[9.0] "A fun, brutal match that made great usage of the bullrope gimmick. You can see the stragtegies both women formulate during the match and the sense of emotion and exhaustion is palpable. Definitely the best match of their feud."

I think my biggest gripe is that this shouldve definitely gotten more time. 10 minutes for a Texas bullrope match feels criminal. This shouldve gotten at least 5-7 more. Other than that I thought it was solid"

Weird moment where Rosa forgot to kick out and an unfortunate table spot gone wrong are unfortunately the things that stuck out most."

[4.0] "I thought it was a bad sign when this went second. It kind of immediately cuts off expectations in terms of the importance of a feud-ender and stip match when it's just second on the card and on top of that a third of it is in commercial. There really wasn't anything these two haven't done in any of their matches before and there were a few hiccups that made this pretty disappointing."

[6.0] "I liked their previous Street Fight better because it had more intensity. This one felt - for the most part - very "weak". Some good spots where their but they could have done more with that Rope (and the bell). Some minor hickups like the very late kickout after the Piledriver by Rosa. Overall still good, but I know they could have done better."

[8.0] "The women in AEW always seem to thrive in these plunder matches! I wasn't too hot on any of their previous encounters, but found this one to strike the right balance between rugged intensity and good clean work, buoyed by a Texas crowd they had eating out of their hands. The powerbomb/piledriver combination from Deonna and Rosa's corner dropkick with the chair were straight up nasty. For me, this was Rosa's best match since DoN 2022."
MaveDeltzer wrote on 14.08.2024:
[6.0] "This match was good sloppy in parts (the brutal powerbomb followed by the piledriver) and bad sloppy in others (Rosa not kicking out, crap table spot) but I liked more than I disliked. The first half was a little slow but things did pick up as it went. The camera and live editing crew have gotten better at steering things away when someone is fishing for a blade. It didn't feel like the rope played a huge factor in the latter half but I'm glad they were able to do all of this without bringing out and further devaluing the thumbtacks."

[9.0] "Whenever AEW lets their women go off on a big bloody grudge match, they tend to do a great job and this is no exception. Hell, they should be doing it a lot more I think, these women are ready to bleed to show how great they are. Both Rosa and Purrazzo feel like they have been pushed to the side somewhat but they were out here to prove that's a mistake. This was violent as hell, Rosa bleeding everywhere early on from a sick cowbell shot, and they made tremendous use of the stipulation as well as many other weapons and brutal spots. The match looked great, the crowd responded, everything came together really well here."

[5.0] "Felt like a cliff notes version of a feud-ending stipulation match. They did have some good spots like the dropkick and the powerbomb/piledriver (although that might have knocked out Rosa) but this felt kinda rushed with no room to let anything breathe."
Traum Einhorn wrote on 13.08.2024:
[2.0] "Hmmm not very good in all honesty. Rosa forgot to kickout at one point and for two wrestlers who haven't had a standout match together having a rope tied to them only further decreases their chemistry. The blade jobs felt very mandatory rather than being a blood feud gimmick. In fact it was weird this wasn't given more time and a main event spot but instead was second on the show? Everything around this made the stakes feel too low to really buy into what they were doing. Hopefully they finally move on."
JoeyBingBong wrote on 12.08.2024:
[8.0] "After a mostly middling feud, Deonna and Rosa emphatically stuck the landing with this Texas Bullrope match. Rosa is superb here, wrestling with immense fire throughout. Her knack for striking visuals is the match's centrepiece though, sporting a crimson mask and at times, capturing a desperation and gravity even beyond the moment's violence. To be fair, they soon deliver on that front too, with Purrazzo adapting to the setting and visibly growing into the match. By the end, it climbs well beyond any prior piece of the programme, actually going as far as becoming my favourite AEW TV match of the week. ***3/4"

[7.0] "It was a good hardcore match up but like a lot of stipulations I feel like the use of other weapons hurts the match. These two brought the creativity and intensity needed to make it work. These two made all their spots look clean and effective and audience loved the match."
Michael Morbius wrote on 12.08.2024:
[7.0] "Really good brawl between these two that will, most likely, put an end to their feud. Rosa always thrives in these kind of enviroments and Deonna held her own in type of match she's not used to. There was a good intensity and both got their spots in. They both got color and took some nasty bumps. The crowd was into it. I liked Rosa's dropkick with the chair and the bulldog from the top rope on the table was a cool ending. 7/10 - 3.75*/5*"

DOUKI4CHAMP wrote on 12.08.2024:
[6.0] "This was a good TV match that will be memorable for the blood and plunder that isn't as common in women's wrestling. This started off a good brawl with good energy and heat between the two, but then it lost some momentum as they brought out the weapons. It was a hard spot for Purrazzo to get everything into the ring while having Rosa connected to her while she is trying to sell. The action in the ring after that had no flow to it and the stuff with the table was taking away from them putting any good stretches together. ***"

[4.0] "I didn't really buy into this match. Felt very much like they wanted to have a bull rope match and bleed because that tends to be how the women get attention in AEW when they're not in favor with the booking going on. As for the rest of the match, kind of slow and the rope seemed to confuse them at points for whatever reason."
Soo-Play wrote on 11.08.2024:
[5.0] "Felt like a very anticlmactic ending to a feud that never really had any peaks anyway. That being the case makes the blood and stip all the more forced rather than a culmination of a feud. Doesn't help there's a commercial break in the middle of it all either."

[6.0] "An alright TV match. Some spots here and there, some blood (that's always a big plus, especially considering women's wrestling) and that was maybe the best match they've had. That said, I wasn't fired up for anything in this match"

dyingsignalsdotlove wrote on 11.08.2024:
"This match was the motivator to get me to rate more matches, Thunder and Deonna shine when given the chance at violence, the intensity between them, the ability these two have to express emotion through bloodshed gives a feud I've been generally unhappy with due to keeping them trapped in each other's orbit some actual weight and meaning. Deonna is one over on Rosa at the time of this victory, but Rosa's blood-soaked weeping following the end of the match speaks to much more about the intensity of what these two can bring to the table. I'm not sure how they settle the score, and keep the intensity and violence moving forward, but I'm thrilled this was one of my first Texas Bull Rope matches I've seen."

[8.0] "Best match I have seen from Thunder Rosa in a good while and Deonnas best so far since her arrival in AEW. Violent with an invested crowd. This had a nice build up leading up to this payoff with how long the two have been feuding and is a nice example of showing that AEW can book feuds well in their womens division away from just the championships. A very good brawl that was my favorite match on AEW TV since Page/Bryan. Good location choice for the match in a match that elevated both talents by the time it was over. 7.5-8"
