[7.0] "A mountain of a man for sure. At 6'10" tall and weighing close to the 400 lbs mark , Big John was impressive to look at. He definitely turned heads and had all eyes on him every time he walked in to an arena because of his sheer mass. There is no question about that. However, that was the biggest thing that he had going for him was his size. He was heavily limited in terms of his in ring ability, but WWF in particular did a good job of hiding that weakness by putting him in mostly short matches, having him in gimmicky situations (such as the infamous body slam challenge), and supplying him with different managers who could do a lot of the "working" for him. I did find him as passable on the micorphone though, since he had that raspy voice, and did sound like a giant. Also, he was the heel who worked with the top guys, so you gotta give him props on that too, although I think having the likes of heenan and blassie in his corner elevated his heat a lot more than he could for himself."

[5.0] "I only know Studd from his work in the WWF during the peak of the Rock N Wrestling era. He was one of the biggest heels (no pun intended) on the roster from that 1984-1986 period, but by the time he came back in 1989, it felt like his era had passed by as there were more interesting heels in the company now like Randy Savage, Rick Rude, Ted Dibiase and Mr Perfect. Not sure why Vince felt the need to push him to win the Rumble because there were a lot of fresh talent who could have benefited more from winning the Rumble and as it turned out, Studd's body was pretty trashed from injuries and he couldn't go anymore."

[7.0] "Big John Studd has a legendary career where he proved his ability as a good big man in the ring. Was a better heel than face and was decent on the mic. Deserves his place in history and the WWE hall of fame."

[10.0] "Great wrestler! His career did not last long. He was trained by Killer Kowalski. I personally did not like his mask gimmicks. He was very exciting to watch. He had feuds against Andre the Giant, Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan. His moves the bearhug, punches and bodyslams were excellent. He was a giant and was great at wrestling. His match at Wresltemania 1 the $15, 000 Bodyslam Challenge was excellent. He was not great at promos. he was excellent as a heel. Not that great as a babyface. He should have been WWF Champion if it were not for Hulk Hogan. He took a hiatus for 2 and half years. Then he won Royal Rumble 1989 which was his biggest accomplishment. Sadly he did not get a bigger push! The man's career was short and died a few years later at a young age."

Controlled the pace and the crowd. Could generate heat as a villain and even had a mini run as a face. Fit in nicely on the Heenan family. Gone to soon. Rip."

[8.0] "John Studd's career at the top of the card really only lasted around 3 years. It took almost a decade for him to learn how to work. The majority of his early days was spent with forgettable gimmicks or under a mask in tag teams for small territories. Then came his big break put into a program with Andre the giant. Studd was taylor made to feud with Andre/and Hogan. The only thing that derailed his career was his health. At 38 years old Studd had to take a break from wrestling for a couple years. He returned for a very short cup of tea in 1989 but then was unable to continue. He died way too young at 47 in 1995. I feel Studd was a more impressive wrestler than say a Kevin Nash or a Sid Vicious who probably have better reputations today. Id compare him favorably to a guy like Kane. He was one of my favorites to watch even if he couldn't wow the high spot fan boys today"
