[9.0] "Absolutely amazing as a Will Ospreay main event should be. Absolutely loved seeing him begin to flirt with heel tactics but still maintain the Honorable character. His offense feels so fresh here and as said on commentary "he can hit you from any angle". Great showing for Jay Lethal here too, probably one of the best performances I've ever seen from him. He plays the veteran so well here as he just has an answer for everything Ospreay throws at him and Ospreay throws the kitchen sink at him. Can't believe how flawlessly the belt spot was executed as well, it was so perfect that it didn't even feel scripted and more like a freak miracle. Weird that the crowd seemed pretty heatless for some of this but they'd been pretty cold all night and on rewatch I can't chalk that up to the wrestling especially not with this match because is absolutely fantastic"

[9.0] "(Grade:A) I was enjoying this great match! Ospreay trying to prove himself again after his loss against Lethal and you can tell he's transiting into being in the heavyweight division so he was a buff man and Lethal wasn't about to drop that title to him. There were so many spots that caught me off guard and as the match want on it kept ramping up and getting more action-packed! I was skeptical & worried when Ospreay tried hitting Lethal with the title but when he started hitting those fury of kicks I was going bonkers! This was very fun!"

[9.0] "This was a great match. It was around this time that Will Ospreay started gaining some muscles so that he would be able to wrestle in the Heavyweight division in New Japan. What made this match great wasn't just the work involving both men, but they were telling a story that Ospreay was obsessed with beating Jay Lethal after a previous loss to Lethal. A couple of different times, Ospreay teased using the belt on Lethal, but would fake him out and hit him with whatever move he used. The finish was cool, with Ospreay going for a rana from the top rope, but Lethal countered that into a power bomb and then hit the Lethal Injection. ****1/4"

[8.0] "Really good match between Ospreay and Lethal to end this Death Before Dishonor PPV, really the kind of fresh poster you imagine for years between two of the top names in the industry and who's as good as you imagined it to be once it happens. Honestly it wasn't a classic or anything but it was perfectly what it was supposed to be given their totally different styles, they managed to connect well together and it was a super enjoyable match to watch from the first minute to the last. I like to say that so I'm going to say it, what they came up with together was just simple but effective because they kept it sober but still managed to amaze us with great spots so I was really pleased with what I saw here. The best answer to those who say Ospreay is a spot monkey because here he and Lethal managed to tell a story without an overdose of flippy stuff and nearfalls, just a good old well-worked wrestling match between two excellent performers."

[9.0] "This was Ospreay's first time transitioning to a more heavyweight-oriented style, and he did not disappoint. Jay Lethal was great here, and this was probably the best ROH title match in several years. ****1/2"

[8.0] "8. 05/10 : Yes, great and then a teeny tiny bit more! This might truly be the first full Jay Lethal match I watch, in that case, what an awesome first impression! Ospreay was on top of his game, he was full character-developed Ospreay instead of happy go-lucky Ospreay. Great wrestling and cool match !"

[9.0] "Easily the match of the night, and it deserved to be the main event. Lethal was great during the match as always, but Ospreay was clearly the star. He was so desparate to get his hands on that world championship, and it was clear that he was trying to prove himself as a heavyweight during the match. He wasn't going overboard with flips at all, just focusing on his toughness and his striking. Seeing this match makes me want to see a lot more of him in New Japan's heavyweight division, and hopefully he gets there. But either way, these guys went to war. They were countering everything that the other through at them, and they were trying so hard to stay in each other's heads. It was like watching people playing a game of chess, where they were trying to think of everything their opponent could possibly do. Ospreay also teased a heel turn throughout the match, so that was an interesting underlying story as well. The ending sequences were perfect, and I was pretty surprised by the post-match antics as well. ****3/4, but I could easily see this being a 5 star match."

[9.0] "Easily the best ROH singles match this year which isn't surprising considering it has Will Ospreay in it. Don't get me wrong, I think Jay is a great talent, but Ospreay was the clear star of this match, and maybe that was the point of the story told throughout it. If you have any doubts about WIll Ospreay transitioning very well into a heavyweight, then this match could probably change your mind. No excessive dives, no dangerous spots, just an awesome ROH title match which is what the promotion desperately needs more of, ****1/2."

[9.0] "Really awesome match. Very grounded but action packed. Ospreay didn't kill himself and showed that he can go still without doing anything crazy. He's so fluent when putting things together. The pace was always going great. Even when it was slow they moved enough to keep it interesting. Jay was great as well and is finally giving the ROH title the matches it should be having ****1/4"
