Abadon

[1.0] "Not much positive things to say about her. Her character had a bit of promise at one point but whatever potential that was just got thrown into the trash. She's terrible in the ring and can't cut a promo either. I don't know how she managed to get on the worlds end 2023 card, but she'll never get any sort of push in a large promotion after that stinker of a match. Awful, awful wrestler, in my opinion."

[6.0] "Abadon may not be a work-rate-superstar, but their well constructed gimmick goes a long way to making that less relevant. I enjoyed the feuds in ROH and AEW where their opponents really sold the danger of the Living Dead Girl. I was sad to see them released from AEW, because I feel there's still a lot of mileage to get out of them."

[7.0] "I've been watching Abadon on RWA since their departure from AEW/ROH and really enjoy them. The character is good, it's acted well and the entertainment value in ring is great because there are definite moments during matches that define and tell the over all story turning points of the match. Abadon really is great at crafting matches and I hope that there will be an AEW return soon."

[2.0] "They're not good. I hate whenever they're on my screen. I don't like their gimmick, I think they're bad in the ring. What else is there to say? I've never seen a good match from them, I don't ever get excited whenever a match of theirs is announced for a tv show. Stunk up AEW Worlds End, has had bad match after bad match. The only match from them I've ever seen that I thought was alright was their no DQ match against Athena that was booked because it was Halloween and they just HAVE to use Abadon on Halloween. They seem like a good person and are committed to the gimmick, which I respect, but I just can't stand watching them."

[6.0] "Abadon, AEW's resident horror-themed wrestler, has carved out a unique niche with her eerie, unsettling character that stands out from the typical roster. The persona, a blend of gothic horror and a sinister presence, is undoubtedly intriguing, and she's committed to playing it to the fullest, from her unsettling appearance to her chaotic in-ring style. This commitment to the character certainly makes her memorable in a sea of more traditional wrestlers."

[5.0] "Interesting gimmick and look let down by a wrestler who has a generic moveset and seems to be unable to have a somewhat great match for the life of her. She'd be better as a manager than a wrestler. She's downright sloppy or slow at times and she's still new and green to the professional wrestling world but she's in the #2 wrestling promotion right now. There is no excuse!"

[3.0] "Abadon has a gimmick with good potential, but hasn't done anything of note within a few years with said gimmick. There comes a point where it becomes readily obvious that Abadon just doesn't have much talent. They can't talk or wrestle well, so there isn't really much of note regarding this wrestler. Abadon's gimmick makes them appear around Halloween for AEW and ROH, but there are many spooky characters I would rank over Abadon, including lower carders like Gangrel or one of Su Yung's zombies. I want to like Abadon since I first saw them in AEW, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade."

[5.0] "I want to like Abadon, but there's just a limit to their ability in ring that just makes it tough to take them seriously as a wrestling threat. Good character, particular for an indie or spooky match, but seeing as spooky isn't my thing anyways, the gimmick doesn't do enough for me to make it entertaining. Appreciate their effort in their work, but unfortunately there's probably a ceiling on their ability due to their athletic prowess."

[3.0] "Interesting gimmick, but not quite a good wrestler. Abadon never showed anything really good in their career. Very few appearances and not many remarkable moments, I think at this point I can consider them a bad wrestler, they had some opportunities, but never truly capitalized properly or made people interested."

[4.0] "Definitely can't say that they aren't dedicated to their character, and that they aren't actively trying to better their conditioning. However, Abadon just isnt a good wrestler, and one with a gimmick that inherently limits both bell-to-bell and character investment. Their latest run in AEW has been slow, dull, and downright bad."

[3.0] "I admit I don't understand the idea behind Abadon. Maybe in the independent circuit the gimmick works but on television it doesn't work at all and on the contrary gives an extremely ridiculous side especially in a structure like AEW. Unfortunately for her, without being bad, she has an average in-ring performance and is not strong enough to succeed in pulling off anything. I don't doubt his good will and the possibility that in a different circuit, this gimmick could work a little."

"They have a cool gimmick, but the in-ring work has never really clicked. They haven't really been able to shine at all with regards to matches in previous years. Hoping to see some more improvement there as I really do enjoy the character work."

[9.0] "Fun and interesting gimmick, brings something new to the table. Really seems to understand their own character. I hope to see them continued to be booked well in 2024 and not just shelved until Halloween again. Having nonbinary wrestlers on the roster is so good for representation."

[3.0] "Gimmick is way more over than the wrestling she does. She seems very sloppy in the ring, doesn't even seem to finish moves off correctly, way too sloppy. No idea why people are saying put a belt on her. Hasn't improved since she started really. makeup has gotten better I guess, but I prefer the wrestling side of the business to the gimmick side."

[2.0] "Abadon uses a common gimmick, especially in women's divisons, and does well to commit to the gimmick more than others, but is still not good enough to carry their matches. An awful wrestler, some of the most consistantly horrible performances I see. Abadon should not have their contract renewed, rhey are a massive negative when ever they wrestle and a blight on programming."

