Bully Ray vs. Flip Gordon

[5.0] "Overbooked and gimmicky as hell, but it allowed Bully Ray to look like a dastardly heel, and the right guy ultimately went over in the end. Raven once said in a shoot interview, "There are two types of wrestling fans - those who watch for the athleticism, and those who watch for the emotional drama. " This was definitely the latter. It's not really what ROH was founded on, nor is it what ROH should be, but it doesn't hurt to offer something different every once in a while."

[6.0] "Not so bad but also not so Great this match was. Overbooked from the beginning to the End , too much interfereance, in my opinion not so much Hardcore and brawling and not so much "Wrestling" in this match. Flip's Girlfriend recited so bad , it was not realistic her interfereance in the match etc. also Sandman interfereance was not so necessary. Also Bully ray quitting only with some singapore cane stuff is a shame counting the fact that he is an Harcore Legend even more than The Sandman for example in the old ECW. Only two Good things : Flip Gordon winning and went out of the event better (i don't like him so much but ROH belives in him as a solid main eventer. ). Also another Great thing has been Bully Ray as heel, he is fantastic one of the best heel in pro wrestling still today, second only to Ciampa Jericho Bryan and few others in my opinion. I don't understand why meltzer gave this match a rating so High ..."

[6.0] "Very gimmicky match but great fun, Bully Ray might be the best heel in wrestling today and although the mass interferance would feel stupid in most matches in this one it felt justified."

[9.0] "Probably a 1 point bump since I saw it live. But I was thoroughly sports entertained! It was not Flair-Steamboat, but it was WCW Russo and AAA Triplemania on crack in all the right ways. Great close to a blood feud."

[3.0] "Too many outside interferences, too little wrestling betweeen the two wrestlers. Don't know why Meltzer rated it so high."

[7.0] "Good match in the sense that Vince matches are good, with blood, weapons, dastardly deeds and cathartic comeuppance. More an angle than a match, but a lot of fun and satisfying. Ray is one of the best heels in the world, and Flip finally got himself over somewhat as a character rather than an acrobatic marvel. Given ROH's need for signature stars, this could be a great leap in the right direction. Perhaps a bit too many run-ins and stalling, plus teased table spots that didn't happen, and one particular appearance that made the crowd very happy, but seemed totally unnecessary and distracting."
