Del rio was a great heel and had a great ring announcer he in my opinion is one of the most successful Mexican wrestlers ever. He held many world championships in meny promotions around the world such as Impact Wwe And AAA."

He did no work and won the 40 man rumble and WWE Championship pretty easily despite having one of the most boring movesets of a luchador and despite his character just being Mexican JBL. One point for participating in Lucha Underground and having decent feuds and matches with Johnny Mundo and El Texano Jr."

[8.0] "Alberto Del Rio strutted into WWE like he had just walked off the set of a telenovela called "The Handsome Millionaire Who Can Also Break Your Arm." With silk scarves, sparkling white trunks, and a fleet of luxury cars that made even JBL raise an eyebrow, Del Rio was WWE's answer to the question: "What if your rich cousin could also apply an armbar? " Let's give the man credit--his entrance alone deserved its own championship. Every week he pulled up in a different car like WWE was secretly sponsored by a very fancy valet service. Paired with Ricardo Rodriguez (the world's most enthusiastic ring announcer/hype man/best friend), Del Rio looked like money, sounded like money, and occasionally drove literal money to the ring."

Had all the tools on paper to be a top guy and was pushed as such, but often felt forced and never truly connected with the audience. In-ring work was fine but not particularly memorable, at least not in the WWE or TNA. Off-screen controversies have also clouded his legacy. You'd think having him kill the summer of Punk, rain on Dolph Ziggler's parade, win the rumble, end the Cena US Title run, etc he'd have gotten over better with the crowds. A career that promised more than it ultimately delivered and is rightfully overshadowed by actions outside of the ring"

[0.0] "Genuinely one of the worst wrestlers ever. Painfully mediocre in the ring, painfully mediocre on the mic, most of his feuds and matches are snoozefests. His charisma boils down to go away heat because of how terrible of a human being he is. Even his moveset lacks both depth and exciting moves, making his matches a slug to sit through. And by God was he overpushed throughout his whole run in the WWE, especially when this pathetic excuse for a main eventer was shoved down everyone's throats during Summer of Punk. The amount of push he received and talent of his are inversely proportional. I'm genuinely baffled by the amount of tens this guy has (nothing to do with my rating, I can't stand ADR as is) since the only ONE exciting moment in his entire career was caused by Dolph Ziggler's cash in. Plus, like all of his title runs in major companies were terrible. Even if he is not terrible on the mic, he always failed to bring excitement while almost always being pushed to the moon."

[10.0] "Alberto Del Rio is one of the most underrated wrestlers of his generation. Charismatic, technical, and believable both in the ring and on the mic, he had everything to be a true star. His Mexican aristocrat gimmick was executed perfectly, with a natural presence that set him apart from many others. His accomplishments speak for themselves: WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, 2011 Royal Rumble winner, Money in the Bank winner... Few can claim such a resume in such a short time. In the ring, he was smooth, aggressive when needed, and able to deliver great matches against a variety of opponents. His feuds with Christian, Edge, and CM Punk are some of my favorite memories. An incredible talent who, despite controversies outside the ring, deserves full recognition for what he achieved in wrestling."

He was an automatic channel-changer, and one of the most-laughable world champions of all-time. A total joke who was gifted a Hall of Fame career for some reason."