[5.0] "Abadon has a lot of potential but not given a lot of opportunities on AEW to prove it. Really unique look and character. In the ring they are alright and has shown improvement since they signed with AEW."

[3.0] "Damn. Abadon's just not a good wrestler. Their recent matches in AEW have been clunky, corny, and their character work is so limited that their ceiling is quite low. They scream constantly as a defining "character" trait, and have lost any mystique about being a true "horror" in the ring."

[6.0] "*Just a quick reminder that Abadon goes by They/Them pronouns* I personally haven't seen much of Abadon (probably because TK never puts them on TV unless it's Halloween) but I would say that they're a decent worker. I mean, their in-ring skills aren't as bad as people say and we all know they have amazing character work. I think Abadon was meant for sports entertainment. Like they're a "Living Dead Girl." That just screams entertainment to me. Also, I love the fact that they don't speak. Really adds to their character. Overall, I love Abadon and wish they were on TV more."

[2.0] "It's 2023 and Abadon is somehow still a thing on TV? Why? The "legit horror monster" gimmick was embarrassing in the 90s and it's even more embarrassing to see in 2023. Supernatural monsters. Really? I don't know how anyone can't just roll their eyes when they see 5ft Abadon crawling and lurking around the ring trying to be intimidating with her over-the-top makeup and costume, all while acting like a literal deranged zombie. Her offence is incredibly one-note as well. She must have had connections up top to get her gig with AEW, because she certainly didn't achieve it on pure in-ring ability. I can't believe that I was once expected to believe her LITERALLY BITING CHUNKS OUT OF SHIDA'S NECK AND SUCKING HER BLOOD UP. It's one thing to be a bad wrestler, but to then also introduce such totally comical elements is a far worse crime. Maybe she needs this dreadful "living dead girl" character because her wrestling is *that* bad. She definitely doesn't have the build to suit your typical wrestler, so I guess this is what she had to settle with. AEW immediately loses credibility any time they lean into this dorky "spooky" crap, even more so than when AEW do any of their many other ridiculous things. Is there just an underground swarm of diehard B-movie fans spending heaps of money on Abadon merch to justify AEW keeping Abandon on their roster? The worst part about Abadon is that her gimmick forces whoever she works with to become a total goofball as they're constantly 'horrified' and 'intimidated' by her despite how laughable she truly comes across. I'll take an outright bad wrestler like Saraya a hundred times over a hokey character like this. The one silver lining is that she's barely ever on TV, but she's still really embarrassing each of those few times."

[3.0] "Oh wow whatta terible signing this was. Littarly one match on Dynamite. One match on Rampage. And one ppv aperance to top it off. All she did was squash people on Dark but Darks notta thing anymore so shes left to litteral dark matches. If she gets more tv time I'd improve my rating for her cus she seems like a capable but as it is at this moment shes more recognised for being in Fight Forever"

[8.0] "Abadon inside the squared circle is a very decent wrestler, the gimmick fits really well to the person behind it and it can look realistic and the graveddiger is a great signature move, a rivarly with julia hart or any women in the roster would be a great fit, it still needs more exposure on the tv to the character to grow."

[8.0] "In the few appearances I've seen since returning from injury it really seems like Abadon has stepped up their game, their look and has a better idea of who they are as a character. I think the future could be potentially very bright if things continue to improve."

[5.0] "The thing about Abadon is that 90% of what makes them a good wrestler has to do with her unique take on a zombie gimmick. In-Ring wise they have a lot of ways to go, and while they're mostly exclusively a worker on Dark at the time of this review going up, some improvement is heavily needed in the ring. But the gimmick is definitely striking and very different from all the cookie-cutter monster gimmicks in wrestling, and that deserves some mention."

[5.0] "Whatever else I might think about Abadon, I can't deny that she's one of the most distinctive wrestlers in AEW. Her actual in-ring ability isn't anything special, as she's obviously very green. But I'm totally on board with her crazy zombie gimmick, and damn if her makeup work isn't a 10/10. There's a lot of ways to be entertaining in wrestling, and Abadon is definitely entertaining."

"Sa gimmick est horrible, sans interet et complétement hors de propos. Physiquement elle ne ressemble à rien, sa condition physique semble vraiment médiocre et son charisme très relatif. In-Ring elle est au mieux passable et la plupart du temps vraiment mauvaise. Elle n'a semble il que trois ans de carrière donc l'on pourrait pardonner son niveau très faible mais que fait cette femme à la télévision dans une organisation majeure? Serait elle pistonnée par quelqu'un d'autre? Elle est un choix de casting douteux qui décrédibilise franchement sa promotion. Elle aurait sans doute sa place dans une foire de village ou dans une toute petite organisation indépendante mais sa présence chez Aew n'est qu'une (très) mauvaise blague."

