The dude can just pop back into AEW and the fans recognize and get behind him throughout his matches. That says a lot. His style is so unique in wrestling today. Love it, or hate it, he does things that you wont see anywhere else. In this match, Roddy was in control for about 80% of it and whenever Lio had a counter or some offense he made the most of it. Kingdom were poking in and out throughout the match which led to the finish. Solid work as always from Roddy. Lio carried the crowd. Led to Roddy's match next week. AEW needs to sign Lio if they can. |

Good tv match, the chemistry between Lio and Strong was good, Lio Rush's athleticism with Strong's excellent strikes, the dynamic between heel and babyface worked very well, Strong dominating with his visually spectacular backbreaks and forearms and Lio surprising with his agility and plasticity when applying blows. Roderick Strong is one of the most solid wrestlers in the company and although the ending doesn't have a climax, it's understandable, it's a really cool TV match. [3.5*] |

Lio Rush is an amazing agile cruiserweight, while Roderick Strong brings strength and intensity. Sometimes this formula can be boring when the bigger wrestler slows down the pace of the match, but this match was nothing like that. Lio sold Roderick's strong offense very well and there were moments during the match where I was genuinely wondering if he was hurt. The dive to the outside along with his stunner off the ropes were both works of art, and Roderick Strong's backbreaker and strikes look absolutely devastating. |

Lio Rush is creative with his rope- and ring-running and this match featured a couple of cool spots: (1) his baseball slide into the corner from Strong's Irish whip, and (2) his stunner that originate from between the second and third ropes. He also utilizes unique covers with his pinfalls. Strong does a nice job here to give off the impression that there's urgency in every action he takes and that he's truly embracing a take-no-prisoners approach with his offense. The way they transitioned into the finish was a creative, well-executed sequence, as well. |
