[9.0] "Like father, like son as the saying goes: Dr. Wagner was pretty like his son, with the exception of that amazing defining feud with El Solitario which propelled the Evil Doctor into the Olympus of lucha libre. Dr. Wagner was the kind of rudo 70's bookers loved to have: while he would spend most of the match punching and stomping the tecnicos, he was perfectly able to go the mat and would always finish his opponents in clean fashion, by either pinning them or making them submit. On top of this he was immensely charismatic and together with his Ola Blanca partner Angel Blanco one of the very first "cool heels" in history: he was one of the first who made fine to root for the bad boys. Unfortunately late in his career he was in constant pain and, by his own admission, "drinking way too much" so he basically resorted more to posing and working the crowd than to proper wrestling but by this stage his mystique and charisma were usually enough to carry the day. Ended his career in a car crash which also claimed the life of Angel Blanco a mere month after the death of Soli, thus ending forever La Ola Blanca. Differently from other legends he remained a huge fan of the sport, constantly declaring himself "immensely proud" of his sons and when he could walk again thanks to a new surgical procedure he would attend as many events as his health allowed. Nothing short of one of the all time greatest, and he was right to be proud of his sons. And the grandsons aren't too shabby either."
