It was the best work in Gabes career imo. This is my 2nd favorite match from him and the tag match witth Jake against KENOH vs Kaito is my 3rd. So, 2 matches of the Top 3 are from this little NOAH run, which was a huge success. I think he peaks here and he should stay, NJPW brings the worst out of him with this forced fighting spirit bullshit. Anyways, this was a bloodbath, a war, a match where the visual was so cool it was impossible to not be locked in. The only thing keeping me away from giving it a 9/10 is the lack of nearfalls. I was expecting a kickout after the Shining Wizard because there were not a lot of emotional moments where the match could end, so this is something I disliked. Everything besides the finish was almost perfect imo, and the storytelling was tremendous. This feud is GREAT. |

Gabe Kidd took Kaito to the limits in a bloody, violent, brutal affair. Gabe is really the star of this for me - his facial reaction after getting busted open and going full Terminator mode is EPIC. Kaito stands up to the bully and defends NOAH's honor in spectacular fashion though with a double Shining Wizard to close the deal, finally proving that he is a grown man capable of defending NOAH from all outsiders and capable of being The Guy for this promotion after his year-plus struggles with guys like Okada, Mutoh, etc. Maybe my favorite match of 2024, it's certainly up there. ***** |

This match was a bloody scrap that added some much needed edge to NOAH's pretty babyface ace. Gabe wastes no time starting this off and they fight to the outside. There's an excellent transition spot where Kiyomiya falls face first onto the ring post and gets cut open. We get more blood when Gabe gets cut open and he's an ambitious bleeder, mugging off to the camera as his face trickles down with plasma. The sight of his own blood only seems to motivate him and Kaito has to match Gabe's ruthless intensity. I wish the crowd were hotter, as a molten crowd would have pushed this to the next level. The future of puroresu is bright with these two at the helm. |

One that stood out to me was Gabe saying "you don't have no spirit, kid" and then Kaito FLATTENED him with a dropkick. It did go a little longer than it probably should have given the pace, but the finish was very good, with multiple Shining Wizards putting Gabe away. ****1/4 |

There is some slight bloat to the match at the middle point but that is quickly rectified by an extremely intense final 10 minutes. Gabe is drenched in blood and he continues to beg Kaito to prove to him what NOAH is all about and Kaito responds with great spirit, stiff strikes, and dropping him on his head a few times. Sounds like wrestling to me. **** 1/4 |
