This gradually shifts toward the veteran Liger taking over proceedings and stretching Inoue out as Korakuen begins to get behind the youngster. Inoue forces an opening by blocking a charge and then smashing Liger's knee around the ringpost and apron. This gives Inoue focus for his submissions and a way to counter Liger's attempts at offence. The leg capture Achilles hold went on slightly too long without getting the submission for my liking but can be handwaved off as the rookie not having it applied correctly, I guess. Inoue gets a big reaction with a backslide for a nearfall, and another for countering a Liger splash from the top rope with the knees up and then into an armbar. Inoue's attempt to create distance and pick up the pace becomes his downfall as Liger counters with the Koppo Kick, then a Shotei~! , then the Brainbuster and that's all she wrote. Lot of fun stuff crammed into the fourteen minutes, worth checking out. |
