[10.0] "one of the best and most unique wrestlers to ever grace the sport. his battes in the 90s are stuff of legend where he would put himself up against a real crazy monster who's sole goal is to END survival tobita. even at the turn of the millenium he was still putting himself in crazy matches. as he got older the more... "weird" he started to get. including coming out and regularly using a plunger as a weapon. watching one match of his will make you fully understand his great, great power."
[10.0] "Legitimately one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. A man who I would unironically put above The Undertaker, with all seriousness in my heart and in my soul. He might not be able to take more than a back bump. He might not even be able to take a back bump. But, it doesn't matter. He truly loves what he does. There isn't a single Tobita match I've seen where it feels like he's just phoning it in or anything like that. It all feels thought out, it all feels genuine, it all just feels like a man who deeply loves pro wres emanating it out to the world. Bauxite Medium is one of the greatest matches of all time. He is a bastion of people who have love, and the urge to express the love, but maybe not the ability to do it how they'd like. And yet, you can feel it. There is so much more that could happen, but you can just FEEL IT through what he can do. He's just the best, man. God bless Survival Tobita, long may he save us forever."
[10.0] "I think I can sum up Survival Tobita best with the words printed on his world famous t-shirt: He is very die hard! Hes just a Japanese rock n roller! His real name is Masaru Tobita! Knock out all enemy! Attack all monsters! I do have to knock him down 1 because hes never knocked out his most fearsome rival Mokujin Ken. If there is one thing I cant stand in pro wrestling, it is being deceived by marketing. That takes the 11 I was going to give him and drops him down to a 10/10."
[10.0] "Survival Tobita is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and I mean this genuinely. A total genius when it comes to pacing and presentation, his work in Saitama Pro is some of the most deeply engaging and enjoyable wrestling on the planet, with climactic music, raucous crowds, and extremely well-told stories that get across exactly what they want to get across, in exactly the right amount of time to minimize boredom while maximizing enjoyment. It's not like he's only good when facing off against weird monsters without a ring to wrestle in, as he's also been part of a number of awesome, hilarious matches in larger promotions, such as in Michinoku Pro's 2008 Great Space War. He's even continued to be one of the most insane characters in all of wrestling to this day with an especially great match in 2020 against Takahiro Tababa, where they spilled out of the dingy bar they were wrestling in and brawled so madly around the streets of Japan that the cops got called and the bar banned any wrestling events from taking place in it going forward. Truly, Tobita is just a different breed of wrestler, one that we will probably never see again once he hangs up the boots."
[8.0] "Let's get one thing out of the door: Tobita is not the usual wrestling god usually associated with highly rated puroresu wrestlers. Tobita is not even a good wrestler and he spent most of his career as a jobber in DDT, FMW and other Japanese promotions, often as fodder for physically imposing foreign heels. Tobita is not even much to look at, as he's never been physically imposing and is of average height. But Tobita has a rare gift: he's a wrestling comedy genius. While he's entertained crowds in Michinoku Pro with absolutely hilarious scenes, such as being "run over" by a masked heel on a moped or being packed in a garbage bin by a bunch of muscular dudes, he'll be forever associated with his own promotion, Saitama Pro, where his comedic genius was apparently not constrained but enhanced by minuscule budgets. Tobita's genius does not merely extend to fighting absolutely ridiculous adversaries in insane "matches" but to the effort he put in the whole package which often include small gems in popular and wrestling culture. I understand these days Tobita is semi-retired and wrestles only on selected occasions due to the tear and wear on his body, but I hope he still has in him the genius for another Saitama Pro run. The world would be a better place."
[10.0] "A true legend for fans of comedy wrestling, Survival Tobita put an unreal amount of effort into extremely ridiculous matches, and the world is a better place because of him."
[9.0] "Survival Tobita really entertaining i know he's all about his ridiculous gimmick but crap he's good at it never boring with this guy he's been in some very odd and funny situations i'm sure he still wrestles probably in the small independents i wish there would be some recent footage of him these days though."
