Sure, he was in some of the dumbest angles of all time but this is a profession where we are meant to pretend that the Goth Mean Mark is best striker in the game so just suspend your disbelief. He always stood out and I generally had fun when he was on screen. I can't quite get my head around the fact he is still only 57 as I type this. I thought he was that old in his original TNA run."

I suppose he worked well being paired with Abyss, as that character was of the non speaking variety. I do have to give him some extra points for being committed enough to style his eyebrows with gluesticks."

[6.0] "The sinister minister. A non wrestling talent has to be judged by the quality of the angles he's involved with and Mitchel just never had any good ones. His time in WCW was pretty forgettable. He really stood out as completely incompatible with the NWO vs WCW gang war story that the company was telling. TNA seemed like it was going to be a rebirth for him, and the early days of the New Church were pretty cool and if they had turned pushed that stable then I'd probably be giving him an 8, but they didn't and it fizzled out slowly. The Abyss story line ended up being so terrible with horrible promos delivered by Mitchel and Sting."

[9.0] "A fantastic manager - great mic skills and speaking voice, knows how to be an effective heel manager at ringside, good mind for the business, and has completely mastered his gimmick. Has had runs in WCW, ECW and TNA, but overall has been sorely underutilized by the big promotions."

[8.0] "Great manager. Really had the "supernatural villain" thing down cold. I don't mean to be a blasphemer, but I think he was better than Paul Bearer. (Paul never really struck me as menacing, just silly. ) But Mitchell was always a sinister looking guy. And he talked up an evil storm."
