Dante Martin

[4.0] "Not sure what it is about Dante Martin but he's just never really clicked with me personally, he's decent in the ring but beyond that he just falls flat and becomes another high flyer, not really interesting. 4"

[7.0] "In a scene full of great, young, high flying wrestlers, he was always a standout to me, yet he still feels stuck at a stale spot where he seemingly can't go further: whether it's injuries, stale booking or other things (or perhaps the combination of all of them). I still think he's great. Top Flight is a tremendous team, and we saw glimpses of him as a potential singles wrestler, in which he looked great."

[7.0] "Top Flight was exciting when they first burst on the scene in AEW. When his brother went down early, Dante shined initially. But his momentum did not last. Over the years, his spot has been overtaken by others. At this point I'm not sure how much success he'll find in AEW."

[5.0] "Dante Martin is just a complete charisma vaccum with absolutely nothing about him that excites you. He isn't poor at anything. His matches are fine for what they are and he fits in Skyflight, but he's not appealing to me."

[4.0] "Okay tag wrestler and had a decent single run while his brother was recovering from a injury. Not even close to be called attractive, him and his brothers looks like two Temu versions of the Bucks. They need to be more creative if they want to still succeed at AEW. If he is gonna stay in the business just to flip and it will not be attractive for me and apparently no one else that gets into his shit, man, quit."

[5.0] "Dante is a great athlete, not so great wrestler. He's a fun flippy match guy and can have good matches. Not sure if he's ready for TV, even though he's been on there for years. Top Flight is a fun team but both brothers lack a personality. Send them to ROH for a bit"

[6.0] "I love watching Dante Martin. His athleticism is fantastic, and he truly has improved so much since starting in AEW. When he first came around, his work was so clunky and his timing was horrible. Now that he's become an incredibly smooth worker, I'd like to see him continue to work on his character and incorporate said character into his matches more. He has been doing this, and I think he'll be able to take the next step within a couple of years. It's crazy how good he is for being so young and having to learn how to become good while on television. That's not an easy task, but he's making it work. I look forward to seeing him grow as a character, and I could see him potentially main-eventing within the next decade. If I were Tony Khan, I would send Dante on an excursion to New Japan to really hone his skills and learn to connect with audiences from more than just high spots. NJPW is in a very slow rebuilding phase right now, so it's honestly a perfect time to send over someone like Dante. I could realistically see him and Darius holding junior tag gold over there right now."

[8.0] "Dante is one of the best youbng high flyers in recent memory and has a fantastic future ahead of him. Looking forward to how he develops himself on the mic, in ring, and connecting with audiences, but he certainly has that "it" factor."

[7.0] "Very talented highflyer. What would benefit him is to work on psychology and selling to make him a little more well-rounded. He and his brother have made a good tag team. Injuries seem to be an issue which is bad for such a young wrestler."

[4.0] "Just a flip monkey for me. Nothing really cool, AR and many other AEW wrestlers are just much better then him. And i really dont like his face"

[2.0] "I want to like him since everybody freaking loves him but I just can't. He adds nothing to a card, I don't have a great match in mind when I think of him and he whether has promo-skills, nor charisma. He can jump pretty highly but that's really everything he has to offer in my eyes."

[9.0] "One of the handful of wrestlers who does something in nearly every match that makes me gasp and wonder how a human being pulled that off. One of the best high-flyers in the world even at his young age."

[7.0] "His matches are just spot fests, sure. But what spot fests they are. In an age of a lot of great high flyers, Daunte Martin is an absolutely elite high flyer. His matches are a spectacle to watch. Actually felt like he's taken a step back in the last year, or at least has failed to really improve. He's still amazingly young, though, and has plenty of time to find what he needs to take him to the next level."

[7.0] "A great high flyer with some pretty unfortunate luck. From him and (mostly) his brother Darius getting injured a lot to never getting a breakout win and a few botches (e.g. when the ladder landed on his head in the 2022 casino ladder match at All Out). He seems to have also some unfortunate booking as not properly joining Team Taz/not being in it long enough and losing to big/pushed, typically heel, wrestlers for heat, however that does show how good he is and definitely is a good face and can cut a decent promo. Just needs to breakout of Top Flight and get that big win he so desperately needs."

