Zwar ist er nun endgültig in dem Status angekommen, dass er Gegenstände für eine höhere Intensität braucht, da es ansonsten das mittlerweile typische slow-paced Jericho-Match ist. Das funktioniert und hat seine Momente um die Trademark-Moves und so manchem Spot. Das Ding vom Apron durch den Tisch mal ausgenommen. (***½)

The start had some bland brawling but once they began laying into each other a bit more and throwing some sequences, this really picked up. The winner was never in doubt, neither was the aftermath too. Good title defence by Jericho and solid main event. ***

I think a large part of that is the fact that unlike with Naito and Omega I don't feel like EVIL's talent is being wasted here and he just seems to fit into a hardcore style match better.
8809.11.2018seriousbusiness8.0For all the criticism that Jericho's title reign gets, he still knows how to bring it in a big match. I for one am glad a NJPW main event in 2018 didn't go 30+ minutes, so that was refreshing. The chemistry between both men was surprisingly really good as well. I could've done without the finisher kick outs, but Jericho still won the match with the Walls which was great. Alternative finishers is something I wish New Japan would use more of. Not a MOTYC by any means, but still a unique encounter that paid off, ****1/4.
