Dream Machine

[5.0] "Original Masked persona: I want to like him so bad, his look and promos crack me up. As a babyface; in tag matches, the way he would break up a 3 count always puts a smile on my face. He's funny/silly but not *too* funny/silly. As one half of the New York Dolls: things were a total dud aside from his look. This was Dream Machine's best look. As a replacement "Bruise Brother" along with Porkchop Cash, he finally found his footing. The Cash/Dream pair wasn't the most tremendous, but there was chemistry and it all works here. Dream Machine had to lean into gimmicks hard because his ring work just wasn't there, the bell to bell is rather dull and to me that's crucial. He had a knack for being in good company though. so his limitations were well hidden. I haven't seen his managerial work yet. 4.5"

[9.0] "One of my personal favorites! The Dream Machine gimmick was great, Troy played perfectly into the loud-mouthed southerner character. It was also fun to watch him dance. He was brilliant as the manager of the Interns, riding around the outside of the ring in a wheelchair to nurse his broken leg, and yelling things over the arena PA systems to annoy the fans. A 9."

[8.0] "One of the most underrated and unmentioned of the classic Memphis mainstays of the 80s. While essentially using the Dusty/Superstar Graham shtick, he put a whole new twist on it with his mysterious mask and southern accent. It's a shame he died before the wrestlers of his era started getting their just dues."