[5.0] "Alberto is one of those wrestlers that wrestling fans will be talking about for a LONG time.. for all the WRONG reasons. It's no secret that Alberto is his own worst enemy in the Pro Wrestling business, ESPECIALLY as a person. But I don't necessarily want to focus on his personal issues in my review, which I will get into some since it's hard to ignore, but focus on his wrestling career which for a time had it's ups-and-downs. I believe Alberto had an amazing character for his time in the early 2010s, a charisma-filled heel which owned luxury cars and felt larger than life. I do also have to say that Alberto wasn't anything special in the ring as he never had standout moves and was more of your basic technician. He was also VERY over-pushed by Vince McMahon who of course, had his favorites, and Alberto was no exception to that. He won the 2011 Royal Rumble after being in the renown and legacy-defining FCW developmental program which has churned out amazing stars like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and so many more notable names. He wasn't the right Royal Rumble winner in today's world and is considered the worst but it seemed like a breath of fresh air at the time and WWE wanted to throw him in the deep end to see if he could swim with the big timers, he had a decent match with Edge at WrestleMania which was Edge's last match until he thankfully returned to the ring in 2020. But WWE thought that Del Rio should beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship and ruin what was considered as the "best" thing in WWE during that year, which put a bad taste in many fans mouths. It wouldn't matter anyways as Del Rio would lose the championship and eventually be relegated to the other big gold belt. After some time, WWE thought that Del Rio "deserved" to be a babyface and they tried everything in their power to get fans to root for Alberto, it didn't work however because most fans just didn't care about him and they even tried to come up with anti-Mexican storylines to make people feel sympathetic and he STILL couldn't get over. Alberto would be fired after some incident backstage and he came back in 2015 and he had little-to-no energy compared to his original run in the company. He did end up having a title reign with the US title and would have an interesting League of Nations storyline but everything would come crashing down however once the infamous Paige and Del Rio relationship began, their relationship was so nuclear that Del Rio ended up getting fired from the WWE again in 2017 (this time for good) and both of them were giving the company abysmal publicity and doing things in public that were rather frowned upon by most of the people keeping up with it and especially witnesses around them (Konnan is the only one I trust when it comes to either side's stories due to his close friendship with the two, yes I know a lot of people in the IWC hate that man but I've learned to not trust any bullshit that comes out of either Del Rio or Paige because their stories are *always changing*). Of course, Paige didn't get held accountable for some of the controversies (for the record, she *never really* turned her life around much either after she left ADR like her and her fans love to push the narrative of her "doing a complete 180", but some wrestling fans are not ready to hear that though unfortunately) while Del Rio's reputation ended up taking a brutal negative toll (rightfully so) because of the relationship and he went from being someone no one cared for to someone that everyone wanted away from the industry; and it only got worse for him once serious allegations came out about him in 2020, which although he would not be found guilty by a court of law in Texas (the court case was actually dropped), most wrestling fans have NOT forgiven Del Rio for his personal issues and that will continue to remain that way even if he somehow finds help. Alberto Del Rio remains popular in his home country of Mexico, in which he is (or was) regarded as the face of the AAA promotion, but he remains a hated figure across the wrestling world elsewhere and that will not change anytime soon. I would give Alberto a 0 for his personal issues over the last 9 years, but I don't rate Wrestlers on their personal lives because if I did, I'd have to give many wrestlers a 0 and I'm not trying to do that type of bias, so he gets a 5 for his overall career NOT counting the personal issues, and I apologize if I had to make half this review about his personal flaws but then again, it is unfortunately a huge part of his career due to how prolific and horrific it was even though I do want to separate the art from the artist like I do in most cases. He's never going to get signed by any major promotion again due to his failures to recover from his problems, and looking back at the chair incident that happened not so long ago in Tijuana and his insane "I'm a victim" response to it; Uhhhhh, yeah, fuck this guy (although much like his ex who I mentioned earlier, I do hope he gets the help he needs and tries to become a "better" human being, although I doubt that will happen for him, no one hates ADR more than ADR)."

That being said, I have to say he was one of my favorite wrestlers during his tenure as Alberto Del Rio. He was an exceptional heel who could pull off very good performances, one of those you love to hate. I'm saying this because I see so many people nowadays basically pretending he wasn't in the same league as the other main eventers back then, which is simply not true."