[1.0] "A silly make-up, a silly gimmick. Its appearance is very disturbing. She is not an effective wrestler in the ring either. She couldn't get rid of AEW Dark. I have no faith that Abadon will make the expected eruption."

[5.0] "She may not be impressive in the ring yet, but her commitment to her character and big effort trying to get better for the past year is remarkable, could be an interesting wrestler in the next few years."

[7.0] "Awesome look and satisfactory in-ring skills for just 2 years of experience, but I don't know if she can take it to the next level with this gimmick. The problem with these kind of gimmicks is if you don't go all out with things like scaring your opponent or the audience itself, your initial impact will just fade away. If she keeps working on her in-ring work and really amping up her gimmick given the opportunity, maybe she can be a big player in the women's division."

[4.0] "Not very good. I like the look a lot but the whole "spooky mind games" stuff has been played to death and back again: goofy booking has not helped in that regard as it has been downright hacky at points to watch. She's not terrible per se in terms of ring work and whatnot but definitely needs a lot of refinement and seems to be improving very slowly. I'll give Shida grief but if even she can't carry you to at least a half-decent match, there are huge issues that need to be addressed. Maybe there's something there but for now I can't really see it, and I'm definitely not trying to ballpark where she'd be in a few years."

[8.0] "I actually really like Abadon. I would've put her at a 5 last year but her incredibly impressive dedication to her character and vast improvement in-ring as shown against Britt Baker has really made me grow on her. If she gets booked like a freaky monster and has more really fun 'hardcore' matches I may actually bump this up to a 9."

[7.0] "Abadon is the definition of a worker who is made by their dedication to their character. She's fine in the ring with okay brawling and good ring awareness, but she's a master of her character and knows EXACTLY how to use it to the best effect. You won't get 5 star classics out of her, but you keep her matches short or weapon filled - and she will deliver. Considering her two years of experience, in a few years time she very well could put everything together into a more complete package, as she clearly shows a strong work ethic towards the sport with some constant improvements."

[3.0] "The makeup is menacing but seen this type of gimmick done much better by Rosemary, Su Yung and Max The Impaler. Plus she's unremarkable in the ring, which might explain why AEW mainly books her on Dark and Elevation."

[3.0] "She's got a look but it's a look that's been done by others and better. Obviously comparisons to Rosemary and Su Yung and they do it better and are better talents overall. She doesn't or hasn't brought anything new to the table to differentiate from other similar gimmicks and she's not strong in the ring either. I will give her some points for really delivering with the character. She seems to be really into it and is giving it her all but she needs to tweak things to stand out more."

[7.0] "While her in-ring-skills definitely could use some more improvement, her character work is absolutely amazing. She is a very promising talent especially considering she is only in wrestling for 2 years at this point."

[7.0] "She still a green worker for the moment, but with this great character, the possibilities are numerous to create stories, matches and moments who can stay in numerous heads. The problem is AEW doesn't care about her like AEW doesn't care about their women's division. And that's a shame. For the moment, seeing Abadon's matches in AEW is pleasant."

[1.0] "She can't wrestle and her gimmick feels like an amp up rip off. Plus she doesn't really fit the rest of the promotion. The only reason she isn't a zero is because every once in awhile she just is there scaring someone when you don't expect. It's a decent running gag."

[5.0] "A prime example of why AEW needs a dedicated training regiment for many of their talent. The character is interesting enough, but the in ring ability is simply not there."

[4.0] "Abadon has a really firm grasp of her character and gimmick. While her character is reminiscent of Su Yung/Rosemary, both of them are reminiscent of Papa Shango, and the Undertaker (among others) so that isn't a fair criticism. She has great character work, but as a wrestler she's still a rookie (with only 2 years of experience under her belt, a chunk of which she was injured. She isn't genuinely bad, but is a work in progress"

[3.0] "Interesting gimmick however very green and needs a lot of improving. Once she gets good in ring she could be a big factor in the womens division"

[6.0] "Abadon is a perfect example of a satisfactory wrestler, with a lot of ground to grow. At two years, her matches are still a bit green and short, but her Gimmick works really well in AEW due to the lack of saturation. Her matches in Respect wrestling are fine, and you can tell that her character work has come out of small performance spaces trying to always sell the character over everything. Time will tell if 2021 and beyond if she'll craft herself into something great."

[3.0] "Complete unknown with a very Decay-Era Rosemary gimmick, AEW is obviously very hot on her already. We'll have to wait and see but I have two problems with her. First, Abadon is small, much smaller than Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb who aren't exactly titans. This could make booking her strong difficult. Second, the whole undead/supernatural thing is extremely hard to book: for every Undertaker we have had a dozen Papa Shango. I hope both problems will be worked around and to be able to increase my rating shortly."

[5.0] "Her character work and look is quite great however considering she is on a bigger stage she needs to drop some of the Undertaker, Kane and Bray Wyatt antics cause it will be detrimental for her. Her in ring work is okay but needs some work because it often looks kinda sloppy"
