. Such as his insincerity, which he showed on full display during the Joe Rogan interview from not so long ago, and his lying (which although isn't close to being the bad that Hogan's is, is still questionable when it happens, such as saying he ate at In-and-Out for the first time on multiple occasions, seriously, who does that? ). Also, one of the *worst* things Dwayne has done more particularly in Hollywood is being the mastermind of and producing a propaganda film about an insane, scumbag-parallel, carny wrestling family from Norwich that was shown on big screens in 2019 and fallaciously portrayed everyone in the family as "heroes" and "underdogs" (according to the *laughable* critic reviews) when clearly the opposite is much more true. That movie is going to age really bad in a few years though as the following year after the film got released in theaters, the family got accused with some scandalous allegations (shocker I know right? ). It didn't make much money at the box office and the only good thing to come out of that movie was the rise of Florence Pugh, which wasn't remotely because of that movie but because of another unrelated Greta Gerwig-directed movie that was released the same year; Dwayne *should* have spent his money on another wrestler film project as clearly he made the *wrong* decision on the subject of the film, but most people aren't ready to hear that. Enough of talking about that dog-and-pony show film and onto some of his other flaws, and is one of the bigger ones that came out recently, which is of course the attempt of The Rock (or Dwayne as I should call him in this case, as it's a prime example of D.J. ego) to insert himself into Cody Rhodes' spot at WrestleMania 40 in what was a disastrous failure because of the insanely severe backlash that came with it. Thankfully, The Rock gave us amazing character work and we got a damn good WrestleMania tag match main event with it, so kudos to The Rock on that, but it doesn't make what he almost did any less scummy; and it doesn't even help that the WM 40 documentary came out a few months late, and many people blamed Dwayne for trying to alter history as the reason for it. There's also an elephant in the room of Dwayne Johnson becoming US President one day, which as an American myself, I don't think I could ever get behind; especially with all of his personal flaws which although aren't bad in hindsight, really make him untrustworthy. In short, The Rock is awesome and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and one of the most influential for sure, but Dwayne Johnson isn't even close really, so it's another case of "Like the art, dislike the artist" scenario."

[6.0] "amazing career, but people know him more as an actor more than a wrestler nowadays and that's how he's being used, blew off some very cool storylines for wrestlemania in one single night, and now he just doesnt even click with fans anymore. 6/10 but should be used more healthily."

[8.0] "yes the rock is a legend i am far from denying that. he should be on the wrestling mount rushmore, his retirement match should main event wrestlemania (whenever that happens), etc. if we are talking about peak rock, from 1997-2004, its an easy 10. unfortunately, i also have to take into account the 2010s and onwards, which is a mixed bag and sometimes overshadows the important contributions he made to pro wrestling. obviously you have highlights like the feud with cena and his recent tenure in the bloodline, but the rock is bound to a hollywood to the point where he almost becomes a parody of himself. this isnt to say he's not allowed to go into hollywood, but lets compare and contrast with john cena, who was also pulled into hollywood. while cena was away for some time, he was returning at least once a year, usually wrestling in a match. he wasn't afraid to make fun of himself as well as put people over, to the point where he hasn't won a singles match since 2018. when he couldn't act due to strikes in hollywood, he returned to the wwe for a brief run until he was called back when the strikes ended. the rock is the inverse of all of this. he has wrestled a total of 6 matches since 2004, which would be fine if not for the fact that his very presence has derailed storylines and matches, usually for his benefit. if you werent john cena, you better hope that you don't get sweeped into the rock's vortex. despite that he was portrayed as a babyface, despite storylines involving him making his opponents more likeable than him. the current decade has fared much better for him, thanks to a heel turn as a response to fan outcry when it seemed as if the rock had shoved cody rhodes out of his much anticipated rematch against roman reigns, igniting the modern day equivalent to the yes movement. his heel turn produced some of the best television wwe has produced in decades, culminating in cody rhodes winning the championship which less than a year later is already a classic wrestlemania moment. since then has been a mixed bag, but so little has happened that it is way too early to judge, and i do think his career will end on a high note. case in point, 1997-2004 rock is goated, 2010s rock has highlights but has far too many lows, 2020s rock good (he is forgiven for the cody situation if he doesn't pull shit like that again)."

[7.0] "The Rock is legendary for a reason and to deny that is to be in denial. That said, his gimmick is stale and only has lasting power because the modern product is so defanged and people love their nostalgia. Down to the core, he is in the business of getting himself over and complains like a baby with a full diaper whenever something does not go his way. "Shut your mouth, know your role" and "enjoy the ride" only works when it doesn't sound like a desperate middle-aged man getting something other than universal acclaim. Not everything he touches is gold and that fact just makes his over-compensation worse. His in-ring work was never the best, but he has the charisma to overcome and exceed that. In his time he was legendary, but these days he feels like an echo from a time that people think of more fondly than deserved."