A history of domestic abuse and other bad things that really made it difficult to impossible to be a fan of his. It boggles my mind that he is still getting booked in matches, but it seems like AAA will take literally anybody. Dude had so much potential and a family lineage that should have guaranteed him success, but he threw it all away. Honestly, all I hope for is him stepping away from wrestling and getting help for the issues he is clearly going through"

His best work was his early WWE career, 2015 in Lucha Underground and ROH and 2017 in Impact. His return to WWE in 2015 was awful from the very beginning. There was the brief moment of surprise when he was Cena's mystery opponent but that fizzled out quickly. Then as he was getting to be a big deal again the legal issues started. He probably deserves a full 0 for that but I really did enjoy his work in those brief periods of time."

Once Ricardo was no longer part of the act, ADR was toast. His biggest pop came from when Santino hit him with the Cobra, which is arguably the most anyone cared about the character of ADR. Probably not the least deserving World Champion in WWE history, but hes certainly on the short list. The craziest part of the ADR character is that I nearly forgot that hes the one who originally ended Punks first title reign, thats how forgettable he was as a performer."

[0.0] "Apart from a Abusive rapist. Alberto was a boring, not really good at wrestling, over achieving character. Everything good he did, it wasn't because of him, it was because he was surrounded by excellence. None of his championships brought anything relevant and elevated the title, as a matter of fact the best moments with these championships were when he lost them. His 2 runs in WWE were terrible, and the one in Lucha Underground was underwhelming. He had very limited promo skills as well. His Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank wins were both forgettable in the match and in the build up to his matches (Only good moment between these two was almost cashing on Punk, but that was NOT ON HIM).Even without the crimes, he would be a 3 or a 4 at best, but that adds a whole layer of awfulness. "El Patron", yeah, Patron de la mierda. Edit 29/04/24: Proven right by the Triple mania match, how do you get something that bad with a talented worker."

When he first debuted in WWE I enjoyed his strong new heel presentation but he never did much else for me during that run. Didn't enjoy his world title runs in the WWE and was disappointed in him being the one to beat Cena for the US title. Not in a good heel way either. I enjoyed the Ricardo Rodriguez part of his act. And really enjoyed his match and double turn with Dolph Ziegler in the WWE, and his match with Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground. 2.5 stars."

He will forever be part of some iconic moments like Punk's 2011 MITB or Ziggler's cash-in. Once he left WWE however, it was all downhill. Beside being an absolute garbage person, he has become a repetitive shallow old-timer luchador who is still hogging spotlights in companies that will have him. AAA still booking him as a top guy is a disgrace."

The guy was just simply a bore to watch, his finishing move was neat but everything else just fell so flat. WWE really tried to make him into their next Latino star, but he was just a pure 100% heel who could never have worked as a babyface. I did really enjoy the setup they had with Ricardo Rodriguez introducing him and Del Rio coming out in some fancy ass car, really did make him feel different to everybody else on the roster. But again, the moment the bell rang it was just downhill, the guy couldn't put on an entertaining match even if he tried."

I believe Alberto should just retire as he is never talked about outside of his mediocre run in the WWE.His attempted comeback in IMPACT was just tragic, and his current run in AAA is not talked about. His in-ring abilities, were' Decent I guess' They never really connected with me personally and to me he never did anything that someone else couldn't do better. Of all the royal rumble winners, Alberto stands out the most if you ask me, since he'is quite possibly one of the worst. To me, his career highlight in WWE will only be giving Dolph Ziggler his 2nd world title. Besides that, this asshole can go kick rocks in prison."

I enjoyed his character work in WWE, he was charismatic and stood out from everyone else due to the cars and Ricardo Rodriguez, but once they took those away from him his career went downhill. As a WWE/World Champion, the timing was just wrong as he won the WWE Championship in 2011 during the Summer of Punk when it was someone else's time, and he was World Heavyweight Champion when the title barely meant anything anymore in 2013. Much like with anyone else, I won't go into the wrestler's personal life as I really don't feel the need to do that, instead I'm only rating a pro wrestler based on the pro wrestling work I've seen them produce."
