[9.0] "Not my favorite wargames match but still amazing! HOT crowd with some great action. Great pace that was set from the beginning and stayed that way until the end. I like that my favorite parts of this match happened in the beginning and in the finish, that being arn/dustins exchanges and col roberts getting beat up. Loved this"

I didn't care for the Rhodes family by this point in WCW, but this proved they still had some gas in the tank."

[7.0] "There are individual great performances in here from Funk (falling through the tiny gap in between the two rings was a great bit), Arn, Meng on the outside and especially Col Robert Parker but it is a step down from the usual Wargames matches. Loads of these guys are not main eventers which harms the heat until Dusty enters and it lacks that little bit of extra violence a Wargames needs. This felt much more like the very sterile Wargames type matches that WWE present in the modern era, it has tasty bites but you never get the meal you are looking for."

Dustin was one of the best babyfaces in the business at the time, seeing Dusty back was a great sight and all of the heels presented lots of personality before and during the match. I also liked Parker throughout the whole thing, who was fantastic at being a chicken shit heel. Not the most brutal bout, but it didn't need to be."

[9.0] "Wrestling didn't have to be "sterile", I think in this case some of the awkwardness was even appropriate given the craziness going on. The story leading up to the match was also fascinating. The elimination of Meng from the match and the addition of Col.Robert Parker, the formation of Dusty's team with his son and Nasty Boys, with whom there was a very cool segment. Most intriguing, of course, was the appearance of Parker, who although he has a solid background as a wrestler, has always been strictly a manager in WCW, and the appearence of Dusty Rhodes, marking the official start of the match. This was a kind of soft hardcore, there was no blood in the match, which is like a distinctive feature. The main focus of the match was the story, and each of the participants brought their own input and looked relevant. Faces got a triumphant victory by beating the Stud Stable's leader well, which of course is probably not a very heroic act, but still the moment became quite enjoyable and the match left a positive impression."

Coward Colonel Parker and Terry Funk were pretty amusing to watch, Arn vs Dustin to kick us off was a great choice and I wish we had more of that. Speaking of Arn, he bumped like a boss throughout the match to make it as entertaining as possible. A valiant effort from everyone involved."

[8.0] "I know a lot of people dislike this match as its lacking the blood and violence that previous War Games matches have had, but the wrestlers here work with the cards they have been dealt and come up with a very entertaining family-friendly, and blood-free edition of the War Games. Anderson being a chickenshit and bumping around for Dustin during the first five minutes might be my favorite part of this match. I love the spot where he gets his dome caught in between the two rings. Funk is another highlight, with the Funk removing one of his cowboy boots before he's even entered the match. He comes in swinging, and the momentum of his assault sends him flying in a comedic manner. Funk then get piledriven between the two rings and he ends up falling down the gap. Great stuff! Col Robert Parker does a great job at acting like he's a non-wrestler by looking like he's about to have a heart attack when he's forced to enter the cage. Dusty is here for the feel-good ending. He rushes in and nails the heels with elbows and the faces soon win after beating down Parker. The result was never in doubt, but this was a very fun watch."

Loved the chicken shit antics of Parker at the end too. Begging Meng to take his place to punching Dustin and hurting his hand in the process. Great pacing and great action are the main positives of the match. Great stuff. ****1/4"

It's not quite as good at the end when it devolves into beating on Col Parker, but a lot of the brawling is top notch and the crowd is hot. Wish they put Meng in there instead of Parker, could have put this over the top, still this is a pretty great War Games."
