Dustin comes out swinging as the fiery young babyface until he takes an impressive bump over the top rope to the floor, allowing wily grizzled veteran Arn to turn the tables, but Arn's dirty heel tricks end up costing him the match after quite a clever little finishing sequence. I really enjoyed this and thought it deserved longer, but unfortunately it didn't really seem like the big payoff it was supposed to be, and to its detriment, WCW was beginning to move away from this style of wrestling."

Arn was class though. His counters were so good. I thought the match was really starting to cruise when they did the finish. Arn's beat-down post match looked brutal."

Since this match is here to settle the score it can only go one way, waiting for some aggression and for Dustin to get his revenge."

Nevertheless work-wise it was very good, as both guys were fantastic wrestlers. Arn's little heel tricks were great, Dustin took a fantastically looking bump to the outside of the ring and the finish was nice."

Arn's arm gets worked on after his blunder early into the post and then Dustin gets behind the eight ball after throwing himself over the top rope. Dustin able to get the quick rollup on Arn after Arn gets caught holding the ropes for his pin. 3/5 Stars"

There's little flash here, but plenty of intelligence and ring awareness on display to go with the power on display. A good ending where Arn's cheating comes back to bite him, followed by post match action to continue the feud. Plus, Dustin's "The Natural" theme is a banger, which always helps."

Arn gains control after Dustin took a wild bump to the ramp, and he works him down to set up an expectedly fired up comeback from Dustin. The finishing sequence was smartly done, and AA immediately laying Dustin out with the DDT afterward was an awesome heel move on his part. Need an extra few more minutes and this one a classic. Dustin looked like a megastar babyface here. I reckon he would of went on to be a bigger deal if he wasn't southern as WCW looks to be moving away from being classed as a southern wrestling promotion around this time. I love the small details this has like Dustin pulling down his kneepad before attempting a knee drop. Arn teasing the DDT was great too. I'll have to check out their 1992 match at some point as I loved this."

You've got crazy moments like Dustin's big bump to the floor, and on point sequences like Arn's DDT attempt and Dustin's counter. Really good stuff from both, I'd say this match is certainly way underrated."

[7.0] "Obviously this could've been a better match given both Dustin Rhodes and Arn Anderson's god given talents in the ring, but I thought this was still a pretty good encounter at Halloween Havoc 94 for their feud that they had back then. I liked the finish of the match too especially considering how the aftermath went down after that finish. Arn Anderson tried to cheat by using the ropes, the referee saw it, then Dustin got the quick pin on him for the win, then Arn being the great heel that he was, he attacked Dustin immediately after that win cause of course he wasn't going to let Dustin have the last laugh like that. Good stuff regardless."