[10.0] "Dante Martin is probably one of the best high-flyers in terms of raw athleticism, and his ability to sell is also above average. His genre of wrestling is the high-flying/luchador style: i.e. athleticism and high spots at the expense of realism. And is particular, he is an athletic high-flyer, focusing on displays of ability, rather than dare-devil high-flyer style of someone like Jeff Hardy or Darby Allin, who focuses on high risk spots. I am rating him 10 out 10 because he's one the best in terms of his specific style of wrestling."

[8.0] "He is one of the few wrestlers in this generation that actually has the charm to be an entertaining high flyer. He reminds me of Spider-Man. He actually could wear the Spider-Man outfit, wrestle a full match, and I would take him seriously in doing so."

[6.0] "Dante is an Amazing athlete and can do things that are purely amazing but No wrestler should ever build their entire career around I Can do flips and jump high as it just won't help them in the long haul and he needs something to fall back on if he gets injured like his brother, He has so much potential but just needs more."

[6.0] "This kid had a lot of potential, I have mentioned in a review of the main I am about to mention but he reminds me of a modern Jack Evans. Creative spots a lot of the time, solid selling and good performances of said spots. he does share the botchiness tho sadly. He has a lot of potential he hasn't tapped into to be honest. here's a 6"

[0.0] "Go buy a pack with rice cakes. Now head to your kitchen. Open it up and take one out. Now start throwing it around and flipping it with your hands for about 15 minutes. Congratulations, you just experienced a Dante Martin match."

[6.0] "Absolutely nothing special or interesting about this guy. And tbh I dont see him becoming anything special in the future other than being a tag team champ. He's just a charisma vacuum high flyer with an impressive vertical."

[7.0] "At the moment of this review, he is 21 years old. He is very good in the ring but has to work on his promo skills. I am sure he will improve and have a bright future in this business. If that is the case, I would be very happy to edit my rating and rise it"

[5.0] "Just another unnecessary flippy boy in a company that has no shortage of them. On top of that, his flippy boy style is not as good as many of the other flippy boys in AEW so he just feel kind of redundant."

[5.0] "Currently still somewhat of a one trick pony. Has potential but still needs to work on his charisma and work more on his moveset. He is quite creative in his high flying technique but is still prone to being somewhat sloppy looking and really focuses on the one area he is really good at rather than try and improve in some other skills aswell. His promo ability is a glaring problem too that hopefully with time will improve"

[5.0] "Dante Martin is still pretty green but he's shown potential of being incredibly talented as a high flyer. Despite that he has the charisma of a 4x4. His team with Darius is pretty fine."

[7.0] "He has given a great impact for how young he is, he is very acrobatic and agile and that makes the public entertain and love him. On tag teams he does very well and as a singles wrestler he has managed well during Darius' injuries. The only thing is that he doesn't have any skills on the mic and he's not a very charismatic wrestler, for the rest he does his job well."

[6.0] "He's a lifeless promo with the personality of a plank of wood, but DAMN if he isn't an impressive high-flyer. In 2022, there are thousands and thousands of acrobats who all do the same spots in the exact same way and fail to stand out, but Dante manages to rise above them with the immense height and distinctively strong poses he takes when in the air. He's not just another "good but a-dime-a-dozen" acrobat you see in NXT or the indies, since he's genuinely pulling off very impressive and unique spots in signature ways every time he's in the ring. He's already this good technique-wise at only 20 years old, so if he at least dedicates a good portion of the next 10 years towards building a meaningful character and the ability to talk then he could easily be on the shortlist of all-time top high-flyers. The natural talent is there, he's just got to do some extra work on the other qualities to truly become a star."

[7.0] "Average high flyer in AEW. He is alright in the ring. He has some decent movies, but nothing totally unique if you've seen any indy wrestling. He his young though and has time to improve so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He has time to improve, but to me right now he is just average."

