110.08.2024Ma Stump Puller6.0GOAT-tier old men vs shitty NOSAWA should mark certain disaster, this actually wasn't half bad though. NOSAWA works well enough as the disrespectful youth trying to steal Tenryu's moves while Fuchi works his usual old-man shtick comedy act with a willing MAZADA before dropping the gimmicks to just contort the poor lad until he's in pieces. This followed a fairly easy formula of the oldies being overall better but NOSAWA and co hustling their way out of sticky situations despite the beatdowns via dirty antics. MAZADA even reverts back to MUGA-mode with a cool rolling key lock into chickenwing transition. The middle has the two take over using their speed, hitting safe but decent offence on Fuchi (since Tenryu ain't bumping for these two lol) until the inevitable Tenryu hot tag has him just no-selling and landing mean punches to the pair, pinballing them around. This isn't anything new by Tenryu performances; why would it be anything different though? The guy knows what works in wrestling and what works here especially is a dude chopping/punching someone until they can't get up. Though he does pull out the Cloverleaf on NOSAWA which was a nice touch to his younger days. They know when to wrap this up as the peak of the match is met with Tenryu smashing MAZADA with a chair before hitting a pair of nasty grounded punts to his partner. Fuchi gets in and cleans up shop with numerous back suplexes alongside Tenryu hitting his 53 Sai! I guess this was their way of putting NOSAWA slightly over but since Fuchi's back suplexes by this point were pretty unimpactful the crowd kinda died for the whole sequence until it eventually got to the end. Mostly carried by the violence of Tenryu and the careful work of Fuchi, though I think this match highlights his weaknesses in that his selling here was a bit over the top and he does struggle to carry a crowd when he doesn't have a dramatic opponent to really bounce off. NOSAWA put in a fairly standard performance that only really stood out due to him bumping like crazy and the disrespect spots which were admittedly quite funny.
