[8.0] "This is a great storyline, underrated like everything Suzuki ever did in his carrer, but it's a great storyline. Suzuki and Tanahashi are builded with legends of that sport and they did a good job of keeping the match in fire. There's one little mistake:the match itself was 80% leg work by both wrestlers and slaps. If you have some kind of trouble to connect with that style, probably the match fucking sucks for you. But for me, not a single problem, I love that style of wrestling and it's a match of the night, without a doubt. High praise for the Inverted Dragon Sweep that Tana did on Suzuki, I really thought that he had his leg broken."

[8.0] "This was an excellent wrestling match and a perfect example of a G1 match. Their last match went over 30 minutes and neither guy wanted to waste any time here. Suzuki's urgency was incredible as he immediately began working on the knee of Tana which continued the incredible story of their Sapporo match. Suzuki's submissions looked brutal and Tana sold them like the GOAT that he is. Tana's comeback was really good too. His Dragon Screws looked terrific and he showed a ton of desperation to get the win. ****1/4"

Suzuki went after Tanahashi's knee early which was good and targeted it with multiple heel hooks which looked really painful. I liked how Suzuki relished hurting Tanahashi and punishing him. The way Tanahashi sold the pain was really great. I really liked how Suzuki shifted between multiple submissions from the heel hooks to ankle locks to knee bars and more. He showed complete domination and it was really excellent. Tanahashi got an opening after getting a rope break and hit a leg whip but it didn't last long before Suzuki gained control and went back to submissions. There was an excellent sequence with Suzuki hitting multiple slaps. I liked some of Tanahashi's nearfalls where he quickly cradled Suzuki. I liked how Tanahashi made a last ditch effort to win and luckily really hurt Suzuki with an inverted leg whip. finally, Tanahashi hit two High Fly Flows to win. This match was Really fantastic match"

A big portion of the match was comprised of one long sequence where Suzuki chained a number of devastating leg submissions together, showcasing Suzuki's expertise as a destroyer of limbs. This was a great match, but I took some points off because the leg work didn't really play into the finish as I had hoped it would."

The match is basically an abridged version of their New Beginning match, with Suzuki brutalizing Tana's leg for the majority of the match before Tana comes back with one of the SICKEST dragon screws I have ever seen. The match ends pretty quickly after that, which keeps it from "great" territory from me, but still a very good match. ****."

[8.0] "Suzuki sure hates Tana's legs. Just like their match in Sapporo, Minoru was in control for pretty much the enitre contest, using a plethora of holds to try and destroy Tana's knee and heel. Tana worked brialliantly from underneath, constantly trying to muster up a comeback and selling his pain and agony perfectly whenever Suzuki cut him off. In the end, things got back to vertical base and Tana somehow managed to get the win, but not before he got the taste slapped out of his mouth by Suzuki. ****1/4"

They sold their injuries, they played their characters perfectly and the psychology was on point. Tanahashi is brilliant and Suzuki is walking nightmare fuel. I loved this match."

But this time Tanahashi was able to mount the comeback and get his win back. Not as good as you would usually expect Suzuki/Tanahashi to be but still great (****)"

Having the majority of the match be Suzuki working the leg of Tana made sense but the sudden quick comeback by Tana after being dominated thoroughly through most of the match felt a bit off. But still Suzuki was devastating as always and Tana sold it like a million bucks (***)"

[7.0] "This was awesome until about the final four seconds. If Suzuki had squashed Tana and pinned him on the piledriver tease, I'd have loved this. If Suzuki had dodged the second High Fly Flow, and the two had fought to a more decisive-feeling finish, I'd have loved this. Instead, the finish felt totally flat and not set up at all. You can't have one person dominate the entire match, and then the other person win cleanly when they hit six moves the whole match. It was literally six! Flying Forearm, two Dragon Screws minutes apart, a Slingblade, and two High Fly Flows. NJPW books Minoru Suzuki like a glass cannon, but this was too much for me."

Suzuki went straight to Tana's leg and held him in there for what seemed like half the match. Tana made his comeback and finishes it off with a High Fly Flow sequence. No smoke and mirrors, just some great stuff from both of them, I just would have hoped for more. (****)"

Unfortunately, he failed just after a single dragon screw and he sold it like he was legit injured. Amazing. This felt shorter than expected but they still delivered."

[8.0] "Suzuki vs Tanahashi was the perfect example of a G1 match. Great displays of urgency and desperation shown. Even more so considering their last match went over 30 minutes and neither wanted a draw here. Both trying to finish each other off early. Suzuki going for the quick submission, trying anything to tap out and Tanahashi desperately trying to block it. A great example of a G1 match. ****"

[7.0] "This was a good callback to their previous match at New Beginning where Suzuki did massive amounts of damage to Tanahashi's knee, but with the end result getting flipped over by a miracle comeback. The thing for me, however, is that repeated, long series of submissions take me out of the match, so this match carried the same flaws as the previous one. The ending worked, if only because Suzuki sold in a manner that he never does from a dragon screw, which gave Tanahashi a reasonable chance at the pinfall. The damage to Tanahashi's knee is probably meant to set up for his next opponent (Jay) getting another massive victory in the G1."

[10.0] "A textbook showing of how minimalism can still be effective. Most of the match was Suzuki dominating Tanahashi with various holds with the way he was able to transition into each submission was a true work of art but the best part was Tanahashi's selling of the whole match. Most matches that have long drawn out submissions tend to annoy me but Tanahashi was able to use that whole time to pull people in like only he can. Once that was over, Tanahashi's comeback was a textbook babyface comeback which was awesome. The ending stretch with that reverse dragon screw looked nasty and Suzuki's selling was excellent as well. All in All, I loved this match and it definitely has a place among all the other matches these two have had against each other."

[9.0] "One slight complaint I have about this is that I thought Tana went a little too no-selly w/ his comeback that lead to his victory, but his run on the offense wasn't very long, so it didn't take too much away from the match. Overall I liked this even more than their excellent Sapporo title match from January; major key in that was the length - with this only going about 14 minutes, there wasn't any filler. It's that G1 magic, baby. Suzuki was absolutely amazing w/ his work over the knee of Tana, which continued the story of that previous match of theirs perfectly into this one. His strikes were also lovely, that slap exchange where Tana slapped MiSu a couple of times, and MiSu slapped Tana about 320 times was just so great. Tana's big comeback that I already talked about a bit was really good too - that Dragon Screw was BRUTAL. And MiSu sure sold it like DEATH. Great match. ****1/4"

Suzuki went right for the kill at the beginning by destroying Tanahashi? s leg in brutal fashion. The finish is a little weird as Tanahashi makes a standard comeback to win the match, kind of no selling the damage. Also the first match over ever heard Suzuki scream in pain in, ***3/4."

In the end, a pro wrestling match it supposed to be entertaining. This was not. Watching Suzuki work a leg on the ground for 20 minutes just doesn't tickle my fancy. **3/4"

[9.0] "Weird pacing is my only gripe with this. Aside from that, this was fantastic. Suzuki destroying Tanahashi's leg again was brilliant. The comeback from Tana was great as he kept selling the leg but the key to this was the dragon screw. Suzuki spent the whole match on top but once he got caught by the inverted dragon screen it was over. Great stuff, ****1/2"