[5.0] "Did too much a little too quickly. Gained traction as a singles and is a reliable crowd pop (the Trios match vs The ELITE), but shouldn't have the spotlight too centred on him just yet. Didn't care for his singles matches vs Matt Sydal, but did enjoy his match vs Malakai Black. The pairing with Lio Rush is ideal, hoping they make a serious run in 2022."

[6.0] "Impressive highflyer but nothing else, he's young so he has a lot of time to work on himself to being a more complete performer"

[4.0] "Zero charisma and no semblance of any kind of character. His in-ring skills are the only thing good about him imo, because he is a good high flyer, but nothing any of us hasn't seen before. If you're gonna be a high-flyer you gotta be innovative like Alex Zayne or Ospreay, for 5 years of experience he's actually kind of meh and is nothing original. You would think they would've taught him how to do all the character and mic work stuff at Ken Anderson's school of all places but clearly not, sadly for him. Also, not gonna comment on the political aspect of it, but him wearing the BLM armband in 2021 when he's the palest guy on the roster is hella cringe but kinda amusing, so he's got that going for him I guess..."

"He's impressive in his in ring work, but for me he's just another high-flying kid with no charisma. Doesn't have looks, no mic skills, no connection with the crowd, you can say he's only 20, but it's something you either have or you don't."

[8.0] "Dante isn't the best, but he shouldn't be, he is only 20. He already has a lot of wrestling skills and I can't wait to see where he will be in 5-10 years. This guy is genuinely the future."

[7.0] "An INCREDIBLY athletic guy, but so far he is very green. He is only 20 years old and he still has a lot to learn."

[8.0] "He's had a few star-making performances but he just hasn't shown the ability to me yet to make the next level."

[8.0] "I can't believe Dante Martin is only 20 years old cause in a couple of years he will be really really good. Since his debut with AEW he's been fantastic and looked TV ready and you can see he's been getting better and better."

[6.0] "Still young, but a very talented athlete who has the potential to break the ceiling that Jack Evans, Amazing Red, and Yoshitsune have propped up years ago. However, as Vikingo and Fenix are still improving month by month, he has very big shoes to fill in the modern era before trying to surpass the legends of spastic high flying."

[7.0] "I saw him at a tiny indy show before he ever got to AEW, and even back then it was clear he's the real deal. Has everything you'd want in a great high flyer. His character and speaking skills could use work, but he has plenty of time to improve those, as he's only 20 years old at the time of this comment."

[4.0] "The high-flyers have rarely been interesting singles wrestlers. It gets super stale fast. He's a "parkour Spider-man spot monkey" wrestler, that flies just because. It's only a 20x20 ring, you have to move more methodically in there. Using that space as your own parkour set-piece breaks wrestling. I will probably follow his career and hopefully be proven wrong to see if his generation actually has inventive ideas implemented in a fresh way. From what I've seen, nothing he does makes any sense to me at all, and you can see more impressive feats of athleticism in actual competitive endeavors. Athletes in wrestling trying to compete with flippity dippities is super annoying, and none of them have any personality whatsoever."

[9.0] "I come after the fight he had against Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, this fighter is incredible, the potential he has, if he fights a lot he will achieve great goals. It has a great future."

[7.0] "Same thoughts on him as his brother: lots of potential that I have faith will be realized in years to come."

[7.0] "He's been great on Dark since his brother got out with an injury. Expecting big things from him for sure (and his brother) but now it's very apparent he can do singles and tag. Exciting prospect."

[8.0] "Like I said for Darius, he's full of potential. Hope it will be all good for him. We'll see what happens."

[8.0] "Pre AEW, Daunte had all the potential to become one of the elite indie wrestlers. But now signing with aew at such a young age he is set for life. Cannot wait to see the things he and his brother get to do in the future."

[8.0] "A bright, young prospect. He does some insane, high-flying moves, and he's got a bright future ahead of him. I don't think it'll be long before companies are fighting to sign him. He also has 1 of the best, most insane moves I've ever seen, called the Rapture. It's a standing, avalanche Dragonrana, and it's definitely the most impressive move seen in a while."
