Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Takanori Ito

[4.0] "It was a disgusting booking and disgusting UWF match. Ito, my boy, how they massacre my boy. Takanori one of the best wrestlers that GLEAT have, but he still just a boy for beating. The result is bad and because of a result match bad too, because Katsuhiko need to lose, because he didn't understand some moments in this type of match and he was near the losing, but after that he just won the fight. Without fire, without strategy, he just killed Takanori by his moves and it's all. Nakajima did his base and it's all. .He didn't try do something. It is Nakajima with his old moves and new silly character, who continue made silly video and promo for nothing because in the match he still old-type Nakajima. The most funny moment in that Katsuhiko don't care about his legacy, he only care about title on his shoulder. What a big dissapointment."

[9.0] "I am not somebody who typically enjoys the fake MMA or fake boxing matches that some wrestling promotions do from time to time (the UWF Rules matches before this one I thought were quite bad) but this match was honestly incredible to me. Both men beat the hell out of eachother and made it so intense and dramatic. I thought it was great."

[5.0] "I wanted this to be good, I really wanted this to be good but it was mostly rubbish. Katsu is my guy, I love him and despite all the drama. his run in AJPW was great but good lord has it all gone wrong. I have been watching way too much Battlarts recently to think this one was anything but a bit hokey."

[5.0] "[2.5*] Another decent match. I mean, of course the technicals were great, the kicks were beautifully executed, but man, this was so goddamn boring. The only moment this match had a little bit of drama was when Katsu had just 1 point remaining but it ended shortly after. Very cold for a UWF Rules, despite being good technique-wise."

[7.0] "I thought this was a pretty good match, I saw the average rating and people trashing the match and thought: "oh, it's just a stinker by Nakajima at his GLEAT debut", but gladly I watched the match, this was very solid, very enjoyable, they worked stiff, Ito even bled from his nose, the technique was awesome, could had more emotion at the end but it was definitely a good match, good start for Nakajima - {***1/4}"

[5.0] "I was excited for this - love Nakajima, love UWF. But there were only a few exciting moments. The stand-up exchange after the yellow card didn't seem dramatic at all, yet it led to Ito getting busted open. I will say it was clever to get Nakajima down to 1 point the way they did: 1-seemingly not understanding the rules, 2-yellow card, 3- double down, 4-straight up knockdown. Nice progression."

"It was a good UWF rules match as expected from them, especially good strikes. A bit weird to see Nakajima go from a hot Inoki cosplay angle to leaving AJPW, get cold and suddenly showing up in GLEAT. Not sure he got what he hoped for but I think this promotion is good for him. His wrestling style fits with the UWF rules and he could be a great champion and finally get this thing going if the title actually gets defended more often. ***3/4"

[7.0] "I liked it but it should have been a good 5-10 minutes longer. Two guys beating the fuck out of each other."

[7.0] "A solid UWF rules match. The kicks were executed well and ofc Katsuhiko Nakajima did amazing. The strikes were good and Takanori Ito did a decent job with Katsuhiko Nakajima but its clear that Nakajima has more experience. Overall 7/10 solid match."

[8.0] "Good stroking exchanges, fun grappling exchanges. If youre a fan of uwf types of matches i think youd enjoy this."

[9.0] "People must be out of their minds because this was incredible. A true match-of-the-year contender. This had amazing heat, and there was a lot of doubt about who was going to win to the very end. That Ito kick to Nakajima's face was brutal. With Katsuhiko on top, this division has everything to work now. And I hope it does because I just love this style."

[7.0] "Fun match with Nakajimas personality and style fitting the UWF rules well. I was relieved that Ito got to look strong in defeat and made the match feel uncertain. The yellow card for Showtime was genuinely funny stuff."

[6.0] "The match was fun enough with both guys doing some decent selling when they were hit with big strikes."

[5.0] "[2.5 Stars] I was very disappointed by this match. I didn't know GLEAT or the stipulation before the match and in the end the stipulation was ridiculous. I watched the match for Nakajima and my god the glow down between the dubious choice to leave AJPW when he was excellent to play the role of the homeless then the teenager without any charisma at GLEAT no really I do not understand. I adore Nakajima enormously but I'm beginning to think he's got too high an ego - he left NOAH when he was no longer the head so he went to AJPW and became champion and as soon as he lost he split to GLEAT and in his 1st match he became champion and he'll surely leave GLEAT again when he has no more titles. He complains that the big federations despise him but he behaves like a child."

[6.0] "This was fine, nothing mindblowing. I fully expected Nakajima to walk in and walk out with a new title, but the match was a lot more competitive than I thought it would be, and Ito got a decent number of points before Nakajima put him away with a bloodied nose. There was one kick to the head from Ito late into the match that knocked Nakajima off his feet, his sell was great and I really bit into the potential that he might actually lose. I also liked how he got a yellow card for showboating, that felt very on brand."

[6.0] "It was a decent match, although I felt it spent a bit too much time with the half-hearted striking towards the middle. The grappling segments were better than I expected though, and Nakajima looked pretty good there. The ending stretch felt a little too much like a pro-style finish but that's just my two cents. Overall, I enjoyed this. It could have been better though. ***3/4"
